RIP CASEY

Postby SoCalGalcas » Sun Jun 25, 2017 12:27 pm

I have put off with this notification because I have been so depressed. Living in the condo, I had to walk her four times a day and all the residents got to know her. I am having trouble adjusting to not having to walk her, and just missing her. I even hear her coming to her bed in my bedroom still. When I return from an outing, like the grocery store, she is not there to greet me. My heart is broken.

I found a wonderful vet, on the recommendation of a friend, to come to the condo to put her down. It was a very peaceful way to let a dog go. My daughter was with me so that I was't alone.

The residents here are very sympathetic, especially those who have had puppies. Casey was very patient and kind to the puppies that jumped on her. My family, who themselves, have had to put pets down themselves, are very sympathetic.

Altho her first year was hell, I know her last 12 years have been heaven in a loving home. I'm glad I helped her to that kind of a life.

Lyn, I am so very sorry. Casey and you were a team... A wonderful team. Peaches and I are crying for you and telling Casey we'll see her running free without pain, but missing terribly her being your companion.

So very sorry, Lyn.

Words cannot express what I feel for you, as I sit here weeping. I, too, would feel my sweet one get carefully into my bed each night. . . long after she had gone.

I have lost many dogs over the years - three elderly, and much-beloved dogs, in the last four years alone. Over the long span of my life, many more before that. I know this pain.

I have posted the poem below before, but post it here again in the hope that, in perhaps some small measure, it might offer comfort. If only a little.

My hugs and prayers to you. My sincerest and most heartfelt condolences.

May God grant you solace in your time of need.

Anne

The Secret
author unknown

We have a secret, you and I,
that no one else shall know,
for who but I can see you lie
each night in fire glow?

And who but I can reach my hand
before we go to bed
and feel the living warmth of you
and touch your silken head?

And only I walk woodland paths
and see ahead of me,
your small form racing with the wind
so young again, and free.

And only I can see you swim
in every brook I pass,
and when I call, no one but I
can see the bending grass.

Lyn I know how much your heart is hurting right now. I was devastated when I lost my sweet Blossom in March. I am so sorry to read this and I know you did the right thing at the right time but it still is so damn painful. Many hugs to you but I know it is not the same as many licks. RIP Casey

Lyn, I'm so sorry. I hope I can type this through my tears for Casey and you. I loved your beautiful, sweet Casey and she truly was the perfect companion for you. I wish there was something I could do to make this easier for you, but know that Casey is free and running with all her friends and so thankful for you care and love. Take whatever time you need to grieve, but I promise you - you WILL see her again some day. She'll be right there waiting. (((((HUGS)))))

So very sorry Lyn. Losing a furry member of the family is devastating but at least you know you gave your baby a very good life.

Oh, my heart aches for you Lyn. It has been a very difficult year for you with the loss of your kitty and now Casey. Be comforted in the knowledge that you gave them a wonderful life full of adventures.

I am so very sorry, Lyn. I really enjoyed meeting Casey last winter -- lovely dog! So glad the vet could come to you. It does make things calmer and smoother for our dear four-legged family.
