Thanks for the pics and the tour dialogue....what are the weather seasons like in Taos. Is it one of those places you avoid in the summer because of heat?

I thought Taos was in the mountains so I always assumed the weather was great for
summer but cold for winter. Gonna have to go check that out cause I think I'd like to
go see Taos, as many times as I've driven past that turnoff I've never gone there.
Thanks for the pictures Sparkle, it really looks like an interesting place.

You're right, Ava - the cg's were just opening when we were in the mountains. Was 4/30 and the one we had planned to stop at - wasn't open. We stopped and talked to the camphost later, it was opening the next day! Oh well. Still was some snow in the upper elevations.

Taos is loved in the winter by skiers, in the summer because it's cooler. And it's just darn pretty there.

Had to go down memory lane...eldest daughter was able to go to Taos when in High School with a school group. While there she met some kids from a near by town and they asked if she wanted to go with them for a quick trip so she said sure when she saw the town's name Las Vegas she said I need to call my aunt while we are here....took looking in phone books in vain and asking why they weren't in the phone book to realize that she wasn't in the right Los Vegas!!! it took awhile before we let it go

Thank you ladies for the wonderful trek thru NM. Perhaps I'll reconsider selling my acre in Deming that I bought sight unseen in the 70s! ;) Anyone want an acre out in the middle of nowhere?? I have visited it and it is in a subdivision, but all grown over and too far from town to run water or electric.

I just love going on these adventures with you and seeing photo's. I too love old churches.
