Sunshine Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunshine Monday

G’Morning all. Been AWOL as Carolb likes to say. Just got back from 5 days of camping over the 4th and been busy playing catch up with things and on here as well. Had a great time on the trip, made some new camping friends and even got to have a “mini” GTG with Claudia and her DH over lunch. Sorry to hear so many of you had issues with neighbors and fireworks, scared 4 leggers etc. My 4th was so quiet, had to remind myself it was a holiday. No fireworks are allowed in our State Parks of course and there were only a couple muffled booms that night on the lake. Guess it was quiet here too when I got home. Apparently nobody bothered with fireworks. MI has a state law which bans use of them except for a period of 36 hours before and 36 hours after the holiday. Some towns and municipalities also have ordances regarding their use within that period as well.

Also see a number of us are having these can’t sleep or waking up in middle of night, then falling asleep when it’s wake up time. What’s with this?

Shopping and bit of yard work on agenda today. Gotta give my plants a drink. It’s so dry here they are wilting. Got more camping reservations lined up and am working to add some more onto to my already booked August trip. Parks are so busy here, gotta fit in a couple days at one, move to another etc.. But I want to travel around a bit any way. Have a nice day everyone.

Gmoring Sue & all to follow :)

Sue, Welcome Back! I tried to fill your shoes by opening MC a couple times, just not the same as having you there. Glad you had a good trip!

I hadn't been following the fire situation, scary, but heartwarming stories of helping the animals:) Many of you still battling heat, I hear you. Happy to report ours is over for a bit...Sorry about Mel's continued pain... sleepless/restless nights for many...

Well, hope today brings better things to all! Have a great one 8-)

Good morning gals! :D

I slept out on the porch again last night. This time with a memory foam pad on the futon which was much more comfy. Feels kind of like camping out here!

Not sure what I will do today. Supposed to be cooler in the mid 80's, so we'll see. Still too hot to paint inside. Got a few smaller things I need to do so would be a good day to get those done. Have tomorrow off as well.

Have a good day!

It's only 78 here but that's because it's raining. There is a chance of rain all week so don't know when I will get any mowing done. I want to go to Lafayette but might not get that done until tomorrow. My grandson's birthday is Wednesday and I forgot to get him a card. I ordered him something on line and had it shipped. Sure beats shopping.

Glad you had a good trip Sue. I still don't know when I will go somewhere. The dog still has a week of medicine I have to give him.

Yesterday I made a batch of my favorite cookies. I only baked 6 and froze the rest. I can't have a full batch of those hanging around.

I saw on FB that Soos bought a new TT. Does anyone here have any info on it or seen any pics yet? I couldn't find any on FB.

Martha, as my grandkids are getting older and much more picky, I have moved to gift cards only for birthdays. Will get them something small to go with gift cards for Christmas, but they are happy shopping for themselves and I don't waste money buying them something they won't use.

Cool and breezy here on the ocean, although a bit hazy! If you have never stayed at Pacific Beach State Park, it is only of the very few state parks where you are directly on the ocean--no long walks through dunes. You need to get into sites 17 through maybe 23 to have a direct view of the creek that opens into the ocean and the huge beach and ocean, but the sites across the road also have a bit of a view. electric only. I stayed here a couple of years ago with my son and his family, and they are joining me on Thursday this year for four days as well. Kids love the creek and kite flying. Sun and warmer weather expected later this week.
