Surprise Indiana gtg!

Surprise! We discovered our route took us near Carol and Bill (asirimarco) so we contacted them and a little gtg was planned. I’ll tell you they are the most hospitable, talented and interesting people you’ll ever meet. First Bill cooked us a delicious authentic Italian dinner while Carol showed us around their beautifully decorated house, filled with many of Carol’s photographs and stained glass, as well as collections from their travels. Don’t ask me what exactly we ate…maybe Carol will spell it, but it was delicious. Then they took us on a tour to see some covered bridges. Here are the three women by one of the bridges:

This is the only double covered bridge I’ve ever seen.

Everybody made me get Belle out of the closet for a picture, and sure enough, Bandit knocked her on the floor and broke her wing again.

So we took her to Dr. Bill who fixed her right up in his well-equipped workshop.

Here’s one of Carol’s stained glass windows as seen from outside at night

We’ve had a wonderful visit…it was so nice to meet another forum sister. I think tomorrow morning Carol is going to show us around her little town, and then we’ll move on toward the northwest.

I have many other pictures from today’s travel through KY and southern Indiana, but it’s too late tonight to post them.

What a nice little GTG on your way west and north! Thanks for the pics, too, even of poor little Belle convalescing! She'll be as good as new, thanks to Dr. Bill! Happy trails!

That's a wonderful surprise ... and Carol's stained glass is SPECTACULAR. I'm so sorry Belle was injured (bad Bandit!), but it appears Dr. Bill fixed her up just fine.

That stained glass is gorgeous! Wow. And how fun to have an impromptu GTG. I never knew Belle was so tiny. From other pictures I'd peeked at, she didn't seem so small. But these pics give a great perspective. Whew - I'm sure glad Dr. Bill got to put her on the mend. And I'll bet Belle was sure glad it was Dr. Bill and NOT Mr. Bill (remember him?)!!!

glad you guys could have a mini GTG. I met Carol and Bill in Port Aransas. Love her stained glass - so talented. Thanks to Dr. Bill for fixing Miss Belle. Maybe Bandit is jealous?

What a nice surprise for everyone. What else might pop up unexpectedly on your journey. Beautiful stained glass and I'm drooling over that Italian cooking :( and "thanks" Dr. Bill-we really need our Belle to be healthy. Do you think you could help me? :D carold

How great that you got to meet Carol and Bill and how fortunate for Belle that her accident happened with a surgeon so close by. I was feeling sorry for her having to ride in the closet but now understand your caution in letting her out. Do let her enjoy some of the views (with close supervision) when she is feeling better . She is much smaller than I had thought.
I've never seen a double covered bridge; that's impressive as was the stain glass window and Dr Bill's shop.
