Good Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good Friday

Postby Colliemom » Fri Mar 30, 2018 10:38 am

Thought I had better slip in here and get Coffee started before morning is over here in the eastern zone. Been busy like the rest of you probably are. Heading to Good Friday service in a bit, then run an errand and back to the church to meet friends at the last Fish Fry. Plan to go help decorate the church for Easter Masses afterwards. Took a run to store this morning to pick up few things I need to fix my Easter dinner and came home. Was going to go after the service, but figured everybody else will have same idea and tomorrow ‘s Weather not looking good with snow and wind in forecast. So everybody will be shopping today.

Hope you all have a nice day.

Postby avalen » Fri Mar 30, 2018 10:45 am

Its also my daughters birthday, took card of that last night as i guess they all have plans of which i was not included.
Had a hotdog luncheon at the old work place yesterdsy, it was alot of fun and great to see old friends.
They sure want me to come back and boss made it tempting seeing how i have to come up with funds for uncle sam but reality is ,,,, umm, no. It will all work out and i may get tired of pbj but it is what it is.
Weather is gettinv really nice, didnt even have to flip on thd furnace this morning. A flannel shirt was enough to take the chill off my arms.
Sorted through my drawer of tshirts, made a pile of old ones to go to salvation army. Will sort through
my tackle boxes and fishing poles today and reduce there as well.i do enjoy fishing so i want to keep a minimum of that. Otherwise today ill jusg kick back and relax.
Ya'll enjoy your weekend and be safe.

Good morning Ava and Sue.
Yesterday was my daughters 17th birthday! Wow, how time flies! Can't wait to see her this June!

Went to the other massage therapist yesterday and she was much better. Really got in to the knots all over. However, the one area on my right shoulder that was shooting pain up into my head, is much worse today. i was up most of the night since I can't get comfortable in any position without excruciating pain.
I made an appointment to see a doctor this morning and see what he says.

I am pretty much over all my flu stuff including the cough and have my energy back but now this has got me shot down. I just want to get back to feeling good so I can work on my projects and get back to my weekly ocean fix.

Hope you all have a good day and stay safe on the roads if you are traveling (Beth)...

Hi Everyone, it's beyond morning but it's been awhile so thought I'd pop in regardless of time. I see both Sue and Ava have post, both sound like they have busy days. Mine should be busier then it is but I manage to accomplish quite a bit in my way  It's all going to wait for me, that's for sure. I thought I'd finish mowing back section here yesterday and mower wouldn't start, just had to figure I wasn't meant to. It's been doing good and new battery so hmmm??

This little buddy I have is in my lap each break I take, breaks end up longer then normal. Took him to the vet for his itching. Saw no fleas but poor little fella was going crazy, he has no hair on his belly so you'd think it would be easy to see any. Vet said all It takes is one and if he's allergic, which is what we expect , he'd be itchy all over. So he's on benadryl and after one day, two doses he's already doing better. This is to be expected in Florida and I expect there was dogs and cats here before. Fleas are in the ground whether you have animals or not .

Just had a bird fly in and trying to get out dining room window. Went and opened back door, didn't see him/her leave but seems to be gone. Have sliding door open, no screen so in it flew. Mr P woke up and really did when I put him by himself on the chair  I don't care for front entrance, am thinking what I'd like. Thinking French doors or window with nice door. Decisions, decisions!! (my weakness). I've decided will wait until I come back in the fall, so I'm out of that decision for now :D

Went to the library, and found a couple of new books, I love libraries but I was in hopes they'd have DVDs . They did and quite a lot of them. You may have 10 for 10 days and as its not to far that's a terrific deal for me right now. Not getting TV service until fall either. So the movies and books will keep me well satisfied in the evenings. I'm keeping books I have for trip reading.

Time to get moving, couple more chores on today's list. Oh , in case anyone is wondering still have no idea of who left flowers at my gate. They are still gorgeous I've enjoyed them so much!!
Take care and stay safe please!!

Good Morning, Another beautiful day here. I too love my library, Carol. I order books on line, and yesterday I picked up seven!!! Yes, seven. I also have a bag of books in my truck that I'm saving for reading material while on a trip. I have a fear of running out of reading material!!! Our library has now decided to not fine people for not returning books! I don't know how that will work in the long run.

Beth, I received a book mark from your Benson SKP park when I stayed there last year. It is one of the best book marks I have ever had! Tell them Thank You from me. And, you have a good trip back up north when ever you leave.

This afternoon I'm going to watch them change the dressing on the daughters leg. I want to see the incision for myself. Why? Just curious.

Good afternoon. I tackled defrosting the freezer this morning. The best part is seeing everything I have and reorganizing... And somehow I have more room. I think I have to empty and reorganize it more often, even when not needing to defrost.

Tomorrow I get to see my friend Ginger. I'm not sure what we'll do, but she wasn't available when I stopped here before and although this was an unplanned two, she is and I've already visited with Jil and Tom and I'm going to stay an extra night for an event that they'll be attending here in the park also.... Unless weather tells me that's not a good idea.

Peaches loves her off leash time in the desert but as the days are heating up, we have to get out early enough for her to enjoy it.

And, oh my gosh, that adorable baby picture posted while I was typing. Love!

Got back from the doctors office. He said I just have a severe muscle spasm. Showed me some stretching exercises to do and gave me a stronger pain reliever to take at night. He also said not to sleep on my side or stomach. Easier said than done! I don't like to sleep on my back.

Luckily, I feel better when I am standing and walking, so will be able to work OK with some occasional Advil.

I also love libraries! I try not to buy books too much anymore unless they are ones I would reread and/or want to keep as a reference.

It is an absolutely gorgeous day today! Sunny, breezy and 75 degrees! Hoping it is like that on Sunday and I feel good enough to go to the beach for a picnic!

I am back from my horrible week in Georgia with aunt and uncle. Posted a summary of it in general, but long and you may want to skip. It was exhausting dealing with them and packing and unpacking several times, with them finally decided not to go to Florida and to ask neighbors to help instead. Doubt that will work, but the week was full of crying and wailing and complaining from her, so other niece and I decided most of it was a show, and ended up leaving yesterday. Other niece fell and hit her head on hardwood floor from low blood pressure and stress on Monday, was seen by EMS people, and got a concussion confirmed today. I ended up losing 4 pounds from stress affecting my IBS. Worst 8 days in a very long time and will likely not be going back to Georgia for a long time. Do not need to be treated as I was, and other niece agrees, no matter how many times we were told how grateful they were we were there and how many apologies we received.

Anyway resting on side of road on 58 headed to Tehachapi to spend two quiet days and get laundry done. Will miss Easter with Napa kids, but cannot handle long drive right now, so will end up with them Tues, Wed, Thursday next week.

Only good news was that after being in airport parking lot in Las Vegas for 8 days, my refrigerator was still running and RV was OK. Needs a good cleaning which I will do tomorrow. That will make me feel better.

Judy, so sorry to hear of your stressful week! Yes, apologies don't make up for abuse.

I made it thru work and am in pain again tonight. But will be taking my new meds shortly before heading to bed. Hopefully, they will put me out for the whole night.

Tomorrow I am going to a Ferret Roundup in San Diego. The guy who runs the CA ferret legalization group is having a day of speakers, fun, education, and food all about ferrets and getting them legal in California. He will have his two ferrets there but discouraged others from bringing their ferrets just in case some unscrupulous person (CA Fish and Game) decides to confiscate them.
