July 1st - Rabbits Day!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

July 1st - Rabbits Day!

Postby Colliemom » Sun Jul 01, 2018 7:10 am

Morning everybody. Forgot Rabbits as first words were to dogs during the night, in response to a wake up and let me out request

Scorcher here yesterday. Official temp was 97,my thermometer read 100 in late afternoon. Way out of norm and above average for up here. Have had house closed up but was getting warm yesterday even with fan going. AC in these parts is a rare thing except for window ones as we seldom need them. Cold front coming through tonight will knock this stuff outta here. Goi g to be glad when I head out this week with trailer and it’s AC. If I need it by then.

By now, Liz is happily married and probably on a honeymoon. Wishing all the happiness in the world for them. And I am going to head off here and start my day, let you all report in and wish you all a wonderful Sunday.

Mornin' Sue & all that follow~~~
I have yet to remember Rabbits! I think about it the day before then, poof it's gone in the morning. Still at Camp Orland Park. Going to see another place tomorrow with Ma. Think she may realize that she needs to move since her cardiologist mentioned it to her last Thursday. Fingers crossed.

Another 100°+ day with heart index & 90s most of the week. Told dad next year I'm coming in October. Not much else here. Have a good day ladies.

Good morning! I actually remembered to say “rabbits” this morning! So hope July is a good month! Was thinking about Liz yesterday. So happy for her. Hope to see a picture or two from her sometime soon! Lyn, you mentioned the other day about me coming west at some point. Since I lived in the west off and on throughout my life and never really in the east, I kinda want to see things this side of the US. No real desire to head west. Sometimes would rather remember how it was and not how it is now! Perhaps short sighted of me but there it is! As much as I admire those of you that travel full time I realize that just isn’t me. A few days here and there and I’m ready to come back to home base. Sue, bet the lower temps will feel good to you. We have several more days of the excessive heat in the forecast. The 80’s will feel good when they come! Not getting much done outside, just staying in the air conditioning and doing things inside! The dogs are even staying in most of the time! Martha, love your new rv! Hope you make many happy memories in it. Tina, hope you and pups do well at the show and manage to stay cool. And Barbie, have fun at the fair today. Irma, glad you made it back to MD safely.

So enough rambling from me! Hope you all have a great day and travel safe!

Good Morning, My first word was also to the dogs during the night. Mitzi decided she heard something and wanted everyone to know she was on duty. Good idea Cheryl to return in October, much prettier time of the year and no heat waves. I am tired of reading and trying to keep me and the dogs entertained. I ordered the dogs some new toys which should arrive today, I love Amazon. Sue glad it is cooling off up your way. Take care and keep cool if you are in the heat!

Good morning
Forgot rabbits, even forgot it was july !
But thought id' check in for roll call since I dont post very often. I do try to keep
track of everyone but some days its hard to post anything happy. Although im super happy for liz !
And, for those not on fb, my little foster girl Abby is here to stay. She was so sick when she first
came to me and after a long week of good care and another week of recoop, her little loving personality started to shine through. Shes a love bug and very friendly!
Working on some local travel plans for later in July, hopefully a few days up in Williams. Will see how my work schedule and budget goes, but im looking forward to it and trying hard to make it happen.
Its just been too long since ive been anywhere.
Ya'll have a great day, be safe.

It's now afternoon. I wrote a good morning greeting and a post, but apparently it got lost in cyberspace, because it's not on the forum. I just want to wish Liz much happiness and suggest that Martha take a little trip north to New England in her "new" motor coach. I'll be home this summer to meet up with anybody who comes this way. Enjoy today. Peggy

Still morning here, but not for much longer. Had a good night's sleep... Getting away, even for that short time, is good for me. All my shopping is done, rv losses and still head to the store now to unload, then back to my space and hopefully relax the rest of today.

Really looking forward to pics from Liz. :)

Late last night Mel and I were talking when I glanced at time, and it was 11:58. I said "gotta remember to say rabbits, rabbits, rabbits" . Mel looks at me like I'm nuts but asks, so what is that about. I told him that' it's said that if your first words in a new month is rabbits, you will supposedly have good luck. So we sat here in bed, watching the clock turn and when it read midnight we both declared rabbits rabbits rabbits several times. Sure hope it works.
Only news here is new wheel chair ramp going in in about 2-3 weeks. And Mel hopes to go on some short trips with wheelchair. Guess I better work on my muscles lifting chair in and out of PT! He is trying to eat more and requested my Dutch Baby again so he got that, an egg and bacon. That's a good sign.
Wishing Liz and her new husband all the best.

