Still hot Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Still hot Wednesday

Morning all. Still toasty here in Gettysburg. Yesterday was probably the worst. Moving day today. Just over to Lancaster area, so no big hurry. Have enjoyed staying at this campground. Will come back here again, if I ever come back to Gettysburg.

Martha, consider yourself lucky that all you had was broken windows from the lightening strike. Was reading local news from home and lightening bolt struck a tree, traveled about 50 feet through it's roots and crashed right through a basement wall into a house, about 25 miles from where I live. Now that is downright scary. Even a cement block wall isn't safe it seems. Hope all of you in the plains area are keeping safe. Been some nasty stuff out there. I remember one year when lightening struck the ground near our house and traveled down our neighbors water line underground and up into the house. They had those old type metal heat raditors and it came up through one, blew a portable adio off it and made a hole in the ceiling and neighbor was sitting there watching TV at the time.

Time to finish breakfast here and start getting ready to roll later. No big hurry, as only have about 60 miles and can't check in too early. Have a nice say all. Stay safe.

Good morning ladies
ya know they say about best laid plans,,,,
had to cancel reservations at Sharp creek campground due
to the fires and smoke in he area. Instead, we will go up
toward Flagstaff. There is dispersed camping up by walnut canyon,
or Lake Mary. Very lovely area, its just the interstate 17 into
Flagstaff that's bad.
Gonna go fuel up this morning before it gets hot, then just
hang out in front of the tv.
Y'all have a great day, be safe and have fun.

Good Morning Everyone !!! Barbie, what a nice picture of you and your daughter !! I'm so glad for you that you had a nice visit with her, so sorry for the rest of your day, sure glad it all ended well.

Well, my RV is in the shop !! What a time finding right place to order parts from, seems A/C unit was installed in several different locations. I find this odd, so glad it worked out that my neighbor is fixing for me, he has only shop in this area to fix such and I think he's gone above and beyond to fix for me in a timely matter. Not totally ready inside for trip but grands will help, they are Soo excited about our upcoming trip. Hoping weather will settle down in the mid west. For all I'd like to show them our time is short due to their school starts back, first week of Aug.

That's my big news, getting excited here for family to come this weekend and my things I want will be gone out of here. Hoping rain doesn't interfere much, we're expecting off and on, most of wk end.

Safe travels for those on the roads, enjoy your day wherever or whatever you're doing, yes, Beth and Vickie planning on seeing you all and finally meeting Linda. I'll get in touch, still have your ph # Beth on my cell, unless you've changed it, yours too Vickie.

Take care all !!!

Gosh, Barbie, such a good thing that you called the police for help. Scary to get that hot and dehydrated! I'm so glad you had a great time with your daughter. Beautiful photo of you together!

Still hiding out from the heat today, although it's a bit cooler. Groceries, library, that sort of thing scheduled.

Barbie, loved the picture of you and Naomie. She sure is an active young woman. I spent a month in Belize some time ago. Really enjoyed the country. Did lots of swimming and hiking. It is still pretty primitive in places.

I'm still sitting "twittering my thumbs" waiting to go camping. Next yr I'm doing things differently.

Going to our retired WSI luncheon today. Taking Velda's faux potato salad. Last night my daughter had it and liked it. Said it is a keeper.

Going to do some sightseeing today and look through the gift shops. My birthday is Sunday, and my son did not know what to get me, so I suggested I pick something out here when he arrives. Need to do some pre-shopping. Also need to get my sewer hose out and dump my tanks later today. The campground people suggest you not leave them out all the time here because the badly behaved crows like to peck holes in them!

Very pleasant place here at Trailer Village in GC. Especially nice during the day when all the tourists head home! Most people stay only one or two nights. I am staying 9! That is what is amazing about being retired. And Alice, check into Flagstaff. They had fires down near there a couple of days ago, so I had to backtrack from 180 and take longer route here.

Nice to see everyone on the road or preparing to get on the road! :)

We finally had a big enough window of no rain for the tree service to cut the tree down. There were dark clouds all around but they moved off. I wish I had ask the guy how tall he though it was. The lightening had split it all the way to the main fork. A couple of wind storms and it would have fallen.

Barbie, your daughter is beautiful and looks just like you.

Good Grief CArol, school starting the first of August. It starts here around the middle of August. It seems to get earlier every year. That's so they can take all the breaks they do. I don't remember us having any breaks. Now they take a week for spring break and then a week for Easter. You don't think they could combine that. It makes it hard for people that work and have to find baby sitters for kids out of school. My grandson in New Jersey doesn't get out for summer until the middle of June and later if they have to make up snow days.

Harold went to the rehab doctor yesterday. What a waste of time. All he did was release us and tell us we needed to find a local doctor. They didn't even check his blood pressure. He has to go to the Doctor that did the surgery on Monday and it's probably just to release him too.
