First Sunday of September

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

First Sunday of September

Good morning everyone. Been awhile since I checked in but have been trying to keep up with posts. So much going on with everyone! I got through the fair but have been down all week with a nasty sinus infection that has really sapped my energy level. I finally went to the walk in clinic the other day and got an antibiotic for it. Today is day 5 of it and PA said it would take 3-5 days to kick in so hopefully she is right! Haven’t had something like this in a very long time and I’m sure not a fan!
Weather has been up and down. Looks like summer is back for a few days with hot and humid conditions. But nights are definitely showing that fall is coming. 3 weeks to go before camping up in elk country for a couple of days. So looking forward to it! Soon after that I imagine I’ll need to think about winterizing the RV. Friends of mine are starting to get into camping with their TT. Grange fairgrounds are now an area for overnight camping during Penn State football weekends and they are taking their camper out there since he signed on to help park RVs. They can have their camper there as part of his employment so they get to figure out if they’ll like having the camper. A win win for them! Amazing how much campgrounds around here charge during football weekends. KOA is $180 a night! And they fill up! Me, I avoid State College on those weekends!

Been trying to keep up what everyone is doing. Sounds like everyone is busy with home and travel! Velda, sending good thoughts your way as you travel these difficult days. As I went through a similar journey with my DH, I can empathize. Take care of yourself too.

Time to get this day going and see what it brings! Hope everyone has a good day. Travel safe!

Hi Sharon & everyone!

Happy Labor Day Sunday to all of you! Steve asked me this morning if I wanted to go to Easton tomorrow to take care of a few errands but we would have been in the Ocean City traffic coming home, which I think he forgot about, so I said no. A couple hour trip could have been a six or seven hour trip. Not gonna happen.

Sharon, the crabs here double in price during holiday weekends, which is why we buy ours in the middle of the week. So I can only imagine the prices of campgrounds during the peak weekends. So glad we have a 50 amp service in our driveway.

We have too many loose ends we need to tie up before we go to FL and Steve is at his wits end. I need to fix him a meal he really likes to calm him down.

It's raining, raining, raining! It's not raining hard but pretty steady. The pond is so full it is running out the overflow drain. There have been summers that the pond was down 3 feet and I was worried about the fish. Not this summer.

CC went out this morning and wanted right back in because it was raining. Then he starts attacking the other cats so I threw him outside for an hour to calm down. He can be such a little s*#t.

I dug through the freezer looking for something to cook. I really wanted something to BBQ but nothing. I had a jar of étouffée mix so cooked it with some shrimp. It was ok but a little spicy. I find that spicy food gets to me more than it use to. Last night I heated some tamales and I thought I was going to have to take some Pepsid for a while.

There is nothing on TV I want to watch. I'm down to the weather channel and Laverne and Shirley. They didn't deliver my Sunday paper again. I make them take my missed papers off my next bill.

Sharon, $180 at a KOA. I don't know what they charge in Lafayette to tailgate but the price to park for Mardi Gras was more than I wanted to pay.

Irmi, I'm with you, no traveling on a holiday. I was watching a video the other day of a vehicle burning on the Baton Rouge Mississippi bridge. No telling how long the westbound traffic was shut down. When you get caught up in something like that there is no where to go.
