What a mix of sad and sweet, Beki. I'm glad you can go north to say goodbye with all the people she loved.

We had the pelican parade this morning! There are sixty (or maybe more) on the little lake today, and they come together and parade along the shoreline for a few minutes. This is just a subset. It's a good thing the neighbors had a camera, because I was too busy gawping!

Who are these gorgeous creatures? Some kind of heron, I think? We have about half a dozen here just now. Lovely, graceful birds.

Errands are beckoning. Everybody have a great day!

Beki, sorry about your Mom. I'm glad for her wonderful life.

I'm only intending to drive about 70 miles today... But who knows, I could change my mind lol

Another beautiful day on tap here in Q. Beth left yesterday and Alice will be heading out some time this morning. Lyn, Sharon, Evie (I think), Kerry, I and, of course, Sheila are still here enjoying the beautiful desert and each other. Hope everyone has a wonderful day and those on the road travel safe.

Louise, they are White Ibis, NOT! ID’d by the long curved bills. UPDATE: I was just chatting with Sue and had a blip...and said wait those aren’t Ibis they are Wood Storks. The head is dark gray and bill is curved but black not bright colored! Duh, I should have looked it up.

Beki so sorry about your Mom but glad that she let you know she was ready to meet Jesus. Glad you Q ladies are having a good time. We are having a nice sunny mornin in south TX. Never know how long that will last. You west coasters sending us more yucky weather.

Thanks, Birdie! I was sure you'd know. ;)

EDITED

Thanks all over again, Birdie! They sure are beautiful. I just checked Wickipedia, which tells me they were on the endangered list, but are now on the threatened list. Wow! And here are five of them hanging out on our little lake!!! :D

Going to do a late post tonight since I am going to get on the road tomorrow and usually do not go online until I get to my spot.

I took a 10 mile electric bike ride yesterday and met some interesting beach hosts, but I really overdid it and ended up just wiped out last night. My stamina is not very good lately, even with the bike being electric. I was going to go out riding today, but had to dump my tanks, so decided to go out in the RV to get a haircut and wander around the nearby shopping center. I am so often is such isolated places, a shopping center is the ultimate "civilization" for me! Pretty bad, isn't it?

Anyway, picked up a few groceries, so I am all set for for the next week at Lake Pleasant. And she did a really good job on my hair. Like my mother, my normally straight hair has picked up a couple of curls in all the wrong places, so I really like a haircut that can tame them. Still really worn out from yesterday and today, so I am not budging from my recliner for the rest of the evening, except maybe for a snack or two.
