And the forum is sleeping!

Sarah checked in on FB. Glad to know she's ok.

Tired here... Everything is slowing down, the day is dragging. I'd love to head home and climb back in bed! Haha

Mornin' Beth ~ Good to know Sara is OK. Anyone heard from Martha? She may be getting slammed with rain too. Sorry to hear about CG that got destroyed. Going to be a longtime cleanup down there. I can't imagine trying to sit out a hurricane, only to be rescued later.

Not much happening here. Doing some full timing research (posted a question about mail forwarding). Finally joined Facebook 3 days ago and have already been blocked from a group when I tried to join it. Guess they didn't like my answers to the questions. I'll never know, but I have a good guess at who may have blocked me. Well at least I'm in on the 2 Grand Design groups so I can see other peoples likes/dislikes.

Nothing on the agenda today, so it's a computer day. Dogs are liking this sitting outside all day thing. Punkin is mesmerized by chipmunks and both of them keep getting woken up by acorns bombing us. Getting to be Fall-like in the Chitown burbs lately. OK with me.

Well enough blabbering. Have a good day ladies, stay safe wherever you are.

Hi Beth, Cheryl & everyone!

Beth, I'm so sorry about the devastation at the campground where you worked and have friends. We've been watching the coverage on TV and my heart breaks for all of them.

Cheryl, my hubby & I only part time and we have a friend that sends our mail one or two times a month. Most of our bills are deducted automatically out of our checking account and that makes life so easy for us. I know there are other routes to take, but for the time being, this works for us.

We were flooded out of our house a couple weeks ago, for the fourth time in 30+ years, and spent two weeks in a campground in our motorhome. We have been scrubbing floors, waxing, replacing rugs, etc. We are back home, in the driveway with the motorhome, waiting for things to continue drying. This morning, we took my car to a shop in Annapolis to see if they can do anything about all the damage from previous floods. Last week, we put Historic Tags on it, since it is 20 years old. The flood last week was just from heavy rain. We had over six inches of rain in three hours and the previous week, our yard flooded from another heavy rain. Only a week after our house flooded, the yard flooded one more time. Needless to say, everything here is damp. But considering what the folks in Houston are going through, this was just a sprinkle.

There is a chance that Brendac may spend a little time here before the three of us head to Florida for the winter.

I'm so glad to see that Sara posted on Facebook and that she is okay.

I wasn't sleeping this morning. I got up at 5 am, and starting at 6 am, have been emptying out the RV. Wow, that RV has a lot of storage space, and I managed to fill it all through the years. I can't believe all the crap I was hauling around! Major downsizing going on...that won't happen in a Roadtrek! So I have a lot of RV related stuff to give away if anyone wants it. I filled my laundry basket multiple times all day, using it to transfer things to the house. Ran out of room to put things in the house, lol. Each basket full was heavy...so imagine how much weight was stored in there. Even the clothes were heavy...got too many accumulated I guess. Anyway, it's empty, and I cleaned cabinets as I went, so just need to clean the floor and maybe wash the outside tomorrow. I trade it in on Wednesday. Oh, and find a place in my house cabinets and two closets to put things because most of not is not going in the Roadtrek.

I don't have a TV here yet, so trying to keep up with Texas flooding on the computer during breaks. Saying lots of prayers for them, and when things slow down here, I'll figure out what I can do to help them there.

Liz, I had too much in my last rv... I'm terrified to think how much more I've accumulated. I'm starting to throw good things away! :o

So far so good with the rain here for us. About noon we had about 9 inches of rain since Friday. It didn't rain all afternoon so a lot of the standing water drained off of the yard and pasture. We even had sea gulls flying around the house for a while. That's only the second time I have seen that in 40 years. It's raining hard again so a band must be coming through. I could see from posts on Facebook that the streets were flooded in town so I didn't even try to get to the nursing home. We will just have to take this day by day to see what we are going to get. Besides all the rain we have received, the rain North of here will be coming down the rivers. It is hard to believe what is going on in Texas. They will be dealing with this for years and years like New Orleans.

Irma, you have more fortitude than I would have to clean a flooded house for the 4th time. Every time we have something like this I start looking at some where we could go. I like where we live except when we need to evacuate. We have too much that needs to be moved.

I had to unload a 27' motorhome when I bought the 23' one. The 27' one had big bays like a Class A plus the inside storage. I still have a couple of bins in the old house with stuff that came out of the 27' one. Most of it is dishes and containers and just plain junk which could probably go in the trash.
