Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Congrats Catherine! I will be looking for a small trailer this winter for short trips around Cali and the western states. Maybe an RPod, Aliner or Casita. There is a dealer down here called "Little Guy Trailers" with lots of options of smaller trailers like that. I want to check them out and see what they have there and if any good deals.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Velda, I ache for you! Prayers and hugs.

This is my 3rd day on the road going from Washington State to Kansas. I'll arrive in Kansas on Tuesday for a 2 week visit. Enjoyed time with my Washington daughter and her guy. Air Force grandson came for a day - two of us went out for lunch so had a good visit. Also visited with other family in Port Angeles for a weekend - well at least those that cared I was there meaning my sister didn't. Fun to see great nephews who are under 1 and under 2 years old.

Josef and I are in Lexington, KY, dry camping right outside the Allteck Arena at the Lexington Horse Park. This is much cheaper than using the KHP Campground, the Campground is nice but it is so late when we actually make it back to the rig, this is working very well for us. I left Lark and Audrey at home so I don’t need to worry about keeping AC running. When Josef and I do makethe walk back to the rig, I crank up the generator, turn the AC on and we are cool within 10 minutes or less. Temps at night are around 68-70 so we turn the AC off as the sun goes down and enjoy. It is quieter here with only about ten rigs boondocking around the pond.

Josef picked up Best of Breed honor for the past three days and took An Owner Handler Group 1 on Thursday. There are between 1400 and 1700 dogs showing this weekend depending upon the day so even the Owner Handler Sporting Group is deep with talent and good dogs. The regular Sporting Group has at least 7 dogs that have earned multiple BIS titles. So Josef and I remind each other that we are showing there to represent English Cockers and Owner Handlers in a sea of beautiful dogs and professionals. And yes, these are the same professional handlers you see each year on TV or at Westminster. Josef runs with the big dogs at shows like this one.

Catherine, congrats on passing your camper on to another dreamer. And as many of us learn as we go along, just how much or how little we need to get us out there traveling when we want to!

Almost time for bed here. Josef has to get his rest. Two more days of showing up to the ring.

I sure wish I knew more about dog shows and the different terms used in showing so I could understand what Josef and you have accomplished Tina. Sounds like you both have done well, however. Congrats to you both of you.

am home and am grateful for that had a super lazy day today...still in jamies and not because it's time to go to bed in some
time zones..
spent the day looking for a bag with hedgehogs in it for a wreath...got all the stuff for the wreath other than trying figure
out how to make it work and can't find the hedgehogs...put them some where right now I know where they aren't!! I think and now beginning to wonder if I accidentally tossed them...they were so cute... but found a purse that is in much better shape than the one I am using :D the one I am using I was hoping it would make it till I got down to MX and could get a decent purse for a lot less than one here in the states costs..
I was glad that I was able to help my sister out but glad to be home...also spent part of the month house sitting for the youngest dd and helping my eldest get ready for school...they had the lower classes move out to the pods and the older kids move in...really doesn't make since to me the restrooms are inside I can see a lot of lost kids or rather distracted kids not making it back to class in a timely manner... so having to find space for more kids and less room she is going to have to store some at home and bring it back and forth..which isn't easy
some of my plants survived the heat of the summer and lack of good watering gd was suppose to water but I am sure it didn't happen but I knew when I planted them that was a good chance that would happen shouldn't have planted but so enjoy the looks of them... My son in law and daughter where I live in summer are going to put in a garage with an apt above it so while I was gone trenches every where had worries about that part getting done but Thurs he was able to fill in the areas that we need to drive over so glad to see that ....
enough rambling you all have a good month
thoughts and prayers are with you Velda and Mel

I know I am very late for a good morning, but I drove today and have had really horrible cell service and internet the last two weeks. I was only able to get online after 10 pm, so have been up every night until at least 2 am and then sleeping in until 10 or 11 am. However, my site at Tillicum Beach DOES have a bit of an ocean view, especially when there is a lot vehicle across the road from me, and the beach access is less than 50' away, so that makes it worth while. Location, location, location, as they say!! And the senior price there is only $20 per night for an electric/water site. It is USDA facility, hence the senior discount. It has been chilly and damp, however, with sun only a couple of days--and heater going all night. Would you believe that even my toilet paper tears off the roll strangely because it also feels damp. Same thing for paper towel. Hard to get towels to dry also, which reminds me of Florida a little.

Am now at Bullard's Beach SP. About 1/4 miles from the ocean, but decent Verizon service, which is nice. Absolutely drop-dead gorgeous drive down here today, so I stopped at a lot of pullouts, but a lot of traffic made it hard a couple of times to get back on the road. Had to get help one time because I have no one in the passenger seat to watch my huge blind spot. Got a young man to let me know when there was no traffic coming.

Sandi, I understand your comment about dog shows. It reminds me of how I feel went folks discuss the details of fine cooking. It seems like an unknown mystery to me but I can appreciate the results and the talent involved.

During the past 24 hrs I realized Mel's restlessness may not be pain or nausea as he kept answering not much when asked about pain and nausea. So ever the suspicious nurse I began to think it was the process not the symptoms. So of course I googled, and there it was. Confirmed with nurse today, it was likely what they call terminal agitation as they struggle with leaving. So we added one dose of a drug called ativan, approved for nausea and agitation. He has been asleep ever since, and that was 3 and it's now 10:20. So this may be it or he may wake and be up tonight. Only time will tell. I'm going to attempt to sleep a while but did say to him a few weeks ago, my prayer is you go to sleep and wake on the other side. I'm hanging on by a thread. Only day no nurse is Sunday and one is on call. Spent today doing laundry, picking up stuff he will no longer need and talking with a friend who will help plan funeral, her husband, friend of 32 years to us, is writing eulogy based on the talk at the honor ceremony last April. It's going to be a busy few weeks, followed by a let down, I'm sure.
I am so proud of our son Chris who lives with us and is disabled. He has been spelling me sitting with Mel some. This morning he walks in and says, knowing I'd been up most of night, Mom I ate breakfast and have my tablet, YOU need to go take a nap! I tried, honest I did....we try not to leave Mel alone for more than a few minutes because I did this morning and returned to find him out of bed standing trying to figure out how to drag his oxygen and pain pump with him!
No rabbits for me too tired to remember. I figured out , having been a night shift OB nurse when I had young boys, that night shift is tougher at 69 than it was at 29!

Happy you found an answer to Mels restlessness. Maybe you will get a little rest as I know you need it. Sounds like such a sweet thought your son had. Good for him stepping up. My hope for you is that Mel just slips over to the other side peacefully. I loved Hospice while caring for my Mom for just one month (felt longer) they were wonderful, so glad they are involved for you. Hugs Velda

Speaking of diabetic coma. Found myself having barely looked at his insulin pump having to figure out how to suspend his pump, how to restart insulin, and how to get it to calculate a bolus , change that dose and get it to run. I check his blood sugar and do what is needed. Strange as it seems that little pump was one of he things I was apprehensive about for this point I knew would come. As always, i figure it out.
He has slept all but a few minutes of past 24 hours yet his body is strong and fights on. Sigh. Learned tonight that my only blood cousin, my fathers nephew, is taking off and driving here to help. Said he will stay as long as I need him. We were not close as kids due to living 500 miles apart thus only seeing each other at Christmas, but became close as adults.
