Houses

Postby Lotus » Fri May 01, 2009 12:16 am

Lately there's been mention of selling houses and/or not selling houses. As of this afternoon we now have a For Sale sign in our yard. It's exciting to know we are ready (or almost ready) for this step. Some months ago I received wonderful advise from many of you gals about the process of downsizing, decluttering, etc. It started out as a very difficult task, but the further I went the easier it became. Throughout this process I've even gone back to my original post to read again the wonderful support from all of you. We had a huge yard sale this weekend. Got rid of many items and junk. Made much money from the sale. Then Monday we took two truckload of donations to our local library and to Goodwill and Good Samaritan. This sale was strictly from "stuff" in our living areas and garage. Next we tackle the attic!! Plus Ron will pull out his good tools that he with held from the yard sale!! Prior to this sale I had been selling on Craigslist and also did very well. I've sold some things that I just knew I'd have all my life. It's interesting to see how things that have been so important can finally just become things that you wonder why on earth you kept for that length of time!

I had an email this afternoon from Margie (Ms B'Haven) wishing me "Carolyn's luck" on selling our house! That would be awesome to sell it as quick as hers sold. If that happened, then I'd really panic and need advice and support!

Becky you had best be prepared!! The word is that houses in Nashville and surrounding areas are still a good market. Matter of fact before we left work doing mortgage servicing it was said that it was like Nashville hadn't heard a word about the slump in the housing market.

To tell ya the truth I think in the 3 1/2 months I worked mortgage I came across ? 2 ? houses that people needed loan modifications on and that was it. So you and Margie both might be in the fast lane for sales. ;)

Good luck on a quick, and profitable, sale!! That's good news from Echo about Nashville!!

And then, it's - Nevada, here you come, eh? :)

So many changes, and big ones, with lots of ladies here. How exciting!

Becky, you're a better woman than I am. Please know how lucky you are to
have Ron to share the excitement and work of this project and new beginning.

Wishing you lots of luck in selling your home! I seem to be stalled these past two weeks - not had any lookers at the house and didn't hold any more garage sales. When it sells and I have to get out, I know I will be abe to meet the deadline. I work better under pressure.

I think I owe Carolyn a drink - seems like we had a bet as to which house would sell first and she won. I'd make the same bet with you, but I've seen you (or didn't see you because you had to go to bed early) after a couple of margaritas! Echo, Kelly, Fernie and Carolyn were witnesses too!

Hmmmmmm?

You'll have to ask Carolyn about the Rhino Man she was all in a dither over!!!

Carolyn also had a strap on ball game that she and another did real good movements with!!!! Their moves were so good and practiced that the rest of us didn't stand a chance!!!

Thanks for all the good wishes and support! Michelle......yes, we'll be off to Nevada when it sells! And thank you Margie and Echo! For the record it was more than two margaritas as we (some of us) started earlier in the day. And yes I did go to bed and miss the campfire. I think it was all of the fresh air in Crossville! Echo, the game was Walla Balla. Carolyn and I each have the game and got them a good many years ago. Walla Balla is really more fun at night rather than breakfast!! So this is some of what happened at the TN GTG!!

I hope to have an update soon!!

Oh but it was you and Becky that had those movements down so pat. Got that ball in that basket so much better and faster than we did! LOL
