Rainy Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Thursday

Postby BarbaraRose » Thu Apr 19, 2018 11:59 am

Yes it is raining in southern California! Yay! Things were drying out here again so this is good.

My shoulder and neck are finally starting to feel better now. Just a dull soreness. My ribs are still very painful tho. Last night at work, I was caught off guard by a random sneeze and I ended up banging my head against the divider between the stations. The pain in my rib cage totally outdid any pain in my head tho! OUCH!

The coughing isn't as bad now either but still a little tickle that causes me to cough, so still sucking on lots of cough drops. I am sleeping much better now. Only wake up once each night for a short time before falling back to sleep.

The finger I smashed last week in the exercise machine feels a little worse now tho. Had a hard time cutting hair last night with it. Still swollen and stiff. Maybe due to overuse, It is my left index finger so is hard to avoid using it.

OK, enough complaints. Maybe I will head back to bed for awhile and listen to the rain outside. Hope you all are doing well and those traveling north, stay safe! Hopefully, spring is finally on it's way up there!!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Sunny here in northern California and warm is on the way though another day or two of 70's. We have hospice nurse and social worker visits today so I have to get going on my chores. Mel is ok, though pain is difficult with Opiods, NSAID , and Tylenol sensitivity! One day at a time. Having his throat stretched again last week helped swallowing though he had an unexpected anesthesia reaction on drugs he has had several times before. Ended up in recovery for 8 hours instead of one! Made for a long day! Trying to get decluttering done though its hard because he gives off the attitude of I'm giving up on him almost anything I try to get rid of. Our younger son will be here in late May, we will be so glad to see him. He hasn't been here since 2013. This is his break between Law Enforcement Academy and his summer internship, while still trying to keep up with his fulltime real estate business.
Have a good day everyone.

Velda, my heart breaks for you and I can't even begin to imagine what you and Mel are going through.

Barbie, I hope you start feeling better soon. You say growing old is not for sissies, but you are way too young to say that. Please feel well soon. How is your brother that was in the accident?

Beth, I'm so glad you are safely in Keystone.

Sue, I hope your weather lets up.

We're still in Ocala and the past few days have been in the 80's. I'm active in church and am also on a committee to arrange the purchase and delivery of a used organ to replace our existing organ. The other committee person has done absolutely nothing so now I'm running the show. I will discuss what I have done at this Sunday's Vestry meeting after church. I think the other organ will be delivered either this coming week or the next.

We will be in FL for about another month. Between it being cold in MD and doctors appointments, we're in no rush to get home. We'll probably only be home a week later than usual.

I'm exhausted. And after a trip to the computer doctor the necessary program on the work computer is still not working. It looks like it'll be next week before it's all working. :o

Peaches and I are heading to bed early and tomorrow is a new day!

Irmi, last time I talked to my brother, he was doing and feeling really good physically and mentally. They are now dealing with the legal issues with the accident. I think he will be put on probation without any jail time due to his TBI, but there may be a law suit from the family of the woman who was killed.

He and his wife may be taking a road trip out here some time this summer to visit his son in Burbank, stop to visit me, and then visit her son in Phoenix. It will be nice to see him again.
