Sunday Coffee!! Cool Trip Calculator

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday Coffee!! Cool Trip Calculator

Postby Cudedog » Sun Apr 15, 2018 9:04 am

Morning, ladies.

Sipping on my morning coffee here, surfing the web with my laptop on my lap.

Ran across this way cool trip calculator website. You type in the city where you are starting your trip, then type in your destination, and it will give you the route, the miles, and the drive time - and there is a separate calculator on the page where you put in the average gas mileage your vehicle consumes and put in the current cost of a gallon of gas, and it will calculate your fuel cost for the trip!

Give it a look:

Mid month Sunday

Postby Othersharon » Sun Apr 15, 2018 9:12 am

Good morning! After a beautiful couple of days we’re back to winter! At least temp wise! Luckily we aren’t supposed to get the snow. Thanks, Sue for not sending it my way! I was able to get outside and start working on spring cleanup! Still much to do but feel good that I at least got a start on it! As much as I want to dewinterize the RV I have to wait a while yet. Not going to trust the temps yet! Beth, hope the weather gets better as you head north! Mickie, was happy to see you posting again! Glad your condo sold and you were able to get back into the area you need to be!

So not much going on here but wanted to touch base. Coffee is done and it’s time to get my day started! Think today is going to be a goof off day! Hope you all have a good day and travel safe!

Good morning! Sorry I missed your birthday and hope it was wonderful.

Slept in this morning and am waiting patiently for the coffee to finish perking... so I can sit here and relax, read, and sip for another couple of hours. :D

I really like the way you organize your day! Mine morning is a match, except for the coffee part. Reading, relaxing, watching the dogs wrestle works for me. Later in the day, since I have started my seasonal "Lets make some money for traveling and the dogs." gig, I will need to give some time to grooming some dogs and invite all of them for a nail trimming party. But don't tell them yet. Why wreck their perfectly fine but slightly rainy morning. Rain over freezing temperatures and snow works for me this time of year. Now off to listen to NPR and read some more. This relaxing takes some attention.

That is useful. I have to admit that the only time I tried to figure/guess my mileage and gas cost was when we were heading to Alaska. I wanted to be sure that I had enough money to get there and back. Since then most of my trips are by the seat of my pants $$ wise. I know if I spend too much it just means that I will need to sit still more when I get back. It is a blessing that I appreciate since I didn't always have that little slush in my funds. Another thought I have is the same one when someone asks how much someone spends on their dogs and dog shows. I don't claim my dogs as dependents  or as a business. I did keep a tight budge for about two years right before I headed off to Alaska. I spend a lot of money on the dogs....between shows, vet bills, flea and tick meds, dog shows, toys, grooming equipment (Dog Show vendors should come with warnings.) I am not sure I really want to know how much they cost any more, as long as I can afford my insurance, food and the electric stays on. Sort of the same on the cost of driving the RV to my destinations of choice. When the cost of gas goes up, I just sigh and continue filling the tank and know that it means one less something else, but I am not going to not go down the road.

At some point my funds might not allow me to travel, but since I don't know when that will be I figure that I should keep going while my body is still cooperating.

PS....Lyn, you are still my role model.

I probably don't want to know how much the cats cost. I really need to trap the male cat that comes over here and fights with my cats. He needs a trip to the spay and neuter clinic. He was pretty friendly but isn't hanging as close now.

As far as the cost of gas, I get a kick out of the people on Facebook that are worried about what the gas milage their motorhome or pulling a trailer is. If you want good gas milage I think you will have to stay home.

It got down to 48 last night but not as cold as predicted. They are saying 38 tonight but I doubt it will get that cold. It looks like the storms that came through here are now in Florida.

Thank You Tina! Yes, I too intend to keep on going as long as I am able to do so. And, if one can’t afford the gasoline, go shorter distances.
I do get tired driving long distances, so just plan on more frequent stopping o’noc. Example, I will take two days to drive to Las Vegas next weekend.
Mickey, so darn nice seeing you posting. Hope you two get out this way in the not to distant future.
We had a very nice impromptu party here yesterday. The weather was beautiful and we spent time in the pool, then continued on into the evening in our condo. Benji is exhausted today from playing with little kids yesterday.

Had some excitement last night. Got into shower and got my hair all soaped up. Went to rinse and wash rest of me and water stopped. Pump was not working so had to put towel on my head and put on some old clothes. Then go outside and hook up water hose in heavy rain. Got back into shower and finished. Had half tank of water but pump it s still not working this morning. Will work on it when I get to Eugene. Luckily have water hookup there. Filled a jug to flush while driving.

Wow, Judy, you sure are a trooper. I'd have been cussing a blue streak and probably just finished rinsing in the buff outside. :D

Admit it, Mickie, you would have yelled at Mary to go outside and hook up the water!

Made me remember to always carry an emergency gallon of water in a jug. Filled it up this morning. Started doing that when I had pump problems and might need to flush while I was on the road. Disadvantage of motorhome is having to drive with unflushed toilet. In trailer, you can just abandon it and ride in tow vehicle.

Worked today. Was pretty busy. Had a customer get out of my chair and leave right in the middle of his haircut. Never had that happen before. He wanted me to cut it in a way that absolutely would not work. I tried to explain that to him but he got mad and left. He ended up coming back and having another stylist cut it but he ended up with exactly what I was telling him it would look like. Kind of shook my confidence for awhile but I got over it after more of my customers loved what I did for them or their kids hair. I can't expect to make every single customer happy, especially when they are being unreasonable.

Took a nap when I got home and am now in a lot of pain again. I will have to learn how to sleep walk!

Lyn, I took two days to get down here from Las Vegas. That is a long tedious drive to do in one day, especially pulling a trailer. .

Have the next two days off. Lots of little things to do. Hoping to finally finish the kitchen this week. And maybe work on a couple garden projects. Nothing too physically taxing tho.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, maybe you need to get a recliner so you can sleep sitting up.
