Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morning. Quick hi before I run out for breakfast and WalMart. Need to restock a bit. Not sure what's on today's agenda as yet. Park has a complimentary 2 hour bus tour of the country side, so want to find out a bit about that. Might go touring myself this afternoon.

O'Sharon, sent you a PM. Barbie, beautiful pic of you and your daughter, but sorry about your little mishap with the car. Have a good day everyone and stay safe in storm areas or on the road.

Gmorning Sue & all to follow:)

Sue, hope you've had relief from the heat & humidity. Here in central NY the weather has turned perfect for a few days! Worked in yard all day yesterday, will do the same today before rain comes in for the weekend. But if I had my druthers, I'd be touring Lancaster County with you:)

Barbie, great pic of you & daughter! How wonderful that you appreciate the life she has, "what you couldn't give her." Such a sacrifice, but it paid off! Alice, you & Old Lady on the road yet? Somehow I've missed any news of fires in AZ, but you have lots of other places to go:) Lyn, I'm feeling the envy too--want to be on the road! But at least I'm getting my fence done to make being at home more enjoyable. Fence materials are stacked in the driveway, start day is Tuesday. Bro getting his tractor ready to bring here--has a post hole digger! Would be a real PITA job to dig 30 post holes by hand.

Hope all are doing well, have a great day & be safe wherever you are 8-)

Heading for Oscoda today, because the hospital has finally let Mick go! Hurrah!

Drew is going to be really happy. He has missed having more people to throw his ball since we got home -- and Mick is kind of a sucker for that.

Good morning all! So far it's a beautiful morning but possible storms this afternoon, scattered they say so who knows! I waited until late afternoon to get out in the backyard yesterday and cleaned up after to boys and mowed the yard. With all the rain we've gotten I was a bit surprised how dry the ground has gotten! So guess we could use rain. Temps were good yesterday after a few hot days but the humidity is so high it feels pretty uncomfortable outside. I'm thinking about chopping down a snowball bush that's gotten big but hasn't bloomed for a couple of years now! It's just ugly and crowding out other plantings so think it needs to go!

Barbie, your daughter is a beautiful young lady and looks just like you! Liz and Tina, loved your pictures of D.C! We had friends stationed there years ago and always enjoyed our trips there. Alice, looks like you're about ready to take off soon, enjoy! And Donna, you're about ready to close a chapter and start another. Exciting! Looking forward to hopefully seeing you this summer!

Time to get busy around here. Coffee is done so no excuses! Hope you all have a good day and travel safe.

Good morning ladies
few weeks ago when I spent a few days up at Diamond Pt,
the fire has reached that area and the roads are closed up there.
So sad for that, but the new growth will be amazing next year
when I go again.
The old lady is ready to go, made myself a list of out the door
things to do and hope to be on the road by 11. Its a 3 hr drive
to flagstaff and then I'll search around for a place to boondock.
Verizon signal in that area is spotty for some reason but if I have too
I'll go to an area with signal just to give daughter my location.
They are coming up Saturday. Then Monday, my journey continues.
On that note, y'all have a great day, be safe and have fun.
Somewhere with Ava and Maggie

Gorgeous day here and I have the day off. Sunny skies and low humidity so a good day to get stuff done in comfort!

Just dropped off my Cherokee at my mechanics to get checked over before my trip.

Sitting on my bed here and just discovered a small tick crawling on my face! Where the heck did he come from? I've just been out to the car and back this morning. (of course, now I am feeling things crawling all over me! )

Have a lot to do today so I better get busy! Don't have another day off until next Tuesday.

Ava, have fun on your adventure!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Beautiful day here at GC also. Going up o 85 today. Got some of the last quizzes to grade but that will go quickly so I can go out bike riding. Because I am at 7,000 feet, the sky is incredibly blue. Need to put on my new bike mirror and clean bike up.

I went out yesterday on the shuttle, but I really must be out of shape because every muscle in my body was aching yesterday and I really did not even do much walking. i need more exercise, but I really get sore easily.

Yuck about the tick! I have never had one on my body, but my problem with being in FLorida last winter and my horrible mosquito bites was that I always felt "buggy." Hate that.

ECK! about the tick too!!! One year, I went hiking in the mountains, came home, inspected all over took a shower, went to bed and felt a tick crawling on my belly!!! They are tricky little devils, aren't they. Glad you got it before it buried its head in your skin!!!

Velda's faux potato salad was a hit at the luncheon yesterday! Thanks, Velda.

Strange day, ups and downs...

Good news, I sold my Jeep but I didn't get what I wanted for it. I sold it to the owner of an auto body/mechanic shop near me where one of my clients works and told me to check with the owner. It was a lot of back and forth and finally when I went to my lowest amount, he offered to put 4 new tires on my Cherokee for me including labor (they are expensive tires because of the V8 Hemi needing bigger tires). I agreed, so that put me closer to what I was willing to sell it for. His son was thrilled about getting the Jeep. He loved it! They will probably fix it up and resell it tho, unless he decides he wants it himself. (turns out I have cut the owner's hair several times too!)

Earlier in the day, my Cherokee got a clean bill of health, but my mechanic (who was a good friend of my dad's and I have known for a long time and trust him) said the tires were not in good enough shape for my trip so they needed to be replaced. I decided to not have him replace them and told him I wanted to check around for a cheaper price (thinking Discount Tire). Then I got the offer from the guy who bought my other Jeep.

Tried to rescue another turtle today with horrible results. I pulled over and was waiting for a clearing in the traffic and was pointing at the turtle so people would see it and not run over it. The first car went around it but the second A$$hole intentionally steered right over it!! It was horrible! :o I was really po'd and upset! :x Why are people so cruel?? Not only did he kill the turtle but he knew I was trying to rescue it and still did it anyways.  So I am 0 for 2 in turtle rescues this week...
(On the positive side, I did figure out how to keep my doors from locking when I get out with the car still running.)

I found two ticks crawling on me today, one on my face while I was laying in bed! Then tonight, I discover the bite I got a few days ago is infected and swollen. Too late to go to urgent care tonight, so will go first thing in the morning. I removed the tick the other day so I know it was not a deer tick, just a regular tick, but I may have not gotten all the mouth parts removed.

So, like I said, it was a crazy day, good and bad...
