Quiet Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Quiet Sunday

Postby BirdbyBird » Sun Jul 15, 2018 8:16 am

Well it is a quiet Sunday here anyway. No dog shows this weekend so just catching our breath and then will prepare for the next three weeks or so. Josef and Lark are out on the deck "wrestling" with Audrey watching on and admiring their stick collecting skills with the results displayed around the deck. I am amazed with the differences the outside temperature have on my energy and outlook on the world. So many things feel so much more possible when the humidity comes down and the temps moderate. Otherwise I seem to fall into slug mode and barely make it through the motions of the day. Good thing the dogs are patient with me.

Josef and I are planning on being in Oberlin, OH, next weekend for a show then he will go home with his other mother Cindy for a week or so while I head east to visit the kids in Brewster, NY, for a weekend. There were only two weekends in their schedule where the two older boys would be with their mom and my son would be home. Apparently work is busy, busy this summer and he is traveling frequently. Josef had already sent his entry in for an Ohio show that weekend but Cindy is going to take him along with a couple of her other dogs and will show him. As soon as I make the drive back to Ohio I will pick Josef up and drive west to BJ's neck of the woods for a show in Marion, IL, the first weekend in August. Or as I told Cindy, I get to attend an inside dog show with AC and visit with a friend! A perfect combination.

As I drive around this summer either in the rig or in the van, I am appreciative that I can still drive around. Though my endurance for long distances is not what it used to be in my youth, there is still that wonderful feeling of being able to get up, decide to go and go without over planning everything.

Remember the forum "personal chef" will fix up what ever you order so don't limit you morning coffee requests by what might or might not be in my kitchen. Whatever joys and sorrows we have in life, our imagination can still lift us up if we call it forth!

Good morning!! Just another lazy day at the beach, we’re having a good time but I find I miss the comforts of home. The place we’re staying has a hugely oversized sectional sofa as the only seating option, I may have enjoyed it in my younger days but now I feel like a turtle on its back every time I try to get out of it! Thankfully the bed is comfy. :D

Hope everyone is having a lovely summer.

Good morning
Weather has been nicer with the monsoons. I don't even mind the humidity. Been working out in the yard alot lately. With all the park models moving out i was able to salvage a bunch of redwood lattice to put around as skirting to contain the dogs. Still have 6 ft to go across the driveway and patio to bd able to just open the door and let them out. Although they love their walks outside the back gate, it isnt going to make for an easy "get ready for work" mornings when school starts. Abby has really come out of her shell, shes pretty funny little dog. No way is she 11 years old like they claim. More like 8 ! She seems to be very smart, watches me like a hawk!
I wanted to take a little trip up north for a few days just to get away, but daughter called and she has another medical procedure scheduled and then i have sons birthday. Would not make a very pleasant get away trying to rush and squeeze it in between dates on the calendar.
Check engine light keeps coming off and on in my car. Fault code says catalytuc convertor, so thats a must do by october as it wont pass emmissions that way. Definately a few $$$ there.
So many changes going on with everybody, i dont even pretend to keep track, have a hard enough time keeping track of my own day to day stuff, but i lurk and wish you all well.
Ya'll enjoy your day.

Mornin' ladies & all that read only ;)

Mickie what a visual! Thanks for the morning giggle. Doing a quick load of laundry at Camp Orland Park then heading to Indiana Dunes for one night of camping in order to get the TT in to get the wheel bearings packed & yearly inspection tomorrow. I think Punk & I both need time away from the folks. Dad is...well Dad  & Ma is again fighting a move. Not much I can do at this point because I do not have POA. Short of jumping thru legal hoops, not much else i can do.

That's it from me. Have a good day ladies and stay safe where ever you are.

Haha. Stayed at an rv park last night for a.c.... Using electric heater this morning. :) I'm meeting someone at 10. Will head back to Keystone after the gtg, in the rain. Been raining lightly for a few hours. I hope it stays light.

Ava/Alice... I thought the work was temporary. Are you back full time? I must have missed something.

Cheryl....stay strong. As we know POA only means that you can sign things for them. As I would explain to my step mother when she wanted to pull something over my dad in those last months. My having his POA would NOT allow me to sign or agree to something that I knew my dad did not want or agree with. Only a guardianship would have allowed that. As doctors pointed out to me, may people are still competent in the legal sense...competent to make bad decisions......

Hoping that reason will win out......

Good morning, Ava.

Please lurk less! :D I always enjoy reading your posts, whether they are about your vanishing neighbors or your dogs. Really have enjoyed reading about Abby, so glad that you have found one another. More pix, please, as you have the time!

I seem to have missed where you have gone back to work. Is it full or part time? Temporary or permanent?

