Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Happy Father's Day Sunday

Nothing exciting here. Plan to get on the road shortly... Stopping in Rapid City then heading back to Keystone. Looks like rain will be with me.

Today's the day to celebrate Dad's... All of them.

Good morning
Liz, enjoy your trip!
Will call my dad today, other than that, i'll do laundry.
The storm that rolled through here for two days didn't do anything, a few spit of moisture here and there and its sun shine today.

Liz, have a great time! What an exciting time for you with the cruise and then getting married when you get back!

Sleeping in a bit this morning.

Went to the Luau/potluck/pool party after work yesterday. It was at another mobile home park up the street but we were invited. It got cold here in the afternoon so I wore pants and a sweater there and brought some hors d'oeuvres. Got there pretty early (5:00) but there were a few ladies hula dancing by the pool who looked like they started on the pina coladas around noon! I hung around for awhile and ate and had a mimosa, but left shortly after that. It was getting colder and I felt a little out of place not knowing anyone and they all knew each other.

Off to work in awhile but then have the next 3 days off. I have a lot of things to do in those 3 days around here. I want to get as much painting done as I can in the master bedroom, closet and bath so I can finally get moved in there.

Thinking of my dad today...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

It’s trying to be sunny here, but not having much luck, which is fine. I
Will keep us from getting too hot. We’ve been under cloud cover these past few days, so have stayed in the mid 70’s range. Not much wind, but enough to keep us cool. Humidity is up now though and temps in low 80’s. Fortunately, only have to put up with it for one day. Tina, we didn’t get any storms or rain. All the rain, storms, heat etc., were downstate. We are also north of the heat indices warnings etc., for today as well. The downside is, there’s a lot of pollen about right now and this air mass is aggravating it. I don’t have problems with it usually, but have been little stuffed up and little sore throat past couple days. Others I have talked to, saying same thing. Dogs are sneezing a lot too. Once the cold front comes through tomorrow, that will clear out the air.

Am ready to haul out for a couple days camping, but decided to cancel one night and leave one day later. Rain and storms are in forecast, and with heat and humidity, could trigger off a strong one, so will wait till the front passes through. Only an hour from here. Otherwise same old here.

A bit past morning here and another day under heat advisory. I've been following a Facebook post today about a family who had to move out of HUD government housing in Cairo, IL. The living conditions have been ignored for years until a newspaper started doing a series of articles and asking what happened to the money that was supposed to be used for the housing. Finally after several years of investigations, the place has been closed and people told to move out. I'm not sure how much if any help is being provide for the people to move but, they are being told that due to the extent of contamination of the buildings they are advised to leave everything behind, everything...clothing, furniture etc!! Someone who found out about a family who moved into our area and had nothing but 5 items of food in the house and no means of transportation, posted about the family on FB and asked where they could find assistance for the family. Besides getting several referrals of where the family could find help, people started offering food, clothes, kitchen items and many other items and monetary donations. It is so good to see others reach out to help but it is also horrible that the situation was allowed to become such a disaster to so many families.
A few clouds have come in teasing us with the possibility of rain, I'm crossing my fingers and hoping!
Have a wonderful cruise Liz!! What an exciting month for you!

Wish today was boring.

Sitting on shoulder of I-80 just east of Fairfield. Had blowout on inner dually and guy is here changing tire. Lots of wires hanging down but e erything seems to work. Worried about fresh water tank because it was half full and is now reading empty but I am on slant so hope it is ok. Called RV dealer in Davis but Sunday is bad day. Hope insurance covers this. More later.

Tire changed. Now battery is dead. Had problems after storage but thought it was ok. Probably blinkers drained it. Going to tow me to Lowe’s for the night. Then tow me to get new battery in morning.

Not too much going on here today just some housekeeping chores. Going to go grocery shopping tomorrow and then finish getting Motorhome loaded and ready to roll out Thursday. Heading to Bullards Beach State Park on the coast to meet up with a few of the forum ladies. We have some heat coming our way this week so I want to be pretty much loaded with the stuff I dont need in the house. Already put a few things in there that I laundered so not really too much to go other than the dog stuff, food, electronics. Laura and I are meeting up in Winston and will go grocery shopping in Roseburg before heading to Bullards on Monday.

Judy sorry you are having a bad day. Doesnt sound like fun at all. Hope it is a quick and easy fix. These things always happen on the weekend it seems.

Liz, have a great cruise. Sounds like fun.

JudyB, no fun... hope its covered by insurance & things smooth out tomorrow.
Bj, your story shows how warm & caring people can be in spite of how terrible others might be. Thanks for sharing it - we could all use some heart-warming stories about now.
Liz, have fun!
Sue, enjoy camping - hope the rain/storm passes quickly.
Barb, good luck with all that painting.
Beth, safe travels back to Keystone.

Carolb, I bought a condo across the creek from my apartment. It's on the first floor so I now have a patio area. Could use some adivce on plants from an expert (hint, hint) ;) Currently I'm just picking up plants that appeal to me in the store or garden centers. Most of them are sun-loving & the tree kept the area shaded so now they have plenty of sun. :D Guess God felt a little sorry for me (or for the plants) & is trying to help me out a bit.

Spent the morning washing the windows - I really know how to have fun! Ran to Kohls to find a few things for the trip & now going to cook some Lenguas de gatos for Gaby & Irwin to share with his family. And maybe make a batch for our trip too. ;)

Later...

So, after they tow me to a place to get a new battery tomorrow, I will drive to get new spare tire.

I am certain I have a crack in fresh water tank as it was half full this morning and is now empty, so will need to go to camping world. Out that. Repair or new tank????? And we’d to check underneath for other damage. CoachNet paid for tire change and tow but ifa lot of damage will check with insurance. I have $500 deductible—ugh.

Went into Lowe’s and filled two gallon jugs for flushing. Then bought case of bottled water for drinking. Have lots of food and coach electric is working So ok for night.

I need to get to Yellowstone by Sunday to meet Ohio son and family. Will drive all night if I have to but hopefully won’t have to.
