Snow here in SW Ohio. It didn't want to wait until I headed to Charlotte, NC, tomorrow. Lark is going down to meet my daughter Kate for the first time. Kate has reminded my that I am about 10 months late in bringing her. Oh, well.
As I wiped out the mouse droppings and chewed nuts from a couple of drawers in the RV, I felt lucky that I only found about three spots were one had rested up and eaten a snack. I also wanted to share my underwhelming efforts to prepare for a trip with those newbys that might think that a lot of thought, effort, scrubbing and planning have to go into trip preparation. I will check the tire pressures before I head out, but the engine turns over, generator works and the refrigerator turned back on. I will pick up enough food for a few days and be sure the dogs have theirs. I would worry about cleaning every corner but...oh, wait, I travel with multiple dogs and one rainy day and who cares. The bedding is clean, the dogs and mine. I come from a long line of wilderness tent campers and though my expectations for comfort have risen my acceptance of residual sand on the floors has remained constant. I am not ready to trust the weather to de-winterize quite yet, so I will not fill the water tank or switch back the by-pass on the water heater. I will carry some jugs of water, some pick stuff for the gray and black tanks and if I want to heat up some water, I have a microwave for that. Now to do a load of laundry and I'll be ready. Lark had her "I'm going to be so pretty" bath yesterday. I am over this wintering back in Ohio thing. I am going to play for a week or so until I have to report back into my seasonal spring work assignment on April 6th.
