It's late morning here, but I slept in because i have had student presentations at midnight for the last three nights because of the difference in time and am worn out. Last one is tonight, YEA!!
Wish the U.S. had take-out food from convenience stores like this country does. Even grocery stores and places like Starbucks have large varieties of things like sandwiches and salads that are really very good. AND, it is all freshly made each day and dated. For example, last week, I picked up a "protein box" of two hard-boiled eggs, real chicken breast sliced up, greens, and two asparagus spears, sprinkled with two kinds of seeds, all for about $3.50. Last night, I bought a package of two hard-boiled eggs on salad greens, a package of fresh fruit (pineapple, grapes, apple slices), and a Coke all for less than $5. They must have had 12 different kinds of sandwiches and a lot of dessert choices, like yoghurt with fresh fruit, pudding, and cheesecakes. And the stuff is all really good. Working people can pick up a quick lunch or simple dinner for one or two easily on their way home. One day that I had been snacking all day, I grabbed a package of chunks of real sliced baked ham and snacked on that instead of more carbs and junk--and that was at a freeway rest area with restaurants. Every time I go to a restaurant for dinner, I end up with way too much food and spend around $20-$25. This gives me the smaller meals I like and saves me money. I like that they seldom use sliced and pressed meats.
So, I am off today to the Richard III visitor center. If you saw the TV program, you know his body had been missing for centuries, but he was thought to maybe have been buried in a specific church which had been torn down and made into a parking lot. So they dug up the lot and found him!! Confirmed by DNA.
