Another Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Another Thursday

Postby Colliemom » Thu Jul 19, 2018 7:18 am

Morning. Sorry, can't think of anything catchy for a title today. Tells you things are same old around here. Even the weather. Sunshine and cool this morning, heading to around 82 today. No humidity though, so that makes it pleasant. That time of summer when things are just "summer", another season in the yearly scope of nature.

Did mow my "straw" yesterday. At least that's what passes for what grass there is here right now. Moved my trailer from where I keep it next to garage, under the shade of some trees so I can give it a bath off the dirt, finish up a bit of the trim on the box I just installed in front of the bed and start loading for next outing. Hoping my IPad will be finished at the repair place by tomorrow so I can go get that. Lot on my list the next couple of days with HOA meeting on Saturday morning and maybe going to Wood Shaving Days at Hartwick Pines State Park with friends Saturday afternoon, plus some grocery shopping etc.

Velda, know what you mean about the smoke and getting out. Hard on the eyes, throat etc. We had it pretty heavy here for awhile from a controlled burn last week, so I can imagine what it must be like for you with the ongoing fires out there. Ours was just temporary.

So, that's the story from here this morning. Hope you all have a nice day out there.

Mornin'~~~
Not much new here. Still hanging out in the Chitown burbs & for the TT brakes & wheel bearing maintenance to be completed. The Ford goes into the shop on Monday. Can't wait to get on the road again.

Past noon here but thought I would pop in for awhile. Cheryl sorry your having to wait on maintenance we have a wonderful family owned place here called Kamper Supply they sell and repair RV's. Do you know what direction you are going when everything is road ready? I think TIna and her crew are are heading this way the first week in August for a dog show. No prediction on weather, it could be anything the way this summer has progressed! Not much going on here, I think everyone got used to staying home to avoid the heat and now no one is wanting to do anything. I sometimes think Emma has a more active social life than i do!

BJ~ The only set plans right now are to be on the Mississippi & I-80 to camp with friends mid-August, then to Eagle River WI to visit another retiree from work. Thought maybe this year I'd head east then south, but may head back to SD for a bit. Can you say {{{jello}}}? :D

I had an eye doctor appointment this afternoon for my annual check up. Good for another year but things are still hazy. They dilate my eyes and then blind me with the lights.

Today was my son's birthday. He would have been 50. One of his ex-wives sent 3 flower arrangements for his grave. The other one wanted directions because she wanted to visit his grave. Too bad they couldn't have cared more for him in life. He had forgiven them but I don't think I ever will. There are no words for how much I miss him.

Martha, my sincere condolences on the loss of your son, and of your husband.

I'm not sure I could go on after such events. I salute, and admire, your strength.

Birthdays, anniversaries, holidays are always hard but especially first ones after someone passes. Cherish the memories and know that they are both near you in spirit.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
