Rain on Thursday!!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rain on Thursday!!

Postby Redetotry » Thu Jun 21, 2018 9:58 am

Farmers and I are happy! It finally rained and the temps are down. Not much going on this morning except catching up on cleaning, of course it never really ends does it...Emma has 'school' today so the house is calmer than usual. I'm looking forward to coffee with friends this afternoon and I may have time for a little retail therapy. Enjoy your day!

Good Morning BJ and all.

Sunny and very cool in the Adirondacks this morning----still 60 degrees out there at 11:00 am. I'm waiting for my grandson to get back from his half day of school and then I'll bring him with me to the pond to finish work on the leanto. I need to buy me a new mattress for my antique feather bed frame as I had to throw out my old one due to a leak on it when a tree went through my roof a few years ago. Next time I go to Walmart I'll probably get an air mattress for the summer and then I can deflate it before winter sets in. I also need to look for an inexpensive bunk bed for the two boys so they can camp with me. I tossed out the old bunk bed my kids used for years down there.
Then Orion and I will pack up the cleaning items and go to the big cabin at the end of the pond to see what we can do to get that ready for staying in. His brother, Orson, is sick today and will stay here with his mother who took the day off to work from home and care for him. Later my daughter will help me to launch our paddleboat for the summer.

Thimble got ahold of my jeans this morning and was eating a hole in the seat of them before I realized why she was being so quiet! Luckily it was in the pocket, so my butt will still be covered!

HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SUMMER TO ALL!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

I'm waiting on a friend of my son's that's coming to visit his grave. He's from New York but I think he has family in Louisiana. They were roommates in college.

There is rain all along the Texas coast and up through Louisiana. On the radar it looks like it is moving this way. Hope we don't get what Texas is getting. The yard needs to be mowed again.

I don't know what's wrong with Annie, she is being a goof-ball. She gets in my lap and goes round and round knocking things off the desk with her tail. She likes to carry toys around howling. I guess she thinks they are her babies. She will bring 3 or 4 and leave them by my chair.

Slept in today since I got to sleep around 2am. Had a really cool dream that I could fly! Had some other cool dreams that I can barely remember but wish I could remember more of, altho one was of a big fight with my dad. I seem to have a lot of dreams of him being really angry with me which are very unpleasant. :( Trying to remember a dream is like trying to catch a butterfly! The harder you try the more they flit around and fly away. Sometimes you just need to stay still and not try so hard and then they might softly land on you! (So poetic this morning! :D )

I posted late last night on yesterday's MC about a crazy car I saw at Home Depot yesterday. Check out the photos there if you haven't already. Some people have way too much time on their hands!

Cool, damp and cloudy here today. The birds are chirping happily tho.

I think I will have to do one more coat on the kitchen counter and then will be done with the kitchen. I have that one lower cabinet that has had a really funky smell in it for a long time now and can't get rid of the smell with anything. I have tried about a dozen different things in there but nothing touches it. I got a home mold test kit last week and am still waiting for the results in the petri dish but so far nothing is showing up. I did one under the bathroom sink since there is a funky smell under there too, and that one is showing some colorful growth. I did discover a small leak under there last week so that makes sense. There is no obvious source of water in the kitchen on that side but wanted to check anyways. Will have to get the bathroom looked at since the floor in front of the sink is getting a little soft too. I removed everything from the kitchen cabinet for now since I can't stand to even open those doors.

Gotta pay some bills here and then off to work later. Have a good one!

I think the farmers here are happy ...we had no rain today or yesterday...not suppose to tomorrow either...hopefully what was planted didn't rot...hate for the price of potatoes to go up... it has been wet and cold perhaps a warm rain would have helped but not it's been cold... been trying to organize my books why who knows other than this way if I want a suspense won't have to wade through the Historical or romance ones to find them...then I separated the series for the only one of books have so many starts or beginnings or even ends of a series guess we will see what I want to do missing 3 books out of one series that one I do know I want to order the missing ones...
hate to suggest this Barbie but have you thought of boring out a small piece of that cabinet where it can't be seen and send it somewhere to have it analyzed now where that would be I have no idea...weird that the odor doesn't go away or diminish ...when I was first married my husband had stored a refrigerator for us to use after we were married...it retained an odor that was so bad that when I got pregnant I couldn't hardly open the door in the morning would send me to the bathroom so quickly  oh have you put a bag of charcoal brickets in it open the bag and close the door leave for a spell guess it can't hurt might help

I decided that since I had a lot of the countertop paint left, that I would use it to paint the inside of the front door. It was a deep brown and too dark for the kitchen area. I did one coat and need to do a couple more coats on it.

Sheila, I will try the charcoal and see if that does anything. May end up painting the inside with Kilz paint and see if that does anything.

It reminds me of I hope a joke but having read stuff probably wasn't a couple was going through
a nasty divorce and he was getting the house some how she convinced him that since she was loosing something she loved that he should allow her a last night fixed a nice shrimp supper and then stuffed the shrimp everywhere not seen as in curtain rods inside them well of course nature took it's course and the smell drove them out to another house with the curtain rods....
I guess we could say karma got it

I remember reading that story awhile back. Sweet revenge!
