Just another dog show weekend. This time up north in Oberlin, OH. Out in a big field with no hook ups. Grey and drizzly and hoping not blustering storms since we are grooming outside under pop ups! But camping here with friends and communal lunch and dinner planned so no matter how the day ends it should be a good day!

Another smokey weekend here. Doesnt do much for my allergies but it could be so much worse.

Big Country Crossing Festival here this week for a week. Means lots of traffic and congestion. Guess who is not going anywhere. I have been to the stores, have nothing to go out for. Wanted to shampoo my carpets but I like to open the doors and windows to help it dry out but I dont want to let the smoke in and last week it was way too hot. Guess I will just vacuum and call it good for a little while longer. We will be back in the triple digits on Monday so guess it will just be a while.

I need to reorganize my spare bedroom so that is an easy deal in this heat. I will then need to make a run to the donation center LOL still working on being a minimalist but think it is a lost cause.

Good luck Barbie on that virtual interview....sounds kind of crazy to me but interested to hear what it is all about.

I think me being a minimalist is a lost cause too. lol I have been going through my closet trying to find something to wear to a wedding. I know from past experience that I am more worried about what to wear than some that will attend. I found some things to go in the donate bag. Some of my pants are too big. I haven't had that problem in a long time. I'm trying to resist the urge to go shopping.

It's kind of overcast but going to be another hot day. Carol, have a good trip where ever you are going if you are going anywhere. Maybe this coming week I might be able to go to the lake. A cat has to go to the vet on Monday. Don't know if he will have to spend the night or not. That will take care of Monday and Tuesday. Something else will probably come up that I don't know about yet.

Morning ladies! Hope you have a wonderful day.
I don't often tote a product but I have to tell you about this stuff!
https://www.amazon.com/Tea-Tree-Therapy ... =srch&th=1
I was at a friends house and the skeeters were terrible and they love me. Her daughter let me use some of her Tea Tree Therapy Anitseptic Cream and low and behold the itch was gone. She picked me up a bottle at work and brought it home for me....it was $10.00. Amazon is a better deal. I also ended up with one of those darn underground zits that hurt like the devil, never come to a head and usually last forever. I applied this twice a day for two days and it was gone. The reviews on Amazon are almost all positive....I will agree that the squeeze bottle is a little too thick. People have also used it on their dogs for hot spots.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Another warm and humid day here. They keep forecasting the temps in the low 70's each day for Vista and yet we keep getting into the mid 80's everyday. The humidity is what is bothering me most. Any little effort around here and I am a sweaty mess.

Just committed an ant massacre. Apparently the scout ants found a stray piece of cat food in the hallway overnight and I found a long line of ants to it and followed it into the master bedroom to a corner they were coming in thru. Also found another line of ants coming in from the master closet. Had to eradicate all of them and plug up the holes in the corners with caulk where they were coming in. I am sure they will find other places to come in, as they always do. Just got rid of a bunch that were in my kitchen. Not sure what they were after since there was no food or crumbs laying around. I put down a new kind of ant food trap but those aren't attracting the ants at all, so will have to go back out and buy the other ones I used before, that work better. I am spraying them with Dawn and water since I don't want to be using any poison inside the house. That kills them on contact but doesn't deter them from coming back.
I keep the cat food dishes in a shallow pan of water to keep the ants out of them. Not sure how that one piece got in the hallway :? .

Martha, speaking of weddings, my nephew is getting married next March up in Paso Robles, CA and it is a formal wedding, so I need to find a long formal dress for that ($$$). I think I will check thrift stores and see what I can find first. I am on the shorter side and can't wear very high heals so no matter what I get, I will have to have it shortened which will cost money too. Would be nice to find one that I could eventually cut shorter to get more use out of, altho I rarely wear dresses anyways.

Pat, I will have to check that stuff out. I itch so bad from insect bites and am really bad about scratching them. I still have sores all over my legs from the flea bites I got a few weeks ago.

Have a good day!

Barbie I have heard of people buying great like new dresses from people online (maybe Facebook) - dresses people have purchased for cruises, weddings, etc. and only worn once or twice. Would be worth a try for you?

Barbie, I hope no one invites me to a formal wedding. lol If we lived closer I would hem things for you. That's about all the sewing I do now. Most of the jeans and pants I get are too long and I have to cut some off. Petites are too short.

Barbie, how about some long silky pants and a sparkly top? That is what I wore on a cross-atlantic cruise that required formal wear. Also wore it to a wedding. The long pants are sometimes very flowing so they look like a skirt, but aren't. It is really easy to then pick up another top for another event. Oh, and I love the iron-on hem tape for shortening things.

Well, I lost my nerve on the leaking sink problem. It is only a tiny leak, and I had a bucket under it and all my tools out, but was worried I would break something I could not fix, so will leave the bucket lined with paper towel to catch any drips and get the service place fix it on next Thursday when I go in to have my slides fixed again. Check out my recent blog for details--too long a story to tell here.

Oh, and I had to throw my sewer hose away the other day because it had a tear, so got out an old one I had, but found out today that it also has a leak, but at least I got my tanks emptied. Will pick a new one up at Walmart tomorrow when I go there.

So, baked some cookies to sooth my nerves, and back to getting some work done.

Barbie, if you have any friends or acquaintances about your size, check with them to see if they might have a dress you can borrow. Even if they aren't your size, check around anyway - maybe they have children or relatives close to your size.

I am a bit of s skinflint, I don't like to part with $$The Big Bucks$$ unless or until it is for something I really want or need. A high-priced, probably-wear-it-once-then-never-again, dress was definitely not in that category, even when my daughter announced she was getting married.

I hemmed and hawed for a bit, and ended up borrowing a very nice, very suitable dress (with a matching jacket, no less!) from a close friend who used to maintain a small costume collection! The dress was lovely, I was well-dressed for the event, no one knew the difference. I had the dress and jacket dry-cleaned after the wedding, and returned it to my friend.

No one was the wiser!! I even got several compliments on "my" dress.

I borrowed my first prom dress from a friend of mine. I have a very nice sequined dress that I bought for a cocktail work party but it is above the knee length. Luckily, I still have plenty of time to look for something. I just don't want it to look like a bridesmaid dress. Shoes will be a whole 'nother problem. I have long toes and narrow feet and can't wear high heels so that makes it hard to find something that is comfortable.
While I was looking on-line last week at dresses, I happened to find my dream wedding dress! Now I just need to find my dream man! If I ever get married it will be on a beach somewhere with just me, him, the minister, a witness and a photographer. Short, sweet and simple!

So, baked some cookies to sooth my nerves...

Judy, that always works for me too!