Good Afternoon

Not much for me to post about other than heat, humidity and things needing repair. :( I did enjoy a ride to lunch with Sling friends today, visited the birthplaces of Robert E. Lee and George Washington Friday. Last weekend I attended the dance recital of my great niece.

My time in Virginia will end Thursday as I move to Assateague Island in Maryland for a week. After that I'll be crossing the country to Washington on a bit of a time schedule.

Thrilled for Liz and Bob! He is such a nice man and definitely brings a smile and a twinkle to Liz's eyes. :) Martha also wins for surprise news with her lovely new to her MH! Love that little Miata! Velda, you and Mel are always in my thoughts and prayers. Anxious to hear about Catherine's cruise. Lyn, always good to have news of your daughter.

Wishing you all the best for the month of July!

Velda, I hope Rabbits at midnight works for us. For once I remembered.

I didn't feel like cooking so went to get a lunch at the grocery deli. I would like to know where they get the chickens they BBQ. Not much bigger than a cornish hen. When I look for chicken to cook it's all so big with a lot of fat.

I washed a load of jeans this morning. Instead of running the dryer in this heat I hung them on the line. My last electric bill went up form $104 to $164. I bet the next one will be close to $200. Sue, I don't know how you stand 97 degrees without air conditioning. I think I would have gone out to the camper and ran the air conditioner. The cats that like to go outside in the day time have decided an afternoon nap in the air conditioning is better.

Ava, glad you get to keep Abby and I'm sure she is glad too.

The motorhome is parked in the driveway and plugged into our 50 amp service. We have gone into the house several times, getting it opened, windows opened, sprayed air freshener and put out room deodorizers. Plumbers are coming early in the morning to de-winterize the house and we'll do it all over again in a few months. Steve just husked some fresh corn we bought yesterday that we'll have with our dinner. I was so pleased to see the picture of Liz & Bob on FB. He got himself a real gem.

Late, as usual. Drove 240 miles today. It seems to get harder and harder to stay awake on long drives. Maybe more sleep would help??? I was up late last night finishing something for my class I had put off, so getting up was hard this morning. At least I will be staying two nights in next two campgrounds on way to beach campground in Washington. I did pick up some prescriptions on the way, and tomorrow I have another long drive, but am going to stop at one of my favorite bakeries and stock up. They have croissants with cheese and ham baked into them, and I like to get several to freeze for on-the-road lunches. Also will get a couple of almond bear claws.

Also, some good news. I have lost 20 pounds in last four months! All that walking in the UK and problems with my IBS have caused it. (I am working on eating better now that I am home, and am going to see a doctor about the IBS. Saw one several years ago, but need an update.) Anyway, I have tossed out all my larger shorts and been taking in the waists of my old smaller sized shorts. Going to stop tomorrow and get myself a couple of smaller cheap t-shirts, as many of the ones I have look baggy now. Just wish my upper arms were also not so baggy!

Forgot rabbits again, as usual.

Had a great 10 days of camping. Enjoyed the coast with Sandi and Linda. Then inland with Laura. We had pretty darn good weather the entire camping trip. A little windy in Bandon but still able to enjoy the sun. Inland was warm but we had a great breeze most of the time so that was super relaxing.

Drove home today and my gardener had been here YIPPEE. Since I broke my elbow my Ortho doc instructed me not to use any equipment that vibrates (hedge trimmer I use alot), so I am grounded in that area. Jose did a great job so I am happy. Have laundry in now and still putting things away. Motorhome all unloaded and parked over at our storage yard.

Of course I forgot to say Rabbits. I remembered last night but that didn't help me today ha ha Oh well I tried.

My community is having a July 4th BBQ so I signed up for that. Wont have to cook that day.

Hope everyone has a good July 4th.

Karen - glad you got home safely and were cautious enough not to mess up your elbow. Did Laura BBQ her special salmon for you both
on this trip? So nice to get away isn't it? I had lots of traffic all the way from Sac to my 205 turn off.

So enjoyed meeting you and Laura in Bandon.

Broke my favorite shepherd's hook my grandson's father in law has a welder am hoping he can repair it...but it needs to be bent back into shape (the foot for lack of a better word) and that is the part that needs to be welded back on so will see one day soon perhaps will take it over on Weds. or the weekend been wanting more any way so perhaps I will do that and then if it can be fixed all the better...
