Heating Up Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Heating Up Friday

Morning all. Home from 3 days of camping. Hated to leave my nice lakeside, in the shade site, but it was reserved from now till fall,so gotta get off. Was nice while it lasted. Could probably have gotten a first come first serve site for today, but this particular park has lost over 400 hundred trees to disease and is pretty much all open now. Don’t want to be sitting out in this hot sun. Did some bumming both days, some relaxing, lots of dog walks and evening campfires. Will be leaving again on Monday for another few days. This time to the U.P. Trailer is parked under the trees in my front yard for now.

Been trying to catch up on the past week’s posts. Miss a few days and you miss a lot. Tina, hope you survive the heat atvthe dog show, Catherine, have a fun time on the cruise, Beth, send some rain here, we need it. How’s business at the store so far this summer? Seems everybody’s traveling westvthis year. Martha, congrats on the new MH. Bet you can’t wait to go on a camping trip now. Cheryl, hope you find the right place for your mom and she likes it enough to move in.

Guess I better get the breakfast dishes taken care of and head to town, beforevit gets too hot. Enjoying the last cool morning we will see for awhile. Going to close up the house and ride out the heat wave. Y’all have a nice day, stay cool and safe out there.

Friday June 29

My time does fly seems like we were all saying 'Rabbits" just a few days ago! Terrible storms here last night, our power was off from 7:30 to 1:30 I was freaking out!! We are under an excessive heat warning and I was trying to figure out where I could go with 3 dogs!! And how I was going make my morning coffee. Finally realized gas stove would light with a match and I could boil water. I was so relieved when it came back on. Lots of limbs down but nothing major. Its been an overly exciting week .Our next door neighbors were robbed at 10:30 AM!!! Monday by a guy on foot. We have an extra lot and it has big trees that hide their house and the guy went in through a garage window. He did leave lots of fingerprints on the back door window but doubt they ever find him. He was on foot and I can't understand how no one saw him go around their house. DH had our garage door open and the people across have a huge picture window and dogs who also watch. Mine barked but I thought it was a rabbit or deer, they bark so much I ignore them unless they go to the door. This is a quiet U shaped street, no sidewalks and not a lot of traffic. A woman down the street saw the guy as he was walking toward main road and took note as he seemed uneasy and took off running. She described him down to what he wore in his hair! I so hope they find him. I have a Skype appointment with a young man in NJ in a bit to do hypnosis/reiki for an emetophobia phobia. It is a fear of throwing up and I have worked with another person for this with good results so hoping it will help him. Of course my Skype account picked today to make me re sign in as they have made some major changes and it was a MAJOR pain. Finally got it though now hope it works when it's time to call him.
Keep cool if you are in the heat warnings!!

Sorry to hear about the heat. I was planning on spending next summer (2019) in the Michigan/Ohio area, but maybe I will need to head farther north, like into Canada! Last summer was really hot there, also, wasn't it?? My other concern about the east is the mosquitoes because I get a strong reaction to them and end up in urgent care for prednisone and antibiotics. I can't remember such heat growing up in Michigan, or so many mosquitoes. And I guess your neighbors will either have to protect their garage better or trim some trees so their house and garage is more visible.

Just arrived in West Yellowstone for two nights and then on to Montanta, Idaho, and Washington state. I spent five nights in Yellowstone National Park camping at Madison and Canyon Campgrounds, but absolutely no Verizon data service at all. (Son and his family stayed in park lodges, but no Verison data there either, and could only text in a very few places.) Drove out out of the park one day to catch up on stuff and deal with a student who said he took the exam but did not receive a score even though his usage log says he was not online the entire time the exam was open! I warned them in big print in three places and even sent out an email about the exam and how they must make notes to themselves to take it because I would not allow them to take it late. Wonder how they expect to manage a real job when they forget to complete major assignments like a final exam???? And these students are mid to late 20s, and even older, not 18-year-olds!!!!

So, going to make some banana bread and relax today because I will have two full days of driving starting Sunday.

Hi All, this will count as my post on the 1st as I haven't been doing much posting lately. First of all, I'm fine except for old age ackes and pains! Still reading lots and continue to walk Benji four times a day. Our temperature here today is 69* high and 64* low!!! When they say San Diego has the shortest thermometer in the country, thats what they mean!

Liz, you have completed a wonderful cruise, and now tomorrow is the big day!!! Wishing you and Bob nothing but the most happiness in your marriage !
(I loved the cruises I'be been on and would like to do more now that I cannot walk long distances)
Barbie, have fun at the Fair! I used to love to go.
Carolb, keep on posting, it is good to hear from you often! Any plans to come west in the near future?
Judyjb, hope you have a good trip on the next leg of your trip. Sounds like fun with your family in Yellowstone.
And, Carolinagal, Carol, are you coming west in near future? Sounds like the boxes are all unpacked!
Irmi, have you and Steve left for MD yet? Hope the tachycardia is controlled by the medication you are on. I miss you guys.
Tina, best of luck at your dog shows. A big hug to you and the pups, and, give Cheryl and/or Eileen a big hug from me if you see them.
OtherSharon, why don't you come west too!!! Quartzsite is always a good time to GTG.
Martha, now that you have that snazzy new to you motor home, with the really snazzy tow car, why don't you come out to Q?!?!?!?!
OK, those at the OR GTG, did you use up all the bail money?!?!?!

Why not a caravan from east to west in January?!?!?!? lyn

Lynn,

I didn't want to keep you in the dark, and Steve & I are in MD. We are staying in a campground for the weekend because our house is winterized and has no running water. So we will stay here, go home on Sunday, with a full tank of fresh water, until the plumbers get there Monday to do their thing. Then we'll do it all over again in a few more months. It's very warm here, so we requested a site with a 50 amp service so we could run 2 a/c's. We also have a 50 amp service in out driveway and will hook up to it as soon as we get home.

Lyn, every winter I think about going to Q. Maybe this winter I will make it.

I got the car and motorhome licensed. Forgot to get the motorhome an inspection sticker. I can't remember to do two things. I had to find a manual for the car on line because I couldn't figure out how to get the fuel cover opened. I need to see if it says anything about shifting because I'm sure I'm not doing it right. Driving a standard is too much work. I don't like driving around looking at the next vehicle's tires. It seems that almost everyone drives a big pickup truck.

I can't believe it's time to mow again. A week sure passes fast. It's time for Hank's walk but I hear thunder. He won't be happy if he has to miss his walk.

Finished cleaning the house and cleaning out weeds in the yard by 2pm and then got cleaned up and headed up to San Clemente to see the psychic medium show. I wanted to head up there before the rush hour traffic started (around 3pm) and was able to get there in only a half hour. I spent several hours wandering around the downtown area in the shops there. After stopping at a park overlooking the ocean, I headed to the hotel restaurant where the show was taking place. Had dinner there which was very good (beef stroganoff). The show was good and interesting. I didn't get a reading but several people did and it got pretty emotional.

Need to finish laundry tonight and then off to bed. Early start to work tomorrow.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
