Temps are down to the upper 90s today, and even cooler tomorrow, which is a lot better than yesterday when they were 103-107. I managed to stay outside yesterday long enough to plug in and quickly hook up water, then dove inside to enjoy the air conditioning trying to get the place cool.
Anyway, LePage Park, along the Columbia River, is a nice place. All paved camping spots along the John Day River, which empties into the Columbia here, water and electric, good satellite access, but very weak Verizon service, so internet through my hotspot is weak also. Interstate 84 is about a quarter mile away, so it is fairly quiet here also--a few boats on the river, however, so they can e noisy. COE park, so only $12.50 per night for us seniors. Going to be here 10 days. Anyway, got a ton of work to do this weekend, so got to get busy.
I have one of the pull-through sites along the river, so terrific view of John Day River. I can also see the I-84 bridge and the wind farm on other side of the Columbia. Used my binoculars to watch some bighorn sheep on the other side of the John Day River last night.
