Aug. 1st - Rabbits Roll Call

Morning everyone. Feels good to have Morning Coffee back. Like everyone else, I was getting starting really miss this forum.

Had a great time camping last week. Meet a lot of nice people and the fur kids got lots of attention too, besides meeting others fur kids, wading in the water and what not. They hated to come home. But we are getting ready to head out again, so that should make them happy.

Otherwise nothing new here. Mowing grass, weeding flowerbeds, cleaning the trailer and doing a few little cosmetic and reorganization things in there. Hot weather coming back,so want to bake some zucchini bread and biscuits tomorrow morning. Got shopping and other business to do today.

Hope you all have a wonderful day and Velda, hope Mel is resting comfortably.

Good morning! Hard to believe August is here already. Times really does fly! Remembered rabbits this morning even before I talked to the dogs so hope for a good month! More rain forecasted for us for the next several days. Think I need to build a boat! I was supposed to go to Gettysburg with son and grandsons today but we canceled trip because of the weather. Not a good day to be outside. So instead I’ll head out to WM for a couple of things I need. And try to avoid the roads that flood! Sue, glad you got to camp last week. I keep waiting for a couple of days of no rain so I can maybe get out. So far no luck! Lola is ready to go, just throw some food in the frig and I can be gone!

So glad to have the forum back! I’ve missed it! Again a big thanks to you, Beth. Ok, not much else happening here. Hope you all have a good day and travel safe.

Good Morning All,
Another zinger last night. Scary thunderstorm and lost power for 2 1/2 hrs. Concerned about 50 yr old trees in the yard but just sat and read on the Kindle till the power came on. The problem, I was so engrossed in the story didn’t go to bed until 1am. Jumped out of bed early to get ready for the delivery of new mattress. Company called, no delivery today, tomorrow instead. Ever feel like you are going 3 steps forward and 5 steps back? I use my smart phone to call, text and take a few pictures. It is old and isn’t holding a charge well. I had sticker shock looking at phone prices. Is it advisable to replace the battery in this Samsung? I would really like to finish the story but storms predicted the rest of the week so will see what the evening brings. Safe travels

Beth, appreciate your hard work with this site and I will also donate towards making your life easier.

We are all home as of yesterday. I had to quickly unload the rig and transfer any dog related things to the van that I may need this week and then I drove the rig over to my repair shop. In answer to yesterday's questions, yes, I had found an Auto Zone yesterday morning, within two miles of the Cracker Barrel and had them run the diagnostics. I have used them before. See reading this forum gives us useful information! The only clue they found was it may be running too rich. Off I headed down the road with thoughts of the rig sucking extra gas. :) Driving through another heavy rain storm again bought out the "wrench" of doom symbol which disappeared some 50 miles farther down the road after I gassed up and turned the engine back on. What I did notice is that the engine wasn't running as smoothly as it should and did not have the power it should have on the hills. Lucky for us we were on the final miles in Ohio and not still facing Pennsylvania's hill! And I no longer felt the urge to merge back on the the interstate in front of fast moving semi trucks.

Earlier this spring I had had to replace all of the spark plugs and two of the coils. Given the extreme heat that builds up in these engines the mechanic and I am afraid that some of the other coils have bit the dust. With a V10 engine you can lose a few and still keep chugging, which is probably what happened. It will take money on my part and torn up knuckles on Gene's part to fix them if that is what he finds. In the mean time I am really glad to have my Town and Country van available. Josef and I may have to motel it but no dog shows will be missed and we get to see BJ in Carbondale this weekend!

I think I fussed at the cats before I said Rabbits.

We missed all the rain yesterday. Somehow it managed to all go around us. Thirty miles East of here an area got about 3 inches.

I don't know what I'll do today. I haven't been to town since Friday so probably need to go to the post office. Since my mailbox is on the side of a country road all the important mail goes to the post office. There have been reports of people taking mail out of the rural boxes so now I won't even mail something here. I take it to the post office.

