Goodbye Sweet Amy

Postby monik7 » Mon Jul 31, 2017 3:06 pm

I had to put down my sweet kitty Amy today. She would have been 16 on Oct. 7. She had been going downhill during the last year and stopped eating on Saturday. It could have been several things. I suspect kidneys. No matter. I had decided I didn't want to subject her to treatment at her age. I'm waiting now outside the crematorium and will bring her home. She will continue to travel with us in her little cedar box next to Krissi in hers. They will "ride shotgun" together.

I am so sad for you! It is always so hard to let our furkids go. She had a great life with you tho. Cherish the memories!

Sorry to hear about Amy and she had a great life with you. Surprising you with being the best travel kitty when you had doubts, she showed you. I still remember her first trip on a leash. She just walked around like she owned the place and had been doing it forever. I loved watching the smile on your face as I think she even surprised you. I was waiting for a rodeo LOL but noooo, she just ambled along like she had been doing it all her life. I am sure you will miss her terribly but she will still be traveling by your side and next to Krissi. ((((((HUGS))))))

You're right Karen. Having been a totally inside cat from the very beginning when she was a tiny rescue kitten, seeing her put her feet on the ground while wearing a harness and on a leash at the Oregon GTG at Seven Feathers was a surprise and amazing. Thanks for mentioning it. I'm so glad she had a chance there and other times after to get out and see the world. She was always glad to get back inside though. I miss her so much already.

I should have put this in my first post. This was Amy's first RV trip. Already a veteran. Thanks for allowing me to come back and talk about her. It helps.

Oh, Sandi, I'm so very sorry. She was lucky to be rescued by you. And, as always, I think they all rescue us, too. She'll remain with you forever.

Amy beat Zipper to the leash walking....now they are both up in heaven walking their hearts together. It is sad, isn't it?! Lyn
