Wednesday 8/15

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday 8/15

Day and Date just to keep us grounded. Received a call from the RV shop that the rig might be ready today or tomorrow. It was out being road tested to see if everything they did fixed the issues. After talking with them yesterday it sounds as if they didn't find what they originally thought and had to go exploring again. Better them that I. Like I mentioned I am hoping that the refrigerator will start up and run without a glitch after I refill the propane.

Regarding my computer, the gray screen glitch is still lurching but off and on, so now I am mostly just leaving the computer on. The lap top is connected to a much larger stand alone monitor when it is here on my desk, which means the lap top can remain closed and I can just turn the monitor off. So far the computer has not complained about that. The old WIFI which had been refusing to let the the devices log on or connect in a timely manner has suddenly as of yesterday decided that it can run quite fast now! Alexa is even able to connect to it now. Of course I had already purchase a replacement foe the old unit and it is in the mail. Who says machines don't know what is going on around them?

Since it is already purchase I may go ahead and activate the new device. If it isn't on its last legs given its age it probably should be. I can keep it for a back up.

Hope everyone has fun with at least parts of their "to do list" today. May those parts balance out some of the not so pleasant parts. Take care.

Hi Tina, Steve & I have been outside in the 90+ heat for over two hours trimming trees and bushes. Why am I so tired watching him?

Hi ladies ~~~ easy past morning, but you know how it is.

Finally on the road again and camped along the Mississippi on the Illinois side. Friends coming tomorrow with their first new to them TT. They want me to show them stuff. Yea, like I know what I'm doing

Ma has moved into an independent living place closer to my cousins, including the one who is my backup while I'm on the road. Peace of mind for me that's for sure. Her place sold in one day for full asking price and close is next week, so she has no escape now. ;)

Heading to Wisconsin and the UP. I really need to get my act together to figure out if I'm turning left or right once I get Lake Superior. I did get my updated passport thankfully so who knows, maybe Canada for a bit???

That's it from me. Hate reading about all the fires because I may head west again. Can you say {{{jello}}}?

Have a good day and stay safe wherever you are.
Cheryl

Laughing here, Irmi. I am guessing that Steve is feeling much better than his winter health scares. Remind him that none of us are getting any younger and if we want to get older we need to be smart about working in that heat.

So glad that your mom got moved, Cheryl. Seeing some of your posts on Facebook I imagined the memories and emotions you were helping her sort through.....dishes, antique rocking chairs. It reminds me to go sort some more to help my daughter out when the time comes.

Best part is you are back on the road living your life and send your parents post cards from everywhere!

Irmi, you better not work Steve so hard in this heat. lol It was 97 here today. My shirt is just starting to feel dry. I was trying to load things for my trip tomorrow. I still have a list of things to do in the morning. I'm glad I'm only going about 50 miles.

I got my hair cut this afternoon and it feels so much better. It's was getting wild in this humidity. Got my grocery shopping done so don't have to do that on the way. The refrigerator in the new motorhome is not as big as my old one. I'm going to miss my electric refrigerator. I could turn it on and in an hour it was cold enough to put food in. RV refrigerators don't do that.

Getting on here late, but better late than never, right?

I flea bombed the house before I headed to work, leaving the cats and fish on the porch for the day. Came back on my dinner break to open up the windows and air it out some with fans blowing. I decided to spend the night out on the porch tonight just to make sure it is really aired out by morning. Still have all the fans running since there is no breeze tonight. Not as cool tonight outside so have a fan in the porch if I need it. Cats are happy to be with me out here. It kind of feels like camping out here. The frogs and crickets are really loud on this side of the house. Will lull me right to sleep tonight!
I imagine there are fleas out here too so I will bomb the porch tomorrow. Then will repeat the whole thing in a few days just to catch anything that got missed. I am so bit up and so tired of itching and scratching!

Very slow at work today with school starting but nice to relax a little at work. My 8 day stretch is done so will be able to concentrate on house and yard projects again. Bryan will be here in the morning to get started on the painting.

Good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
