Memorial Day 2018

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Memorial Day 2018

Postby Colliemom » Mon May 28, 2018 6:30 am

Good Morning.started a post yesterday, but got interrupted when my friend came over and never got it finished. We went to Mackinaw City for a ride, walked along the waterfront, had lunch and then moseyed home. Once we got back here, we finished up the trim work on the cupboard in the trailer so that’s done. Today I plan to finish up the frame to support one corner of the mattress and my storage box, then other than staining the new trim etc., will be done. Am going to hold off staining the stuff till later as it’s too hot and I want to take the trailer in for servicing probably tomorrow.

Alice, I’m so glad that dog found you. I hate to see senior dogs get lost or maybe intentionally left to just fend for themselves. But hopefully the owners will come for him. If not, know you will be a great “mama”. Beth, glad you and Cheryl had a nice time touring the waterfalls and towns.

Was watching the flash flood pictures from MD last night. The power of that water is frightening. We had quite the storm here too on Saturday. Very heavy deluge of rain for awhile, then turned to pea to quarter size hail accompanied by gusty wind, that shredded the tree leaves and flowers. Cars, houses, roads etc., arond here were plastered with pieces of shredded leaves, fortunately no damage. The whole thing lasted about an hour. I need to take my leaf blower and do some clean up on my deck, porch and backyard. The leaf pieces are fallling off the house, garage and my trailer by themselves. Some people were out hosing down their vehicles afterwards.

Guess it’s time to get a move on. Let us remember all those who have served our country and gave thecuntimate sacrifice this day. Thank you for your service. I will be taking flowerscto the cemetery here to decorate the graves of my loved ones there, today too. Have a nice day everyone and stay safe in the path of Alberto, those of you who will be affected.

Thank you to all who have served and to those still serving. It's a beautiful, very warm day so far in N. Central CA.

It's another bank holiday in the UK, which means kids are out of school and parents are of work--bad time to be in a beach area, even if it is really cold and foggy today. Almost impossible to park and swarms of people everywhere. Lots of their small motorhomes and "caravans" or trailers also. Most of their motorhomes area 18-24 feet long. Prices seem to be about the same or a bit more expensive than US versions for that size. Almost none have slides.

Going to rain tomorrow, which is really lousy. Went to a ruined cathedral on a cliff over the beach this afternoon and could not even see the water--yuck. Behind on my blog because of grading stuff, but will catch up when I can.

Good morning
Buddy went home last evening. The lady lives on the other side of the park and is pretty much homebound. The neighbors that sort of kept an eye out for her had moved away and somehow the back gate was open. She had called someone she knew to make lost dog posters and when he was posting them he saw my found dog poster. Maggie actually pouted and missed him, i didnt think she
liked him THAT well. Anyway, i went to petsmart and had a tag made for him, no big deal $9, and
went over to check on her and Buddy, put his tag on him in case he ever got out again. Shes not elderly, its more of a medical issue. She told me Buddy wasnt very happy to see her that i spoiled him. I told her yes, he got spoiled and enjoyed his new friend Maggie. She was grateful i found him.I told her if anything happened and she ended up in the hospital to call me, I would dogsit Buddy no charge. Theres more i could say about the situation but I did the right thing and enough said. I was prepared to keep him, even had arrangements made for a free dental if i still had him in two weeks time.
I will enjoy my day off today and just hang out in front of the tv.
Ya'll enjoh your day, be safe!

You did good Alice. Buddy and his owner were lucky you found him. I’m worried about him. Hopefully the lady will take good care of him. I think it would be good to stay in touch with her to keep an eye on the situation. You’re a very good person. :)
