Last Monday of February

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Monday of February

Morni g from Northern Michigan. Cloudy but sun coming later along with temps warming to near 50 by tomorrow. I’l take it!

Donna, glad to see you post yesterday. Been thinking about you and wondering how things were going. Barbie, reading what you said about taking your mom up the North Shore of MN last time reminds me of the things I did with my dad after mom passed away. The last few years before he died, I made it a point to spend my days off work, doing things with him. Since we lived together, it was easy. He loved to drive and take day trips places, which I did too. So we were always off and gone someplace. I look back now and am so glad we did that. Makes me miss him that much more and my mom too. I lived with my parents and from the time I was small we were always out on Sunday drives and traveling vacations. It’s how I saw so much of the country before I started RVing.

Nothing special going on here. Spring cleaning done and will hit the basement one Day to go through and purge some stuff down there. Want to get some organization done in my workshop area now that upstairs projects are finished, haven’t really done anything in there since I moved here. Looking at websites for a quilt for my bed too. New curtains are here, just need to throw them in the washer and put up the new rods. Thinking of trailer mods and am antsy to get in there.

Have a nice day all. Stay safe on the roads, in the storms, flooding etc., Prayers to those in need.

Good morning
Oldest grandson had 24th birthday the other day and yesterday was the luncheon celebration.
He had recently (just be for Christmas) bought himself a motorcycle and surprised everybody yesterday with the news that he traded it in for a car! Everyone was so glad!!
They do grow up, and grandson #2 is also growing up nicely. I have to admit I had my doubts about that one for the longest time.
Nothing else going on in my life right now so ill just say y'all have a nice day and be safe.

Mornin' ladies ~~~ still A.M. here at Lake Pleasant AZ. Checked in here for 10 days after splitting from Eileen & Dave. Eileen, Alice & I took a ride and found some of the Salt River wild horses, which made my day. That was my specific reason for heading up there. Also had a hike and lunch with my best friend's sister and her husband up at Lost Dutchman SP in Apache Junction after Eileen left. We guessed it was probably 30+ years since we saw each other, but my friend Patti has kept both of us informed of how our lives have played out.

Nothing special planned except a couple of little sight seeing things or hikes. Close to my cousin, so will probably see here again at least once. Had Dad send the title for the TT to her. I have my eye on a shorter one with no slide. I've seen the one with a dinette, but want to look at the same models without a dinette, and that one is in UT. Hopefully that dealer will still have it when I get up that way.

I have reservations booked in southern UT so I can see the big 5 parks there (Bryce, Zion, Arches, Canyonlands & Capital Reef). After that will be heading to Yellowstone and SD to change residency. Beth - I may bug you for CG in SD ;) Keeping fingers crossed for heading up to northern FL. Cold I don't mind and the TT can handle it. I just don't want to haul in snow, so last minute changes may be needed.

Well that's it from this newbie full-timer. Can't believe it's already been 4 months, 5 including the month I traveled with Lyn to CA. Have a good day everyone and stay safe on the roads.

I slept in until noon today because I was up until 3 am finishing some papers. I feel really groggy today, from last night and probably from busy last few days, also, so I needed that sleep. Today and all this week I will be really busy with grading stuff. Am planning on getting to bed earlier tonight! :)

However, I have a great spot here at McDowell and pulled my rig in forward so I have a great view out of my windshield and side windows to the east and slightly north at the mountains in the distance. No other rigs to block my view and next campers beside me are at least 300-400 feet away!

Ava, I know your family is glad the motorcycle is gone. We let my older son get a dirt bike when he was a kid and that piece of crap was in the shop all the time. After that experience he never did want a motorcycle. I am always worried when friends that have never ridden a motorcycle or scooter decide to get one. One friend went down going across a cattle guard and broke her shoulder. As my son says, that's not in my plan on living to be 100.

The rain finally got here about 1:00 last night with some scary lightening and wind. Now it's showing more rain for tomorrow thru Friday. I sure would like to know if we are going to have anymore cold weather. I would like to move the Ficus tree back outside. That thing is getting too big to move around much.

I told my sister that I would stop at the DMV and see if they had the book for kids to study for their license. The parking lot was full when I went by this morning. The DMV where she lives told her to go on line and download and print the book. It's 139 pages. That would take a lot of ink. Their web site says you can pick up a book. If the local offices are not going to give them out we should be able to order one for a reasonable price. The web site also wants to sell a cheat sheet for $10. The government is just getting ridiculous.

Lola is getting more used to Emmy now.

Sunny and cool again today but rain coming tonight and tomorrow. Hope it is an off and on thing. I have two people coming by tomorrow to pick up a couple things I have for sale. Don't want it raining for that. I also have to clear out my storage unit as well.

I split my pants at work today! Luckily one of my coworkers had a sewing kit so I could patch them up enough to get by for the rest of the day. I have gained about 10 pounds since I moved out here so I have to squeeze into my work pants now. I decided that I need to try and lose some of those pounds this next month or two. Need to knock off the chips, cookies and brownies and replace them with fruits and veggies instead. Also going to check out some fitness centers around here to join. There are several around here that are very affordable with good classes and equipment to offer. One of the options is Curves. I need some feedback/opinions from those of you (Velda) who have been members of that club.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, I like Curves for several reasons. It appealed because it was women only. Then I looked at equipment which is all piston driven like shocks in car the harder you push the more resistance. They are connected to a computer that shows how hard you are pushing. It is the only club I found which was involved in collecting data specifically for a university study for women. Each time I work out, I check in using a little key card I have then I check into the data computer and after workout I check out and it tells me how hard I worked compared to previous workouts. It makes you have to work harder each time to get green so pushes you gently along. My club has Zumba classes , balance class and a couple of others offered in addition to going around the circuit. The circuit consists of about 17 machines with mats I between. You dance or jog on mats between machine and the music tells you when to move to next. Workout takes about 30 min plus any other class you want to take. Your data is sent minus your name or personal ID to a University in Austin doing the ongoing research which through my 9 years has resulted in some machine revamps as they get findings from he study they make machines better to work the muscle group they are targeting. I'm lucky my club has wonderful owners, Patty is a breast cancer survivor and is very sensitive to each gals needs whether they are 85 year old Charlotte with scoliosis or 25 year old Leslie training for strength , the machines accommodate everyone because you are challenged against yourself each time. The recommend is 3 times a week but you can go as often as you like. If you go two in a row the tag you insert for data in each machine will have the machine to tell you not to,work as hard than if going every other day and you can tell by lights how hard to push..
If you have health insurance check to, see if they cover Curves, some do. Mine covers me under the silver sneaker program and covers all but $10 a month. I was paying I think $40, until our insurance added the program. I have made many good friends and really found it easy to stick to. My core strength is much stronger after years of Curves because of how, balanced the program is for the entire body. I haven't had a bad back spasm in years! curves is all over the Uzs and you can get permission to workout at a different place when on vacation. Go check it out. Usually they will give you a tour and have you try some machines. They also have you weigh and they measure various places and calculate monthly and give you feedback. they can work you whatever your goals.

Barbie, I also went to Curves for ten years, right up to the day they closed their doors. And What Velda said is 100% accurate and I highly recommend you check them out.
