Tuesday, 5 days to Christmas

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday, 5 days to Christmas

Postby Colliemom » Tue Dec 19, 2017 8:57 am

Morning everyone. Bit wet out there this morning. Having a mini thaw with fog, drizzle and now temps dropping, snow moving in. Looks like it must have rained a bit or something last night as it’s a bit icy on hard ground surfaces. Schools are closed here. Only ones in the north. Otherwise business as usual.

Tina, glad you made it home safely. Now off to ciddle the new bundle of joy. Eth, love Buddy. And Red is my favorite color too. I know you will master the loading and unloading issues. My brain is already thinking solutions and it’s not even mine

Not sure what I am getting into today. Have things I can do, but do I want to do them  Know I will run the vac and wash my hair. Had it cut yesterday and it’s always it hy from the stuff she puts on afterwards. Was an expensive day yesterday between haircut, doggie spa day, picking up their flea/tick meds, gassing up truck, paying property taxes  You get the drift......

Enough jabbering about nothing here. Have a nice day all.

We had rain overnight and more is suppose to be coming. The radar shows most of the rain in Texas and North of here. It is foggy this morning. At least it's not cold and I think it's suppose to be in the 70's this afternoon.

I am going to meet my friend Carolyn for lunch in Lafayette. I haven't seen her since we camped in New Orleans. That will be fun. I might hit a few stores if the crowds aren't too bad. Not that I need anything.

Drew was all ready to get up and start his wonderful day as soon as I rolled over and yawned this morning. He used his command bark on me!

But it was ok as soon as we got outdoors. Because . . .

fog was just burning off the little lake, and the world was luminous. :D

Louise, that is such a beautiful peaceful photo! I used to love seeing the morning mist over the lake I grew up on.

Sue, you should tell your stylist not to use that product on your hair if you get that reaction from it. You are probably allergic to an ingredient in it. She needs to know that and woould appreciate you telling her, so she is aware of that in the future for you and other clients.

Lola and I are hanging out in the porch this morning. The powerwashing must have flooded the ground near the house as I found swarms of ants in a panick yesterday morning all around the outside of the porch. Also saw what I think is a wolf spider (they live in the ground) on the side of my porch too. I need to get something to take care of the ant problem. I hate to kill things outside but there are way too many of them around here and I don't want them to decide to invade the inside of the house.

I need to pick up the trim for my floors and find out when they are going to be installed. I sent out my "dock" Christmas gifts to my brothers yesterday so that is finally done. (the board is a piece of the dock that is in the photo from 1956).

Need to get to some cleaning around here and try out my washer and dryer with my piled up laundry. Then off to work later on.

Hope you all have a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Mornin' ladies~~~

Woken up today by a murder...of crows, pecking on the roof of Colt. And yes crows, not ravens. I've learned the difference in California :D . Also have seen another camper throwing shoes at them when they landed on his roof & started the same thing.

All hitched up & ready to hit the road. Will be spending Christmas in Lake Havasu. It will hopefully be an uneventful 2 hour drive. Will again do the touristy thing and see the London Bridge.

I've developed a propane leak & the soap test on the fittings & what I can get to aren't bubbling. I have an appointment with an RV tech on Friday. So needless to say, the space heater is getting a work out & it will be CG showers until fixed. The thermostat is on the fritz too & the factory will send it to me once I'm in the park for Q, but just may have the tech replace that too.

Not much else happening, but that's enough to deal with. Have a great day ladies, be safe wherever you are & have a Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday, etc if I don't check in by then.

Beautiful job on the dock pic, Barbie. Love it!

I am slowly packing the RT for my week at Hillsborough River SP near dd for Christmas. Plan to do some kayaking too. Reserved a site a long time ago right beside the kayak launch.

Good morning all. Really chilly here in No. Central CA this morning.

Barbie, your dock present came out really nice. Your brothers will love them. Did you make one for yourself?

Cheryl will you be at Lake Havasau for the balloon festival coming up soon?

Have a great day everyone!

Yes, I had 4 boards so I made two for my brothers, one for me and the 4th one was my practice board.

CHilly here is Napa, also. Took kids out for clothes shopping for their Christmas present. At 10 and 12, they are getting picky on clothes, plus they both have grown a lot as they are entering puberty. Boy at 12 now has a mustache--or at least the beginnings of one! ANd he is taller than me by several inches and wears size 10.5 shoes! Girl is almost as tall as me and just starting to develop, but still growing taller and putting a little weight on her previous skin and bones.

I head out on Thursday for Las Vegas. Enjoy visiting, but always glad to get on the road.

Barbie, you might want to get an inspection and make sure you don't have termites. Either way, yep, you want them gone from your home. And the board turned out great!

Yesterday I had 7 + bins of mail and packages to sort... The wife of another workamper had volunteered more than once to help if I needed it and I finally took her up on it. She worked with me over 2 hours! And I finished everything about 10 minutes before my end of shift. Whew! I expected today to be not quite as busy, but instead... Boring! This city has a contracted post office... They sort when they get to it. I'm predicting a busy day again tomorrow. After this week it should return to normal, though.

I sent my title and paperwork to a friend in SD.. who will go into the county offices and get Buddy licensed, etc, for me. Sometime after the first of the year he'll hopefully be legal do that I feel safe taking him out on the road.

Just killing time now until my work day is done.

Beth, I did have it inspected for termites and there were none found luckily! I put out 16 ant poison stakes today so that should take care of them.
