Hump day July 25th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Hump day July 25th

Mornin' ladies~~~
Is it really still hump day when you're retired? Still hanging out at camp driveway. RV is ready for the road again with new brakes & wheel bearings pack & Inspection. Yearly inspection found no other issues, including the roof, so good news on that front. Ford is in the shop this week for bumper repair from Monterray ding & oopsie in a CG the night before bringing the TT in.

Nothing else happening here. Have a good day ladies.

Good Morning All, The monsoon is still going strong on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. My one tomato plant is ginormous but no blossoms or tomato’s. Silly plant probably thinks it needs sun. We have intermittent sun when you think it’s safe to drive only to be caught in a terrifying downpour. Sooo, I have been trying new recipes. Zucchini bread, zucchini fritters and zucchini noodles. I am really sick of zucchini. I think peanut butter and jelly sandwich’s for dinner tonight. Safe travels.

I like fried zucchini but seldom ever fry anything. Now I'm going to have fried zucchini on my mind. lol I was looking in the freezer for something to cook and found one of the turkey roasts that comes in a pan. I hope I remember not to buy one of those again.

Yesterday I got stung twice on one finger by wasps. Boy, did that ever hurt. Of course I couldn't find any benadryl cream. I thought I had read that you could put toothpaste on stings and that actually helped with the pain.

I got most of the mowing done yesterday afternoon. I need to go get cat food but don't really want to go to town.

Good afternoon from the right coast!

Cheryl, I know what you mean about hump day when you're retired. Most weeks, I lose a day somewhere.

Shirl, I'm so tired of the rains we've been having in MD, but according to our local Baltimore station, it actually sounds like we've been spared and the western shore of MD is getting the worst of this storm, that won't leave.

Martha, your posts always give me a chuckle.

We have hired an attorney, who gave us a huge break financially, since we were referred to him by a paralegal, to see if we can recoup something, anything, for the shoddy work that plumber # 1 did to de-winterize our house and we had to hire plumber # 2 to fix the damage that plumber # 1 did. First course of action will be a demand letter to plumber # 1. If he ignores that, it will go to court. The re-plumb of the house was enormous so I hope this works.

Good afternoon. No new news here today. Still smokey still hot. Might be a little less smokey cause we had a bit of wind last night. I can see the outline of the hills across from me. Doesnt smell bad either. It just needs to go away NOW.

Going to make a Spice cake today. Havent made one of those for a long time. Will give half to my neighbor as a girl can only eat so much. Dont have enough zucchini yet to make bread. So this will suffice for now.
I did have 2 sliced tomatoes and scrambled egg for breakfast....LOVE home grown tomatoes.

Irmi hope you get some satisfaction. I just hate it when they do shoddy work and expect high pay.

I often orient myself to what day it is and where I am. That is what retirement and traveling will
do to you. Just waved good bye to Other Sharon after spending a wonderful day full of touring this area of Pennsylvania. Between the historic old homes and the mountains and the green lush valleys there was eye candy everywhere. Lunch was out in town and dinner was at Sharon’s. The dogs all got a meet and greet at Sharon’s House and Mr Rascal even chose not to notice when Audrey “ borrowed “ some of his toys.

I know it's late, but I made it to the Fleetwood factory service place in Corvalis, OR, and am camped with water and electric in their parking lot. Long drive, but am hoping they fix my slide that they fixed last April and that broke a few days ago, so it does not break again. Just made it under the 90 day warranty.

I learned something last night. I use Facebook mainly to keep up with relatives and a few old friends, but I have really been bored with it lately because I seem to be getting postings from only a handful of people--same people all the time. I have not heard from most of the 40 friends I have for the past several months, but when I went on their websites I saw a bunch of stuff that never appeared on my timeline. I wondered if they had de-friended me and was concerned at what I could have said to upset them all. So I did some research and found out that the "new and improved" Facebook mostly shows you stuff from people that you have responded to recently or clicked on "like" very recently. It assumes you no longer really care about the rest of the people!!

So, I went to my list of friends. Rolling over the names of each, I noticed that nearly all were set to the default of "see posts as usual." I reset 30 of them to "See First." This means any new posts they make will be be shown at the top of my newsfeed. BIG Difference!! Now I see almost everything they post. And I am seeing stuff from people I had not heard from for months.

I know Facebook keeps telling us about changes, but who has time to read all that stuff?? Anyway, thought some of you might not have discovered what I did last night.

Judy, Thank you for explaining about FB changes and how to bring back postings from friends. I did it and was surprised to see they limit the number of friends you can choose to 'see first' to 30. It also shows what ads are showing up on your page. I haven't figured out if you can delete any of those.
I hope you get your slide fixed this time.

Thanks for the FB info Judy. I went back and did that, so will see if I start hearing from people who have been "absent" for awhile.

Just got my AC unit. Will get that set up tonight. It is portable so just need to stick the hose in the window to vent.

Any ideas on how to clean mini blinds without taking them down? The ones in the porch are old and sticky. Haven't put them down before but did today since the sun was hot shining in. A lot of the slats are sticking together. Some of the blinds are about 8 feet wide.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
