Christmas Eve - Merry Christmas

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

I finally got my Christmas tree up by about 4:30 or so this evening (Christmas eve). Had to get it up before dark; I have never in my life been without a lit Chrismas tree on Christmas eve, and didn't want to start now. I have colored lights on it that do a slow, random, twinkle.

Maybe I should have put it up sooner; sitting here on the couch just now, watching the lights blink and glow, is making me feel very much at peace.

A few more things to do; been cleaning house since ten this morning (it is now six). Actually, been cleaning house all week - the oven, washing the walls, the porch & etc.

Tomorrow I will make homemade from-scratch pumpkin pies, home-made from scratch whole wheat bread (I got the recipe from the mother of a friend when I was a teenager. Haven't made it in years, went looking through my recipe box, and there it was. A little surprised I still had it.

Rib roast, potatoes, green salad, and brocolli with cheese sauce for Christmas dinner tomorrow. And a little champagne to wash it all down.

Off to walk the dog just now, he is making a racket.

Merry Christmas, everyone. I wish each one of you, of whatever faith, peace, joy and love on this special night.

Thank you.

I went to church this morning and then to work. Made my turkey dinner tonight and then called my brother David. Both brothers and their families were together tonight. They opened their gifts from me at the same time and both really loved them! I am so happy! :D David sounded good and I was glad I called him. He said that gift made his whole Christmas. Got a text from Paul saying pretty much the same thing. We don't have very good memories of the house we grew up in but we spent a lot of time down at the dock and on the lake so that was our "happy place" growing up. This will bring good memories for all of us.
Maybe we will have better communication between us now...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
