Sunday, Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday, Sunday

Postby OregonLuvr » Sun Aug 26, 2018 10:26 am

Oh happy day. The sun is out, the air is fairly clear, just a small haze. Temps will be in the 80's with a breeze hopefully keeping our air clear. I have no doubt the smoke will come back when the breeze stops and the air heats up but I think we have a few days before that. Going to take Emma for a long walk this morning just because we sure have not been able to get out much. Have some more painting I want to do on my patio so today just might be the day.

I am hoping we have good weather in October when we go to the Indian Pow Wow in Redding. Hopefully the fires down there will be out or minimal. Either way we will have fun.

Velda so sorry to hear about Mel. Be sure and take care of you too as you will need lots of strength in the upcoming days. Get Hospice involved they are terrific.

Glad Judy is enjoying the coast. I would have headed over to the coast during our smoke filled days but I cant stay there for weeks even if I could have found a spot. I have a garden here and it costs lots of $$$$ to stay on the Oregon coast. Rates go way up in the summer.

Off for breakfast and a shower then start my day.

Good Morning, I am home! It was a hot three days driving, but thank heavens for AC both in the car and trailer! I can remember saying, some long time ago, I don’t need air in my car! Wow, I would not be without it today!
Condo rug looks great after cleaning.
Took Benji down to the ball park for his early morning walk. It is fun seeing the other dog owners after being away for awhile.
Hey Peggy, do come to Quartzsite, and bring Carol along. It’s been too long since seeing either of you! I think Judyjb might be there this year. (Really next year)
Velda, my heart goes out to you.

Cooler this morning. Actually have a throw blanket on me on the couch.

I went outside last night to get something and I closed the door behind me but it wouldn't shut so I kept pushing on it. I finally turned around to look and I saw Emily's head stuck in the door! :o She didn't say a thing! I opened the door quick and she just shook her head and walked away! i checked her over and she seemed fine and was playing shortly afterward but I felt so bad! Poor thing! Bad mom!

Off to work shortly, then two days off. My handyman will be over tomorrow morning to install everything for me. Still haven't finished the painting in there but that shouldn't take too long to do. Then start cleaning and sorting thru boxes (put all my storage stuff in there) and get my new shelving put up and get moved in! Then I can get back to the outside projects! Hopefully, it will stay cooler so I can get that done quicker.

I am hoping to get back to Q this (next) year too. Maybe I will have a new little camper by then! :D

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good morning!

Overcast & cooler here too - finally. I used to hate the coming of fall which meant winter was close behind, but living here, I'm good with fall, winter, spring & even most of the summer. I am so spoiled!!! If we could only get a little rain, it'd be perfect. :D

Velda, keeping you & Mel in my prayers - may you both be surrounded with peace & strength. Yes, do call hospice, they are wonderful & will take care of the entire family.
Ava, totally understand - even if you only got to have your dream car for a couple of days, glad it made you feel special - because you are. By the way, I HATE car trouble  so I can relate to having a meltdown about the problem that put you in this position.
Peggy, Easter Island & Chile! What fun! I do hope you & Carolb make it out here this winter - would love to see you both again.
JudyB, sounds like you've got a great spot at the moment. I miss the COEs in KS - they're usually clean, near lakes & have wonderful large sites.
Lyn, glad you have A/C in your car. Can't imagine not having it - even in San Diego there are times when it is priceless.

Need to get in gear - cleaning & preparing for the week ahead, you all know the routine.
Have a great week!

Lyn, I don't know how we ever lived without air conditioned cars. My step daughter that lives in New Orleans always ordered a car without air conditioning. The last time she bought a car they didn't make cars without air conditioning. Her solution is to never use it. And they wonder why I will never go anywhere with them. Now she wants to go camping with me. A trip with her and my sister and you could commit me. They never stop talking.

I have to watch CC that I don't catch him in the door. My inside doors are about an inch from the floor so if I make it into the bathroom without him I see his paws under the door. He likes to play along the hinge edge of a door and I'm afraid I might close it on his paw.

Yesterday I decided to mow again since it is suppose to start raining today. I had mowed part of the yard high so ended up mowing everything again. It seems like all I do is mow. It was overcast when I started but I got a lot of sun. It was 97 when I finished. I would like to go to the pond but it's 94 and probably headed higher.

Nothing exciting here. I used the Walmart shopping app to place an order for the store. You have to pick day and time for pickup. They didn't have any times for this morning so have one for this afternoon. After that was set I went and placed a second order for me. Well, I couldn't take the same time, so am in the next hour. Then I realized I forgot something on my order... It would only allow me to add to the first order. I think they (and Sam's Club with their similar program) need done work. But it'll stop me from impulse buys. So we shall see. So I'll be heading into Rapid later.

Meantime. Just being lazy. Yesterday I did more work on putting up the quilt window treatments. And discovered more I want to do with them... But got lazy lol

Ty just keeps getting better but I doubt I'll ever be able to control him around squirrels. :) They are in his blood.

Today is the first day in several that Mt Rushmore is clear from here. Amazingly, I couldn't smell smoke the last couple days, but it was still hanging in our air.

I wrote too much and now it's afternoon here.

Tillicum Beach is only $20 if you are over 62 with a senior pass, and most of the coastal state parks are only a little over $30, so they are not overly expensive, but you do have to make reservations very early. I also love Minooka and East Bloomfield in KS, and they each cost only $9 per night for an electric site that is a long way from neighbors! I don't think the sites were paved, but they were well-kept, as almost all COE parks are. And I will definitely be at Quartzite.

Have to drive about 20 miles today to Newport because I need really good cell service or student presentations. Last year I will have to do that as they are changing the way the presentations are given. Yea! Will do laundry and try to get a haircut while I am there.

And, finally, calling in hospice was the best thing I ever did for my mother. They were amazingly caring and helpful.

I haven't tried the Walmart pickup but it would probably save me money. But, what would I do with the rest of the day. The employees wandering around with the rolling carts picking for the orders are aggravating. They are forever blocking the aisles.

Barbie your catching your kitties head in the door reminded me of a time I did something similar only it was my daughter...My parents and most of my siblings were in a car accident in 1973 resulting in death of my father and youngest sister...so we my husband and I and our eldest daughter went to Jackson Wy from Ia...Larry left us there as Mom and sister were in hospitals separate states even one night I kept feeling something getting on the bed I don't know what I thought it was but I keep kicking it off until I realized it was my daughter felt like such a horrible mother...

 I can relate! I love roaming around Walmart!

I used to hate the coming of fall which meant winter was close behind, but living here, I'm good with fall, winter, spring & even most of the summer.

Catherine, I feel exactly the same way! I used to dread fall back in MN, knowing what was coming! Now I don't feel that way at all and look forward to the cooler weather here to get out more.

Funny cat story...when I was a teenager, I had a cat named Mitzy who loved to fetch those little round shade pulls on a string. You could buy them in little bags of 3, and that was her favorite toy. One night while I was sleeping, she brought one up on the bed for me to throw for her. I drowsily thru it and said "fetch!". She would return it to me to do it again. My mom was in the bedroom reading and was watching this. After about 4 or 5 times, I apparently picked up Mitzy instead and threw her off the bed and said "fetch!".  That ended that game in a hurry! I didn't remember doing that but my mom said it was the funniest thing she had seen in a long time!
