Fresh New Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Fresh New Monday

Postby BirdbyBird » Mon Oct 23, 2017 8:26 am

Monday is starting out slowly around here. Josef and I went to the dog show this weekend and helped others get their points this time. Still had a good time with friends that I don't see as often and got to clap and "WhooHoo" as they went around the Owner handler Group rings. At the end of the day I still got to bring home the best dog. Yes there is politics in dog shows and judges opinions are not all the same. I reminded my friends that Josef had beaten both dogs before several times and I felt confident that in the long haul he would continue to just not this weekend. So we celebrated the parts of the victories that we could.

Still haven't made a deal on a used mini van. Thought I had one last week but by the time I had my mechanic check it out and the dealer started the repairs I began to get enough feed back that made me lose confidence in the vehicle's ability to carry the dogs and I down the road for another 100,000 miles or so. At some point I began to doubt. If the previous owners had used it or neglected it enough to cause these issues what else is just waiting for me in another 5,000 miles, etc. Think I am going back to the search and see what other options I can evaluate. I told the salesman that I though I figured he was disappointed I sort of thought that his manager would be happy because he can put the van back on the lot and bump up the price to recoup the expense of the engine repairs.....

Sounds as if it is going to be chilly and wet here in Ohio this week but that happens here in Ohio. I am thankful that the weekends have been lovely.

May Good Fortune travel with everyone this week even if it is just in quiet moments that help you remember to pause, appreciate, breathe and send out quiet thank yous to the universe.

Good Morning Everyone!! Tina, it sounds like you're having a great time with your dogs, sometimes they are the best company :D I say that as I look at my little one here, he is my only company majority of the time and he plays with his toys a lot. Maggie, wasn't a toy playing dog so this is all new to me and I love watching him. He's also a late riser which is good too, gives me time to do my morning routine leisurely before having to take care of him. We suit very well :D

Not sure when the rain is due , but I'm hoping we don't get any of those high winds Martha was talking about. Doesn't look like a pool day today out there and think temps drop tomorrow, so I may be out of luck for awhile.

Need to get moving, no real news and brain is not awake and working either :D just nice to be able to check in and feel certain it will post. You all have no idea how much news you missed out on because my long post went poof, then to,you all may be very fortunate

Hope everyone has a great day, stay safe,
CArol

I remember the politics when we were showing horses. When I was still in high school I had a man tell me that he thought I got the points not the horse. What a sore loser.

It is cool and sunny today after the storm yesterday. I think it's headed back into the upper 70's.

No plans for today. Guess I need to start loading the motorhome for Thursday. I was late making my reservations so wasn't sure I would be able to get with the group but someone cancelled and I got my favorite spot. Not under the trees so my satellite will work. Where my sister and I usually camp I have to bring the portable satellite. Need to put worms on my list. They are cheaper at Walmart than at the bait shops on the lake. The Louisiana group likes to do crafts, so they can craft and I will fish. I need to see if there is any wood small enough to bring from the tree that got hit by lightening.

Tina, hope you find your vehicle. I miss my van but not the gas it used. I didn't really pay attention to how much gas it used until I got the CR-V that gets almost twice the gas milage.

Mornin ladies~~~
LYN & I are currently in Deming, NM. Night 2 of 2 today. At the Ford dealer today getting a oil change & tires rotated. The regular chores need to still be done as we all know.

Ate breakfast at the hotel next door this AM. We will be doing misc errands alone today. I'd like to see if I can find a handle to replace the lost one and a car wash. Spilled a small milk shake the other day. Stupid elbow

Next stop? That's up to Lyn, but we may get to Q for a couple of days to show me around & to see where Sheila parks.

That's all from me. Stay safe wherever you are.

Good morning.
Storm blew thru mostly during the night... heavy rains gone, just scattered showers left but still very windy. A lot of small tree debris down and I just had gutters and drain tops cleaned Saturday. Can't tell it now.
I'm cold (in the low 60s here) so maybe if I get up and move around a little will feel warmer.
Think it will be mostly a paperwork sorting day.

Checking in! Past morning but….you know how it goes! Windy as all get out today so anything I planned to do outside is out of the question. If I tried I’d wouldn’t be able to breathe because of the allergies. It’s hard to believe that it’s the 23rd of October and we haven’t had a killing frost yet. It’s making it hard for farmers to harvest. DH did get the beans out but the corn is not dry enough to combine.

Last week I had Bronc a couple of days. Pink eye and couldn’t go to daycare. He wasn’t a happy camper because he couldn’t go outside and my DVD player had died so no Paw Patrol movies! Miss Hadley was at daycare and that just bugged him to no end.

Had a fun day yesterday. Several of my high school friends and I went to the musical “Church Basement Ladies” at my college alma mater. It was excellent and hilarious! If you ever have a chance to see it….GO!

Have a good week!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Really late posting, but I dumped tanks and went out for some groceries this morning. Since then, been online getting some assignments ready for next week.

If you are every looking for a really, really quiet COE campground out in the middle of nowhere, but with a pretty view, Hidden View on Hensley Lake is perfect. Lake is good for kayaking, but not much else, but this area is extremely hilly, so sites are nice and all have a view. Dry and brown vegetation now, but last night just before dark, I saw a herd of deer silhouetted on a hill on the opposite side of the campground. Neat, but no time to take pictures. There are 50 sites here, 14 with electric, and there are only four sites occupied tonight. There were three occupied last night, and we are all spread out. So quiet, I can occasionally hear cows in the distance and people talking on a campsite way on the other side! $15 senior rate for electric site.

This is California cattle country, so lots of really big ranch houses. One interesting thing is that several have burned all the grass within maybe 100' of their homes. Blackened yards look a little weird but better than a grass fire, I guess. Considering all the fires in California in the past month, guess I don't blame them.

Very good news is that Napa schools are back in session today. Kids have been out for two whole weeks. They will have counselors and advisors available all this week for kids who have lost their homes. Lunches are free all this week and extra school supplies are available for kids that need them. Free lunches are due to time it takes to get kids who have lost homes signed up for financial aid for school meals. Got to be rough on kids. (DIL is principal of middle school nearest the Silverado fire which burned country club and several subdivisions.)
