Back home again Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Back home again Tuesday

Good Morning. Josef and I had a lovely drive out to Carbondale for a brief visit with BJ and a two day dog show for Josef. Josef went Select Dog both days and came home with 4 more GCH points. He says he is working towards his Silver level now. All I know is that he showed well, the BOB dog was beautiful and deserving also and we were all Owner Handlers and supportive of one another. We were all still talking and laughing together at the end of the day. That makes for a pleasant dog show weekend.

Diners out with BJ were a great chance to catch up and getting to the show sit Friday evening in time to watch Emma pass her CGC test was wonderful. She is even more beautiful and full of personality in person than her photographs could ever show.

Today’s assignment is a run down to the Apple Store and get my laptop looked at. It is having screen issues again. It was a simple fix last time. I only wish it was one that I could figure out on my own. The Apple Store is in an upscale Mall. I always feel like I am entering a foreign land when I go there. An interesting land but quite foreign to my “I shop thrift stores” needs at my age.

Josef goes into the vet for an allergy panel and a look at a small growth on the pad of one rear foot that may need to come off but that isn’t till tomorrow. I’m retired. I get to pace myself.

Tina, sounds like you had a good trip and visit with BJ. Our mall is not very upscale anymore. It is in bankruptcy and they keep going on tv to say they are not closing. Dillard's did a big remodel a few years ago and they still look like they have business but Macy's looks like they are going out of business. Penny's is still stocked but Sears closed. The new stores that are being built look like they are going back to the strip mall type shopping centers. I know I don't hike the mall anymore. I park outside the store I want to go in and that's about it.

It's storming again. I don't mind the rain but can do without the lightening. I remember hearing it rain sometime during the night. All the cats that went out are back in.

I called yesterday to make an appointment with a new dermatologist.I wanted to change to a woman doctor and very few will take medicare. They don't have an opening until the first week of September and some one is suppose to call me back to schedule an appointment. I got her name off one of the internet sites and one of the reviews was that they don't call you back. I wonder if I am suppose to sit around waiting for them to call for the next 3 weeks.

Thank you Tina for your kind comments on my wild child! It was so good to have you there Friday evening to help us watch Emma pass here CDC and cheer her success. It is always good to have you visit and catch up. Hope you get your laptop fixed.
Martha one of the Mall's in a town near here is in foreclosure. The Dillard's and Target store are still open but everything else is closed. No one much likes the Macy's here as they carry mostly lower quality clothes and shoes that all seem to look alike. They say is is a 'third rate store" what ever that means, so people go to the strip mall stores like Kohls or TJ Max or order online. I like supporting local business but...I too seem to order more online. That doesn't surprise me that you are having a hard time getting a doctors appointment but was a little shocked that few will take Medicare. I think there is an overall shortage of doctors and finding a good one here is next to impossible. I saw a thing on FB about doctors. not making eye contact, and only looking at their computers during appointments.
Thinking of Karen all all those in the smoke and all who are having terrible weather. It has been cloudy and raining most all day here!! We really needed rain.

Still sitting in a county campground in Eugene, not Eureka, Oregon. Yesterday, I tossed out the old rug I had put under my recliner and vacuumed the place thoroughly. The rug was not machine washable and a pain because it kept collecting things that would stick and not vacuum up, so it is in the dumpster now!! Yea!

When I was at Target the other day picking up a few things, I happened to walk past their rugs. They have bound carpet remnants that are 4' by 6' for only $14.98, so I could not resist. That is the perfect size for under my recliner and does not interfere with my slide when it is in. They were a variety of colors, piles, and materials, but I found a thick plush one in a very light beige that feels really good on my feet. Super deal for the price! I also got a new door rug to replace the other one for about the same cost. Did some other picking up and cleaning besides the vacuuming so place makes me feel good because it is clean and neat. Small places really can get dirty and cluttered fast, as you all know.

Lane County where Eugene is located has some very nice county parks. All sites in this one, Richardson Park, which is on a lake, are paved with electric and water at each site, and stuff is in pretty good condition--much nicer than some state parks. Only problem with this site is weak internet. Heading to Armitage tomorrow because it has better internet and a laundromat, and then up to the Columbia River on Thursday for 8 days. It has full hookups for $30 per night. After that I will be at Tillicum Beach, which is a fantastic place with sites right on the ocean. It is a federal park, so I get a discount AND A VIEW from the site I have reserved.

The doctor's office called me back and I have an appointment for Sept. 5th. Good thing it's not an emergency. Last year I wanted to change to a woman gynecologist and called everyone in Lafayette and none would take medicare. I don't know what I will do if my doctor decides to retire. It was a small practice to begin with and it's down to 2 doctors now and they are both in their 60's. I didn't try a local doctor because if I ever have to have an operation I don't want it in the local hospital.

If there is something I can buy in Abbeville I buy it here so my taxes stay in my parish. But there isn't much in town besides Walmart and a few grocery stores and dollar stores. My favorite store is TJ Maxx but I don't find they are being stocked like they use to be. If there is one certain thing I want I will order it on line rather than look all over for it and probably not find it.

Good afternoon. Been kind of busy this morning. Well more like steady busy. Finished cleaning my laundry room and steam mopped the laundry and kitchen floors. I really dont know how they get so spotted and sticky some weeks. I cant even blame this on the dog.

Our park is having a Taco Tuesday tonite with the owners husband doing the cooking. Should be fun. I dont go to too many activities here but I really like Doye and Chris the owners, they keep our park looking great. Right now they are remodeling our fenced in dog park as it has a couple trees in the middle of the asphalt that used to be a driveway into our park and when they made the new entrance they made this a dog park. We have grass, asphalt, sidewalk, benches inside it is really nice. The trees roots have been uprooting the asphalt making it kind of dangerous for us old folks LOL so they are taking out the asphalt around the trees, cemented a couple of areas and now I am anxious to see the rest.

So many of you read my Amazon discussion yesterday and sure enough $50 was credited to my credit card, too funny. They are pretty good to me as my Echo Dot lost its mind a few months ago and so they gave me a $20 credit (my dot was out of warranty) and it only cost me $14 for a new one. I really missed Alexa while I was waiting for a new one to arrive. Now I find out she can control my tv also, so that has been fun. So far this Dot I really enjoy.

I went to the mall in Carlsbad this afternoon. It was remodeled last fall but it is still half empty of shops and very few people walking around. Not sure if they will make it either. I went in to JCPenney and spend 2 hours looking for and trying on shorts but nothing that fit or I liked. I guess I will have to lose some weight so I can fit back into the shorts I already have.
As I walked past the furniture department I saw a cute little bistro table and chairs just like I have been wanting for my outdoor porch area. It was even the right color, teal to match my lounge chairs out there. It was marked down from $200 to $60 so I bought a set and got another 25% off with my JCP card so it only cost me $45! :D I sure would never pay $200 for it tho!

This is a pic from their ad:

Did 3 loads of laundry today too. All caught up now for awhile.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
