Last Sunday of August

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Sunday of August

Postby Colliemom » Sun Aug 27, 2017 6:35 am

Good Morning. Hard to believe t's the end of August already. Actually yas felt more like September. Watching the dramaunfolding in Hot ston this morning with rapidly rising flying odwaters. Lot of water rescues going on, the waters are rising and people are trying to find places to get higher. They are being warned not to get into attics unless they have a way out. 2 people have died n Houston.

Beth, sorry to hear about the campground. But glad your friends are okay. I have a feeling there will be a lot of "snowbirds" who will have to rearrange ther winter plans.

Have the last of the deck painted, so other than a couple steps, painting is done. Hoping to work on shed doors today and get the new wood in place before more rainy weather moves in. Had a fun day yesterday as some neighbors came over to see the house and my trailer. They want to get an RV. Another one wandered over and we had a gab fest going in the trailer  same group having dinner together at one of their houses tonight. Last time together for this sumer as one couple leaving for FL home and back to wintervjobs.

Off to gwt ready for church. So you all have a Blessed Sunday. Prayers for those in the flooded areas of TX and those experiencing health issues. Safe teavels to those on the roads.

Good morning
I was up way too early this morning, guess sometime today I'll get a nap. I had a nice conversation with the lady next door yesterday. We exchanged phone numbers in the event of an emergency with my dad.
The yard work is almost finished and then I can mow the lawn. Trying to keep everything in mind to get done before I leave. a couple weeks away yet but its going to go by fast. Missing my friends and family back home lately. It's still hot there but will be cooler by the time I roll back into town. If not, I'll just hang out somewhere like Flagstaff or Showlow until the weather breaks.
Seeing the pictures of the damage from the hurricane is quite disturbing. Feel so bad for those folks.
My brother posted a picture on FB where his motorhome lost the whole skin on the upper side. He doesn't know how it happened, and the mh is only 2-3 years old. But it looks bad.
Don't know that we had any high winds around here but I also don't know where they went after visiting here.
Also heard from my sister, she just did her 3rd infusion treatment and is doing well. The picture she posted looks great! Don't know how many treatments she has yet to do but next ct scan is October. It is metastatic melanoma. So,, ya this cancer thing really sucks.
No more to say this morning. Y'all have a great day, he safe.

Thinking of all those in the storm area. I have trouble even imagining the amount of rain they are predicting.
Josef and I are in day 4 of our dog show here in Owensboro. Everyone here has enjoyed the slightly cooler fall temperatures. Neither dogs nor handlers do well in the heat. Josef has picked up some more Owner Handler points and I haven't tripped over Josef yet so we are doing well. The #1 English Cocker in the country is showing here his weekend and that takes the presssure off us!

Stay steady on your chosen course for the day. Travel with great expectations if you are traveling and those dealing with life's more unpleasant detours keep moving through and remember to breathe.

Is Josef sizing up number #1 for a future challenge?

Mostly working on the van here today -- why do I always keep getting more ideas? Maybe tracking down some photos for the new manuscript this evening.

Made it home after a long day's drive. Tomorrow I will empty out the RV. I know I will be dismayed by how much I managed to carry in there! Tuesday or Wednesday I will drive to Gainesville and pick up my new Roadtrek, depending on how long it takes me to clean out this one.

I did get a text from Sarah today. She is ok, but still not feeling well. She says she'll post soon.
