Monday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Mon Jul 16, 2018 8:00 am

Morning everyone. Cloudy and humid here in the north country. Rain is expected and hopefully we will get it. It's been all around, but not here and we desperately need it. Seems like everybody's saying same thing for the most part except for some areas of the country. It's been quite warm too, in the mid 80's and very humid over the weekend. I am so ready for this 80 degree stuff to be gone. Getting a bit weary of wearing shorts and Tshirts everyday. Sometimes it's nice to just have to war long pants for a change. Will be glad when August comes as it's usually cooler as we head for fall. In fact, the first couple of weeks can be downright cooler, but who knows what the weather gods have planned. What will be will be.

Anne, glad to hear that your doctor finally figured out what's going on and you are on the mend Hopefully you can get out and enjoy life again and get back on the road. Gotta exercise that new trailer of yours :) Tina, I hear ya on the long distance driving stuff. I'm not into it as much as I used to be either. Have a feeling that I may take one more big long trip west and that might be it. Who knows. And as you and others have mentioned, budget plays a big part it what we do and where we go. This year I am staying in MI cause I can't afford to take big trip. But am sure taking the little ones here. This state has so much beauty and places to see, that one doesn't really need to go far to find it. Have reservations made for the next month, few days here, two weeks there etc. With breaks in between to come home, take care of things here and regroup for the next outing.

Today's project is to finish up the wood storage box I am redoing for my bed in the trailer. Took out the original prototype and am redoing it in lighter materials for one things and shortening it for another. Using paneling in place of the heavier lumber for the most part Need to go get some moldings this morning. Will take pics before I reinstall it and after it's back in place. Shortened it up a bit too.

So guess it's time to get moving here and head out. LY'all have a great day out there.

Too much excitement at 3:30AM yesterday morning! Transformer next door blew up they think caused by a lightening strike. The fire wasn't this way for long but would come and go! We were without power until one Sunday afternoon. Surprise was, some of us found their refrigerators, air conditioners and other appliances didn't come back on. We were lucky, all that seems to be out here is some lights and the TV in family room. Now we have to call an electrician but I am thinking the TV is toast :( so glad it didn't hit my computer which was next to TV but on different outlet. I am just thankful it didn't happen Saturday when the temperature was 97 with a heat index of 111 !! It only got up to 86 yesterday and was cloudy most of the day.

OMG BJ! what a horrible experience! YEA, Comic Con begins this week!!! Will go walking around town to see all the costumes. Around lunch time they will be out on the streets. Won’t take Benji with me into those crowds. He might get stepped on!

Wow BJ, that's scary ! Speaking of fire, the one to south near Yosemite, though only 6000 acres so far, is sending smoke our way, so breathing outdoors will be not fun. Yosemite is 135 miles south!
We are scheduled for a quiet week. Mel had a low blood sugar this morning that worried me even more because when he tried to take his glucose gel, he choked on it. He is ok now.
I found a man who will work on Mel's truck here at the house and hope we will have it running tonight. I really need to get it to smog checked and renewed.
Very warm here and not good on lungs, thank goodness for AC. I keep thinking about all Sues fun shorter trips and hope I can find places nearby eventually to enjoy as I divest myself of accumulated possessions with a plan for Chris (disabled older son) and I to leave CA.
Everyone stay safe and enjoy your day.

Good morning from N. Central CA. Beautiful blue sky here today.

Velda - if you leave CA where will you head to?

Linda, I have no clue yet. I know it won't be Minnesota where younger son lives as its just too cold and between Mosquitos and ticks in summer, no thanks! Maybe southwest though I'm not fond of desert. Will be looking at everything form weather to politics in choosing. Also which states have best veterans benefits.

Just noon here in SoCal. Sunny and warm already. The predicted high is 72 but is already 82, so they are way off. No breeze today either so will feel even warmer. Need to get the fans going.

Just haven't had much energy lately. Kind of feeling down in the dumps but don't know why. :(

Beth, congrats on the new pup. Hope it works out well for you both!

Read on FB that Linda (bikerchic) got a new travel trailer. I think that will suit her and her dogs better than the class B. It looks like the same layout as Lyn's trailer.

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
