Good Sunday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good Sunday Morning

Postby Shirlv » Sun Aug 12, 2018 9:12 am

Hello from rainy Eastern Shore of Maryland. Sun is shining at the moment but suppose to change to t-storms again. The 20 flower pots on my shady deck are flourishing because they think they are in a rain forest. Since I do not flourish in the humidity I stay inside and try new recipes. I noticed my waistline is doing very well. Decided this morning I will stop reading the news, the world will have to survive without Shirl’s tears and worries. Sending hugs to those in need. Safe travels.

Good Morning, Sort of a medium day here. I don't think it is going to be too hot and it isn't raining. Shirlv I wish I lived near you I would be happy to help you sample those new recipes! We went to a new restaurant in a small nearby town yesterday for a very early dinner. Took us 30 minutes to get roast beef sandwiches  The owner was there but never apologized. DH asked at one point asked the waitress if there was a problem in the kitchen and they said they were having to remake the sandwiches as they put cheese on both by mistake. We had requested no cheese, still I don't see how it could possible have taken that long. Not much on the agenda today I did get green beans at the market yesterday so will need to get them ready to cook. I like green beans but not the getting them ready process.

Good morning. Not quite as smoky this morning but the smoke seems to come back in thick in the afternoon when things heat up. I actually see the sun this morning.

I was going to go out to Jacksonville, OR this morning to the Farmers market just to get out of the house. They have live music at 11:30 for a couple hours so I might have to take a shower and get to it. Still thinking about it. It is about a half hour away so................. and we have one here in Ashland on Tuesdays, Medford on Thursdays and Saturdays so have lots of closer choices. Still thinking on it. I am just not too motivated yet.

Past morning here, but changed sites to the one I originally had reserved for this week, now that the previous reservations have left. Beautiful day with a cool northerly breeze and hazy sun. Perfect. Temp in 70’s.

Enjoyed a great concert again last night at some friends trailer. Blend of country and a few hymns thrown in. We had a beautiful sunset again last night, so sang “How Great Thou Art” as it went down.very fitting. Was put on by a couple friends of their’s. Course now, everybody has to head home and back to work. Will be hard to top this weekend of music here. Bumming time this coming week.

Sorry some of you are having to experience Smokey skies or too much rain. Know all about that. Need to head to the store in awhile here and then putts around this afternoon. Fur kids are sleeping under the trailer. Have a nice day all.

Good morning, it's barely 9:30 here and I already want a nap however, waiting to swap the laundry from washer to dryer. Nap has to wait. Our temps have come down a little, only 100 yesterday. Would be nice if they stayed down. The girls and I had a nice walk yesterday and again this morning. Tidied up the yard from the storms, still a few more things to get accomplished. Will hose down the patio and my chair after laundry is done and I will be finished with outside chores.
Maggie is about due for a checkup, sort of want to get that done soon as I think she's a tad "off" maybe just age setting in but she seems a little depressed.
Time to get to the laundry room. Ya'll enjoy your day

Shirl, I don't flourish in the humidity either. The 4 plants on the front porch are doing ok, considering they have me taking care of them. They are in the shade most of the day. I don't know what will happen this winter. They might have to spend the winter in the old house with the ficus tree. I have been cooking too much today. I made hash browns out of all the little potatoes I had left. Cooked a pan of TGI Friday ribs that were already mostly cooked and made a banana bread from a recipe that I got out of a magazine. Like I need banana bread.

I think I will try to mow before it decides to rain again. It's starting to get cloudy but it's still 92.

I went up the Rushmore Tramway here in Keystone this morning with friends Rich and Marnie. They can take neat pics.

Then the tramway took the next:

We had lunch with a view of Mt Rushmore:

We took the slide down. Marnie had to be talked into it... I think she enjoyed, eh?

Was peaceful and beautiful... Good company, good food...

The weekenders with their big, noisy jet boats and large families have gone!! Much quieter here. Not that I do not like families, but when there are the maximum number of people and more than the maximum numbers of vehicles at a site, it gets crowded and noisy. Some of these sites had a big RV, plus a tow vehicle, plus a huge boat, and a second tow vehicle or car, plus 5-8 people, and maybe a tent!!

Guess I am spoiled wanting a campground all to myself. :( Anyway, I am glad not to have to go back to an office after a weekend, so I guess i can put up with some noise on weekends, and the crowds will be less once school starts.

Beth, I rode the alpine slide with Linda. That was so fun! And I beat her to the bottom!

So much for cooling off around here! Was pushing 90* today again and very humid. Was busy again at work but makes the time go pretty fast.

Just read that there is another fairly large wildfire up in the mountains near Lake Elsinore where I lived before. A mentally ill man set it on purpose because he says the fire department stole $100 trillion dollars from him, and he has caused trouble with neighbors, etc in the past. Laura, I imagine you are getting some of the smoke from that since you are just on the other side of those mountains.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Speaking of fires... Anyone thinking of heading to Glacier National Park, much you might want to see there is closed now due to fire. Very scary and sad.