I haven't received a Medicare card yet but keep getting calls about Medicare. I'm sure it's scammers trying to get information. I don't talk to them.

Good morning gals! I did remember "rabbits" just at midnight last night.

A year ago today, i landed in Las Vegas (unplanned stop) to get the transmission fixed on my Jeep. Luckily I met up with Carol and Bill there and they helped me out a lot and fed me too! :D

Another hot humid day. Luckily, my little AC unit in my bedroom is working well so I sleep good at night. Not looking forward to my electric bill this month tho.

Got a few things to take care of today before heading off to work this afternoon. So far no dog walking jobs yet. They are a new company so will take awhile to build up clientele. They are having a big promotional event at their new store in San Marcos this weekend so hopefully that will help to drum up business!

Hope you all have a great day and month! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good afternoon everyone!

Said rabbits this morning and I need all the luck I can get, so hope it helps.

The weather on the east coast, or should I say MD, has been wet. Week before last, we had over a foot of rain and have had showers just about everyday since with more in the forecast. Today has been dry but it looks like more rain is moving in tonight. Sure wish we could send some of this rain out west to put out all the wild fires. That is so scary.

Steve received his new Medicare card last week and I'm waiting on mine.

We've had four 1/2 bushels of steamed crabs since we've been home which means we've also had lots of crab cakes and cream of crab soup. We have family coming up from NC for the weekend so we'll order another half bushel. One of the perks of being from MD.

Beth, thanks again for your hard work and making it possible for all of us to stay in touch.

Good Morning, still by 30 mins! Except for the heat/high humidity, I am fine. Nothing much else going on in my life. Older daughter is still up in Alaska, other daughter is working on getting her new leg. My son who lives in Big Bear never writes.

I did remember to say “rabbits” this morning. I’m going camping with the kids next week, Whoopi.

Slept in again, but then when I did get up I panicked when I remembered that I was supposed to make reservations in Phoenix for February because they opened at midnight! Would you believe almost everything was taken by 10 am in McDowell??? I called the phone line and managed to get six days in an acceptable spot, but then got busy with Usery reservations and was able to get four days there. After that I will head to New Mexico for March and April. Finally heading east after that.

And I did remember rabbits. I think we ALL learned how much this forum means for us because we share a love of being on the road. Obviously, Beth does need more help.

So nice to be back to hearing from everything regularly!!!

After work slows down I'll talk to Catherine and Judy and s what we can do to backup, etc. I appreciate the help. I also need to see what I have to do to make sure the forum stays in forum hands should something happen to me.

I THINK I said rabbits before anything else. I know it was the first thing said when I got up.... But I did get up to potty at some point and who knows what I may have said then.

Taking a break from the store. Will walk Ty then go back. Going to be a crazy couple weeks.

Good afternoon now. Was busy puttering around the house this morning. I spent most of yesterday at the hospital with my friend Malia. I think most of you know (as she posts on her blog and facebook so I am not telling tales) she has stage 4 lung cancer and is deemed terminal. She only had a biopsy of one of her lymph nodes but was done in surgery so that involved getting there 2 hours before, then the procedure, then the recovery. But I really didnt have anything else on my agenda so was happy to be there for her.

Of course I didnt say RABBITS first this morning. I think I will change it in my world to EMMA LOL cause that is usually my first word. Making a small pot roast in my 3 qt Instant Pot tomorrow. Got 3 roasts on sale the other day so I cut them in thirds, sealed them with my Food Saver and put them in the freezer for later. I like being able just to do a small one in the smaller Instant Pot. If I want to make a big one in my 8 qt then freeze it in do aheads that works too but since I am not going anywhere until after Labor day this will work.

I got my new medicare card last month. My new number is a bunch of gobbeldy gook. But I have it now.

I received the new Medicare card when I changed my name on my Soc. Security card. No SSN on the new Medicare card.

I have been reading her blog since you mentioned it on here. Thank you. I would not of known of it otherwise.

She sounds like a truly wonderful person, my kind of gal. So sad about her illness, really sorry to hear of her struggle.
