Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Gmorning all...

Well, not so "good," as I always feel the world is a little sadder when one of our much loved pet children leave us...my thoughts are with you, Beth....

The gtg with our "trek-mates," as Peggy calls us, was a success. Besides Peggy & I, we had 3 other Treks there & a total of 7 humans, 5 dogs & one cat:) Mills Norrie SP (NY) is very primitive--no rvs over 20 ft, no hookups, a lot of tenters--I like that, more like good old fashion "roughing it" camping. Well, as I always say, a Trek is just a step above a tent ;)

I saw the news of the dangerous weather going through the midwest. Barbie, hope it doesn't ruin your visit. Anyone else in it's path, hope you are safe...& I do have to comment on finding a bra that REALLY fits! That would be nirvana to me

Wishing y'all a good day & be safe wherever you are...

Morning Carolb and all who follow. Carol, glad you had a great time with Peggy and the others. I agree about the close to roughing it camping. I'm getting to a pint where a van is beginning to appeal to me more and more, rather than dragging a trailer around. One of these days..... But for now, will just keep doing as I am. my remodeling project is just about done, few little things to finish up, the will give the thing a spring cleaning and load it up for summer, which will be over if I don't get gong pretty soon. First trip is a week away roughly.

Tina, hear ya on the walking issues. I was having trouble with my knees late last summer and into the fall. Was thinking same thing, don't want to see my walking days shortened by achy knees. Was fine all winter but soon as warmer weather returned, back to the achy again. Was thinking arthritis. Long story short, chiropractors office suggested I take Glucosamine and since then I have felt great. Whew.

Barbie, you sound like you are enjoying your time in MN, seeing old friends, and especially your daughter. To answer the question about "live edge" wood. It's slabs of wood that are cut from trees without removing the outer bark. It stays on and becomes part of the wood piece. In other words, it doesn't have that smooth finished edge that milled lumber has. Makes for some beautiful crafted pieces of wood.

Time to get a move on here. Errands to run and then home to stain that molding and do some other things. Weather has been perfect here, am hoping it stays that way for my camping trip. Have a nice day everyone.

Good Late Morning to all.

I am back in my yard in the Adirondacks and so happy to have it cool enough to be able to wear long pants and long sleeves again! This room was usually the only one I ever used to post in, and will probably be the major one for me again as I try to rejoin this forum. I am going to try to post a picture if I can remember even how to go about it. I remember that was the most difficult thing for me to do and I would get too impatient to even try it after a while. So here goes a try!

YAHOO! It worked, thanks to Sarah's help form Facebook! It's still a pain in the neck unless I can bookmark that site I need to go to to download the pictures. I will try to put a link to the site on my desk.

Soos, how nice to read your post. You have been missed on the forum. Did you post your photo from a computer or a mobile phone? I use my phone for everything now, even though I just bought a new laptop. Peggy

Not much past noon.....thank you Sue for that explanation about the wood!! I have never done any wood working, however love the sight of beautiful wood!!!
I ordered another pair of sandals from Zappos today. Yesterday when I went to the stick and brick store, I had a terrible time with the traffic! Very discouraging.
Everyone (all the politicians anyway) are complaining about the lack of housing in SD. I do not want more people moving here!!! There are hundreds of apts going in and the traffic is horrible! Not everyone can live in San Diego, there just isn't room. Close the gates!!!

Glad you made it back Soos. Long pants and long sleeves sounds pretty good to me right now. It was up to 96 today.

I have been to town 3 times today. Brought some papers to the lawyer in Lafayette and came home. The dog had an appointment at the vet's so back to town with him. The papers I have been looking for all week came in the mail so back to the postoffice to send them off.

The dog's automatic waterer rusted through so picked up a new one. Now I get to see how good a plumber I am. Want to bet there will be a part I need and don't have.

It's good to see you back, Soos.

So, this afternoon a storm was possible coming through. My first thought was I should hurry home to walk Peaches. Immediately after my thought was she wouldn't be here. I think I'll become a workaholic for a time. Peaches has always been here when I come home. And tired or not, out we'd go for a walk. I see myself gaining more weight

Good evening gals!

I didn't sleep very well last night because I am always nervous/excited about seeing my daughter. Got up early and drove out to meet them at a Perkins restaurant near the Mall of America.

Had a really nice visit! Naomi is getting so grown up now! She is beautiful and so sweet! She even has a boyfriend now. :o
I brought photos of my house, etc to show them. She told me about everything she is doing now and about her birthday trip to Aruba. I gave her several small birthday gifts and a couple books and she loved it all! We seem to be on the same wavelength with a lot of things we both like including favorite colors, etc. I got a photo of us together but I forgot my cord to load them onto my laptop so will have to wait to post it until Monday when I get home.

Then I drove out to visit another old coworker who wasn't working yesterday. From there, I stopped back at my older brother's house and he and his wife were home so we visited for a couple hours. It was nice to see David again. He looks much better than he did a year ago. He had lost a lot of weight after his accident last year and looked very thin and gaunt. Still rather thin now but his face has filled out some so he looks healthier. Found out that they have decided to sell their house and are moving to Phoenix in the fall. So they will be a lot closer for visiting. Her son lives in Phoenix and his son lives in Burbank so they will be closer to more family there. They also plan to get a small RV so they can travel north during the hot summers.

No thunderstorms here yet. They seem to be skirting around us but maybe that is a good thing if they are severe. Gotta be careful what I wish for! I just want a good old fashioned garden-variety thunder storm. No hail or tornadoes!

Have a good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
