Cool Monday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cool Monday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Mon Jul 02, 2018 7:10 am

Morning. Nice and cool, no humidity 60’s here this morning. Front came through last night with some rain. Not a lot to really do much good, but did give grass and water a drink. Supposed to head back up into 80’s this week, but no humidity with it. Martha, we have this type of weather, especially 90’s very rarely here, so AC is not a common thing in homes here. Some have window AC units and there are a few who may have central air. But by and large we don’t really have need for it. I have lived in this house for two years and I think maybe once, having AC a couple days might have been nice but otherwise not necessary. Same at my last house. Had a couple of window AC units but some summers didn’t use them hardly. We just ride it out with closed up houses and fans. I do have AC in my trailer, but can’t use it as I don’t have enough amps in my garage to run it without blowing the breaker or burning out the AC. I heard yesterday that our local county park campground had a blown transformer. Probably from all the AC units going in the campground.

I’m heading out this morning for the U.P. And a week of camping,. Have a wedding this weekend so will be home in Friday. Speaking of weddings, was so nice to see the picture Liz posted of she and Bob on FB yesterday. I’m sure she will do same on here eventually. I believe from remarks I saw, they were off to St. Augustine. Maybe going to hit that “Fountain of Youth”

Gotta get moving here. Still some stuff to put in trailer as was too hot to do it otherwise. Have a nice day everyone. Keep cool, those in the heat waves and stay safe on roads and in storms.

Good morning gals!

Sue, have fun on your camping trip up north!

Haven't been on FB for awhile so will have to go over and look for Liz and Bob's photo.

Spent the whole day at the Fair yesterday. Perfect weather as usual. I spent a little more than I should have but did use restraint on several things I wanted but just knew I couldn't really afford. Food there is horribly expensive. Ended up just getting a slice of pizza ($6), a small soft serve ice cream cone ($6) and cheese on a stick ($5). Everything else was $8 on up to $15. Luckily, I brought my own water bottle and was able to keep filling that up as needed.

Saw a wildlife show and got to pet an adorable possum! Also saw a butterfly garden, floral exhibit (which I want to participate in next year), photography exhibit, and gem and mineral exhibit. Was a fun day but my legs were starting to cramp up by the time I left 8 hours later! Slept good last night!

Nothing planned for today. Need to put clean laundry away and maybe a few other things before heading to work later this afternoon.

We also have a community BBQ here on the 4th of July. No plans for fireworks viewing yet tho. Not thrilled with the idea of traffic and crowds.

Have a good day! (I did remember to say "rabbits" yesterday! :D )
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Busy morning here after being gone for 10 days. Laundry of course. Also want to change the sheets and towels but think tomorrow for that. Had to vacuum after traipsing in and out when loading and unloading. I want to shampoo my carpets and think I will do that this week some time.

Making meatloaf in my Instant Pot today so I can have leftovers for meatloaf sandwiches. Will have salmon and some cauliflower that I have to cook for lunch. I need to start making a few more meals to freeze so I can just pull them out of the freezer for a quick heat up. This will require a trip to the grocery store of course ha ha I need to get back on my low carb diet as I ate pretty darn good while camping and gained a couple of pounds back....so time to get back to it.

Linda, we did not have any salmon. Will do that next time tho as Laura does it very well. We had oysters instead.

Barbie our fair starts July 11th and I would love to go if it isnt too hot. It is usually close to 100° and that so doesnt interest me so not sure yet if it will happen.
Sue have a great trip and hope you have good weather.

Have some plans to attend the Stillwater Pow Wow in Anderson CA Oct 5-7th still need to make some plans for July, Aug, Sept

It's a smoky day here from the Yolo/Napa fire up north. Headed to 90's but 80's for 4th!
All quiet here. Mel has less pain today, so that's good.
Karen, you might put up a GTG post on the Pow wow. I know if I wasn't caregiving, I'd like to travel north for that as I've always wanted at go to a pow wow.
Also Karen, do you rent a rug shampoo machine or own one. I'm looking at getting one.
Hope everyone else is having a good afternoon!

I bought my own rug shampooer. Then every few years I have the professionals come in but this one does a pretty good job. It is a Hoover. When I got the puppy last April I used it alot LOL

I got the motorhome inspected. I ended up having to drive 20 miles to a tire shop that does inspections. I figured if I didn't get it done today it wouldn't get done until next week. We are suppose to have a lot of rain the rest of the week. The weather channel is talking about something developing in the gulf. It's just off the coast so don't think it could develop much.

Sue, one of the best things we ever put in is an electric box for my motorhome. I have a new one that I would like to get put up if I ever have to get an electrician for something. I was looking for the new box last week and couldn't find it. I don't know how I can lose so many things.

They are getting ridiculous with the price of fair food. The last funnel cake I got was not even cooked enough. I'll just keep making my own when I want one.

Great pictures. Whoever did the Raccoon carving did a good job. I might not have been brave enough to hold the birds but really nice picture. When I was little friends had a parrot and it was a great mimic. If someone came to the door it would yell 'come in". It would also yell at us kids to come in when we were outside playing. We never paid attention and would tell their mom we thought it was the parrot calling when she got onto us when we did show up.
