Heartshots

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Heartshots

Whenever I see something I would like to capture with my camera and don't have that with me or I'm driving and can't do it, I call it a heart shot because I'll try and remember that in my heart, well my heart is ful,l I saw so many beautiful scenes yesterday that I would have liked to have captured but I have not yet trained my dog Bradley to operate the camera and boy, trying to get a welcome to - name your State - sign is crazy while you're barreling down the highway dodging potholes. Speaking of potholes...Good morning good morning ladies. I got to Little Rock in spite of all the potholes and road construction. It seemed all the roads were under construction and those that weren't, needed to be. They were so rough, (how rough were they?), that the couch mattress cushion actually fell off its perch and landed on the dinette, film at 11  . I went to President Clinton's Library and enjoyed it but I only had an hour before closing so I did a power walk through. Today we're going to Maumelle COE, it's only about 7 miles from here but it's time Bradley and I felt some grass beneath our feet and some trees and maybe even the stars at night. since I didn't get the opportunity to hook up with Linda Clayton my timeline allows for this luxury. Enjoy your day, it's going to be a great one

Ah, those dreaded potholes! I, too, take many heart shots. And as I forget my camera too often hiking/walking, I need to take them then also. Enjoy a break at the COE park!

Peaches and I will enjoy the day at the city park here in Fort Morgan and possibly spend a second night here. We shall see.

I am actually thinking of getting a Dash Cam just so I can get some pics of some things along the way where there are no pullouts, etc. I can then edit them and save some pictures if I get any good ones. The Dash cams are pretty reasonable so might just check some out.

Good Morning, Going to the old, old, old WSI'S luncheon today. Gads, only 6 of us left alive.
It is a beautiful day with the sun out and warm, but not too hot.

There is a man in my neighborhood who has two Pomeranian dogs. He has them both trimed to look like little lions!!! Too cute.

My daughter said we should keep all the illegals who are working and paying taxes and send the homeless to Mexico!!! I second that!

Have a good day, Lyn

Lyn, many of the homeless are veterans and families and mentally ill, so I do not agree with sending them to Mexico!

Another rough night. I sure hope this chiropractor can figure out what is going on tomorrow. I am exhausted!

At one point around 1 am, I woke up and discovered Lola sleeping next to me and no kitten. That is the first time Lola has slept on the bed since way before I got Emily. I got up and looked around for Emily who is usually my little shadow where ever I go but couldn't find her anywhere. Finally, I checked out on the sunroom and she came running up crying! I had accidently shut her out there before I went to bed. I am surprised she didn't cry by the door afterward. She came to bed with me and Lola went out to her spot on the couch in the living room. Was nice to have Lola with me for awhile tho. She gets so annoyed by Emily who is always trying to "mock attack" her. Hopefully, Emily will outgrow that and they can get along better.

Sunny and breezy today. May take a walk shortly and see if my pain gets better. I paced around the house for about an hour very early this morning until the pain got better and was able to fall asleep for awhile after that.

Have a good day! :D

We should be helping our homeless. That said, my first trip down Baja a previously homeless man from California was living on one of the beaches and being well taken care of. He said Mexico was helping him. Yes, he is one of our decorated veterans. He has ptsd and couldn't handle crowds. He didn't know if he'd return. Not that I recommend sending our homeless to Mexico, but we have to get a better handle on helping them.

Lyn, trimming the dogs might look cute, but isn't smart. Pomeranians have that fur to protect them from both cold and heat. People do that for themselves... Not for their pups.

I, personally, know of many people, both family and friends, who are just a paycheck away from homelessness. Accident, illness, disease, divorce, violence, job loss - or just plain bad luck - can lead anyone to the pain and despair of homelessness. Anyone.

It happens every day.

I often wonder why so much of taxpayer dollars is spent to help foreign countries, and so comparatively little is spent to help our own people right here at home. But this is not the time, and this forum is not the place, for such a discussion.

PM me if anyone is interested in continuing with this topic.

Thank you.

I remember stopping at many roadside historical signs when I was a kid and when I would travel with my kids. We have quite a few pictures taken at the state line signs. Now, a lot of the historical signs don't even have a place to pull over and I guess we are going too fast now days to stop. I am very aggravated because Louisiana has closed almost all the rest areas. There are very few places to stop unless you get off the interstate. I guess that's their plan. At least in Texas there are places to stop even if there aren't any facilities.

I have been relatively pain-free today and tonight, as far as my neck and shoulder goes. However my bruised rib was pretty sore all day. Then tonight I started choking on a Dorito and had a coughing fit that lasted quite awhile. That just did more damage to my rib and now am in a ton of pain, especially when I cough. Geez!! I have a humidifier in my bedroom which helps to keep me from coughing at night, so that will help.

I decided, after trying to grow my hair out, that I just can't deal with hair on my neck anymore, so I cut it shorter this morning. My coworker cut the back into a wedge for me and it is really cute and much more comfortable now. Just need to frost it now but will have to wait until I can move my arm/shoulder without causing pain.

I have my chiropractor appointment tomorrow morning, so will have to get up early for the commute down to San Diego.
