Alice used to be out in the BLM by me and she wasn't contained would take her potty over to the
toilets and dump them in there every day or two...there is water available in BLM land if you pay the fee for staying and this gal right here has a big 30 gal blue tank that I can have full haven't yet not been in Q long enough to bother picking it up...when I get back will do so...can't help with the cold but those buddy's come in 3 sizes one is pretty small... and truly they are safe but if you can't find a space for them can understand...

Thanks, Sheila!

I definitely didn't know that there was a "dump" available. I have no problem with "dumping" my Thetford - the "tank" is fairly unobtrusive, it is easy to do (I have often dumped it when staying at various types of campgrounds - when I couldn't make it to the Ladies room in the middle of the night the Thetford was a real bonus!!  ).

Good news about the water, also. I could get an additional 5 gal. . . tote?. . . that would give me 15 gallons total for washing and such, which should be plenty (I always use bottled water for drinking when traveling, as I have a sensitive stomach), knowing of a place to refill would ease my mind.

Knowing there is water available is new information, I wouldn't mind paying the fee.

Wow! The only thing I need do now is get my solar set up so that I can run my fridge. Truth to tell, the thought of this adventure is a bit "scary" (I am a bit of a fraidy-cat) but do-able! Perhaps I won't make a reservation at a campground after all.

My first-ever GTG (with those aforementioned ax-murderers  ) was at Eagle Lake last August. I truly enjoyed the experience, and meeting strong, like-minded, adventurous women at the GTG was the best!

THANKS, Sheila! :D

I always bring extra gallon jugs and buy water several times while out there. 25 cents per gallon. I think $1 for 5 gallons.

I will be glad to drive and pick up anyone as I too will have a truck.

I go over to "the Show" at least 3/4 times as I get tired walking so make more trips of a shorter duration.

Hi all,

I'm pondering joining you all this year. I've got my generator running & just might be able to come out for a night or two. (Guess I'd better make sure my furnace works too  )

So how do we find you out here? Just head out to La Posa North? Any landmarks to follow? Or do we just look for a bunch of women who look like they could be trouble if left to their own vices long enough?

I'll check out the furnace in the next week or so & decide if I can do it or not, but thought I'd start asking my questions.

Hi Catherine. I sure hope you can join us. When you check in at the gate to La Posa North, you can call any of us and we’ll drive out and lead you back. I’d be glad to do that. If you don’t still have my number, let me know and I’ll PM it to you. Let us know when you decide that you’ll come and what date you’ll be arriving. Looking forward to seeing you.

Yay! Would be great to meet you, Catherine! There are signs to "nowhere" but the first time it's nice to call and get some help, as Sandi has suggested.

i hope you do decide to come out to Q, Catherine. It has been a long time. Fiesta Island wasn't it? Last I heard, the city was ticketing persons staying the night on Fiesta Island,( in their $30,000 rigs, self contained) but letting the homeless pee and poop on our downtown streets causing the hepatitis A problem!!!

My soap box is a large one. lyn

Well, I truly hope that I can catch up with you ladies. Even considering spending next winter there. Kind of sorry I paid for this RV park here in Apache Junction. Getting excited.

Sounds like fun. I would love to finally meet many of you in person & reconnect with everyone else.
Yes, Lyn, it was Fiesta Island - each time I heard a car start up or drive by, I just knew it was the police coming to tell us to move on. At least at Quartzite i won't have to worry about that. :D

Unless you park by the forum gals...you know how much trouble they can cause, even out in the desert! They could keep the Q police very busy!

I was planning on leaving this morning right after guitar class. However. Benjishowed signs of being quite sick this morning . He has been at the vet all morning, and, the doc can find nothing wrong with him!!! XRays and blood tests all neg.

So, when he gets back home, I will put him in my truck and we will start for the desert! I won’t make it all the way today.
Will arrive tomorrow.
See you all Then, lyn
