It’s Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It’s Saturday

Postby Othersharon » Sat Aug 18, 2018 7:55 am

Good morning all. Different day and same rainy weather here in PA. Really thinking I’m going to need a boat!! This is crazy! This is fair week and I’m usually excited to go out every day but this year it will depend on the weather! Yesterday was hot and humid and the rain that came through in the afternoon didn’t cool things down at all. Glad my friends have the TT this year. So we spent time in it and then went out to the tent later! My oldest son showed up about the time I was planning on heading home so left later then I planned! They are predicting 90% chance of rain today so think I’ll stay home and get some things done here. The dogs will be happy for me to be home all day! I had to stop in State College yesterday and completely forgot about it being move in week end for the university. If the parking lots were any indication I think I’m glad I didn’t need to go into any of those stores! Best Buy was bad enough! Lots of moms and dads getting their kids settled into college life! Schools around here start the 27th so if the weather clears up I may be able to get out for a couple of days! Campgrounds and parks will be quieter! But I’m not counting on it!

Barbie, hope you’re getting the flea problem solved. Haven’t had that problem for a long time and don’t miss dealing with it! And hoping all of you dealing with the fires or smoke from them are doing okay. Heard the other day that smoke has traveled clear out to the east coast. Crazy! Irmi, happy to hear you haven’t flooded away! Martha, Want to use my goats for your yard? ;) I managed to get out and mowed the other day but it looks like it could use it again!

Ok, enough rambling for me. Need to get some things done around here so better get to it! I hope you all have a good week end and get to do something fun!

Good morning Sharon & everyone! Sharon, I feel your pain about all the rain you're getting. We were in the same position up until a little over a week ago. We've gotten a reprieve from the rain this week but we have more moving in tonight and tomorrow.

I just practiced for tomorrow's church service but still need to make my cheat sheet, which helps guide me through the service. Steve wants to cut the grass since today is the last dry day for a couple days. My tinnitus is driving me nuts today. Not sure why some days are worst than other but I can hardly hear the TV for the ringing in my head. Have a good day!

BJ I sent you a PM.

Hot and humid in SE OK. Trying to make one day at a time through this summer. I was house sitting for a couple of weeks and they got 4” of rain here. It is still soggy in the low spots and wet in general. But it doesn’t look like it will stay that way for long. We have a ‘cold front’ coming thru on Sunday. Who ever heard of a cold front in August in OK? Crazy weather. Temps will drop at night in a couple of places to the 60’s. Who would have thunk?! Had the A/C in the rig, miss the drain plus and drained into the rig one day. What a mess. Had to use carpet cleaner to suck the water out of the carpet. Now have the fans on it. But hey, look at the positive side of things, carpet is nice and clean! With the heat it should dry....well it would dry quickly if I’d turn off the A/C and open the door! Time to fix lunch and I think pizza sounds good. Hope you have a good day. If you are on the road, be safe and have fun where ever you are.

I hope all of you live and store your RVs on hills with all that rain!! I would not want to live in a river valley or in any place low.

Just pulled over for a break and almost to Bonneville Dam. I want to see the fish hatchery where they have 8' sturgeon they use for breeding. Then on to Sears in Portland, Walmart farther south, and finally Tillicum Beach for two weeks. Tillicum is along the ocean and the site I reserved has an ocean view. Plus, it will be nice and cool down there.

I worked an adoption event at Pet Smart today for Chadron Friends of Animals (where I adopted Ty). only two dogs, but we are at 100% adoption rate... Which she's never been before.

We had some wind yesterday and it blew a lot of the smoke out. I could see the hills around my house fairly clearly for a while. As it heats up and no wind the smoke comes back but I enjoyed it while I could. Took Emma for a long walk then went up to the Clubhouse and had "Coffee with the Neighbors" met a couple new people here. Then came home and blew the leaves and ash off my carport and car. Picked a bunch more tomatoes so will make tomato sauce this afternoon and spaghetti. Bought a loaf of homemade sourdough from my neighbors that bake and sell on Saturdays. So will have some garlic toast and spaghetti today.

I am thinking I just might shampoo my bedroom carpets tomorrow. The guest room and my room, should dry fairly quickly. Then can move on to the living and dining room later this week.

Going to get some more paint over at Home Depot tomorrow and finish the second coats on my outside door and trim this week.

Time for lunch

Just got home from work. Did 14 haircuts in 6 hours! Busy day! Now am off to a Meet & Greet for a meetup group called San Diego Happy Campers. I joined them years ago and went camping with them up on Mt Laguna. Want to rejoin the group and am hoping I can buy a little camper by next spring to go camping with this group again. We are just meeting for dinner tonight.

Irmi, I had tinnitus really bad last night. Could hardly fall asleep with how loud it was!

Beth, glad you found homes for the two dogs!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Things are slow now that Sturgis is over... Kills us
And I have a full staff so I'm not personally very busy.

I'll be putzing around this winter. You might see more of me. :)

It's going to be chilly tomorrow here... High of only 60! Then temps go back more to normal range, if there is any such thing anymore.
