my daughter's new foot!

Hooray, her incision is healed! PT today released her to contact the people who will do the prosthetic!!! We are hoping for an appointment quite soon!!! She needs to increase the strength in the muscle of her anterior thigh on her left leg. She hoped on the parallel bars and up a step, so her arm strength is good. She is very excited, as am I!!!

glad to hear now to the choices...so many of them :P
when my cousin was a baby she was born with half a foot so the rest was amputated and she had a prosthetic... made to look as normal as possible changed often as she grew but now they have all sorts of limbs guess it is determined by what you want to accomplish
so glad it has healed

Good for her! Sounds like she is dealing with this whole situation very well.

Yesterday, Laurie got her hew foot!!! Very exciting day for us all!!! She did have the expectation of putting it on and walking away...however, will need several appts with the therapist for practice. She was surprised how it felt. She is anxious and still has that positive attitude so I am sure it won't be long before she is walking all over the place. lyn