Hope you can get out again in the motorhome soon. I do so enjoy reading about your adventures. Ava, next time you get over my way, be sure to give me a shout and maybe we can do a mini-GTG. I would enjoy meeting you.

Happy also to hear about the Monsoon. It is very warm here near Sacramento - weather.gov says 102 - 104 degrees for the next seven days or so; possible highs around 110 in my area. Terrible fire conditions here due to this hot and dry weather. Much too warm for me. Still madly searching for a home in Klamath Falls on Zillow, but still haven't found the "right one" as yet - and am still unable to travel to take a look, even if I did find it, due to my leg.

Still recovering from my leg infection - will be 5 weeks I have been ill on Wednesday. But I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. It has been a slog. I don't remember ever being quite so ill, for quite so long a time. Finally was able to see my primary care physician - he believes I have had a virus infection in my leg, not a bacterial infection. He is the only one, when I told each care provider, that it "started with a mosquito bite in Yellowstone", that heard "Yellowstone" and not just "mosquito bite". The area where I live is famous for being bad for mosquitoes - but the pathogens carried by the mosquitoes in Yellowstone are quite different than the pathogens carried by the mosquitoes here. Yellowstone is located in part of the Rocky Mountains.

He believes that I was infected by an unknown and un-named virus from the mosquito bite. Which would finally explain why I have been so very ill, and why none of the mountains of antibiotics I have been taking over the past month have had little to no effect.

He has prescribed Prednisone to take care of the remaining swelling and inflammation, as he feels that the virus has gone after so long a time. And antibiotics don't work with a virus, anyway. My leg has (finally! finally!) begun to noticeably improve over the last couple days.

Can't wait to get back to being myself. Had a three-week Oregon trip planned, campsites reserved and paid for that I had to cancel. Too hot now to go anywhere, but Autumn is coming.

It sounds like it wants to rain again. I am suppose to go meet my son and his girlfriend for a meal today. Looks like it will be a very late lunch. I had a week moment yesterday and picked up a hamburger from McDonald's. Their 1/4 pounder was good after I brought it home and doctored on it. I only eat half the bun so had the other half for breakfast as toast. You know we can't throw food away unless it green. I actually made it to the farmers market in town yesterday but there wasn't much there. Mostly crafts and canned things.

Tina, the slug mode is where I am most of the day. I try to walk with Hank between 6 and 7 in the afternoon. It's hard to get much else done outside before dark. Yesterday I went fishing at the pond and it was almost dark before I headed back. We are trying to kill the weeds in the small pond so if I catch any fish I transfer them to the large pond. I'm surprised the mosquitoes weren't that bad. Last week I got bit by one when I was on the porch trying to get the house cats in for the night. The bite is still red and itching. I hope I'm not going to start having strange reactions.

My camping group is going to the beach in Mississippi next weekend but all 270 sites are booked so I'm not going to the beach. I have an eye doctor appointment Thursday afternoon and I wouldn't be able to leave until Friday anyway. They usually camp starting on Wednesday.

I got a letter from the Louisiana Dept of Revenue wanting a copy of Harold's death certificate. You don't know how badly I want to tell them that if I wanted another copy of his death certificate I would have to order it from the state. It looks to me like one state department could work with another.

Ok, i went back to work driving thd schoolbus where i used to. Its considered part time with no benefits. Dont need them, have my medicare advantage, so even though im at the bottom of the
pay scale i will have more take home pay. Its temporary to me, i can walk away anytime but i can also take time off without any repurcussion on my work record. That part kind of gives me a little freedom but ya'll know me, i like to be dependable and since we get so much time off from school anyway, ig will all work out. My goal is to save some $$$ to put down a down payment on some property and set up home base. I also need a jeep but that means financing and higher insurance. Told the school district i would do one more school term. We will see where my budget goes next may. My life is so jello right now.!!

Glad your leg is doing better, Ann, and your doctor has solved it.

Still in Pacific Beach with wonderful weather but heading back to Corval OR because slide roller has come loose again after I spent a ton of money getting it fixed last April. :x

Ava, I don't know about you but going back to work and knowing that you can get off if you should want or need to and knowing that you could walk if you wanted to, makes going to work a lot less stressful. Having particular fun dreams that the money can support also makes it better. I always remind myself that if I wanted to sit in my chair and read all day and not go traveling or to dog shows I could live within my current retirement monthly deposit.....but some day I may not be able to travel so until then, I too will work that seasonal scoring position so that I can play and have better choices!

I kind of wish I had found another job after I got laid off. I thought I would be able to travel more but that didn't work out. I could have worked another 10 years before Harold had his stroke.
