Beautiful! Thank you for sharing. One of these days I'm going to get there again. My parents bought their first travel trailer when I was 15 and took our family on a cross country trip. We each got to choose 4 spots anywhere in the continental US and this was one of my choices! I was enthralled. I'm still thankful for that trip. I know that is why I am a camper to this day.

Wow, I know I will miss some...not in this order, obviously!
Crater Lake, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Mt Rushmore, Grand Canyon, Badlands, Mesa Verde, my Aunt's house in TX, (and from my sister) Rodeo Drive, a waterpark in CA, Universal Studios - I think...I remember they had a Jaws ride haha. My Dad sure took one for the team on that portion :)
And it was so long ago that it was perfectly fine to put your daughters, all the stuff teenage girls need and a mattress into the truck cap and tour the country! Black truck, black metal truck cap. Oh how we stunk!

good memories for sure
(my grandparents lived in Rapid City SD so those weren't vacations just seeing the Grandparents) So the actual two vacations we took my sister called them the 7 day wonders ...I think was the term....
the fact he was a rancher and was able to leave for 7 or 10 days was differently a wonder  one year we went to visited some aunts and uncles in the Bend area and Gilcrest then saw Crater Lake then down the coast Hwy 1 now we came from Jackson Wy not seen anything of that nature the ocean crashing upon the rocks straight down and straight up...one of my brothers was very nervous remember my dad saying "H... Bob if your that nervous eat an apple (for some reason at the ag check they had let us keep our apples :o Think they knew where we had gotten them) so he did about as I recall 4 in 5 minutes...we still laugh about it then we were on the Golden Gate Bridge Dad got in the middle of it and wanted off now  !!! asked the Gate keeper how to do so they stopped I believe 7 lanes it was a lot of lanes for this Wyoming car to make a big u turn ...Fond memories another trip was to golly can't remember the cavern some where in NM or TX think that was the trip we saw the Grand Canyon we drove across the border at can't spell it and turned around he was great at that was in MX about 10 mins. yep lots packed into 7-10 days
