Wednesday and Rolling out

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday and Rolling out

Postby Colliemom » Wed Jun 07, 2017 6:03 am

Morning all. Carolb, was so nice to hear from you. Miss your cheery posts and have been thinking of you. Ready to roll out this morning. Few little things to do first as well as take a shower and wash hair. Need to make fast stop at RV dealer to replace a runing light lens I accidently broke yesterday  Then off we go to southern MI. Looks like some really hot weather coming in. Yuck. Not looking forward to that. Pups don't like it either.

Barbie, look up Millenco towing mirrors and see if you can find a dealer for them near you. They are good mirrors. Clamp on and don't vibrate. I had a pair and they were great.

Martha, that was scary being that close to a lightening strike. Thank goodness the bark went through the windows in the old house and not where you are.

Time to get moving here. Have a nice day everyone. Safe travels to all in the road.

Good morning. Sue have a great time. If it's too hot where you have planned to go, you can always move on. Travel safe.

Good morning Sue and all.... looking forward to hearing about your trip you're just a tad too early for me to be able to join it any GTG... maybe another time we can meet up somewhere who knows maybe I'll make it to your neck of the woods sometime... well I made my last trip to the storage unit yesterday.... I might have some last-minute items to squeeze in on the way out of town but for all intents and purposes is done... so now I'm taking out stuff slowly for garbage to be picked up not much left at that either... storage in the RT is not very much so I have to rethink all that... been working in the kitchen this week and I basically got that cupboards emptied... actually they been empty and I'm only using now what I will be taking with me to use in the RT so it's pretty bare... I have some things my kids wanted me to pick out of my dad's they would like to have a couple tools screwdrivers hammers whatever but I have to figure out where I'm going to even put those in the RT... so just before closing Ron will come and take the freezer and dryer that he is going to keep and get rid of the washer for me I will set the bed and bed frame and TV that I am using & a small folding table that's not much good for the garbage on the day he comes to get the other stuff.... now I have all this paperwork to do I'm going to go paperless as much as I can I have to change my social security in my pension automatic direct deposit to another bank and close out that bank that is in Pennsylvania when I get up there just a bunch of stuff like that which I hate to do.... I've been following everybody that's traveling enjoying their travels and the things they're seeing and doing... a little bummed because my foot is not better I don't know how much "seeing and doing"I'm going to be able to do... well all for me now...B safe....donna

Good Morning to All - We will soon be on the road too. Leaving Williams altitude 6750 for Monument Valley a little lower at 4300. So that should help Bill. Though he seems to be adjusting a little to the altitude here. I am feeling better too. Thank goodness. Well be in Utah for most of the rest of the month. Going to different parks. Will take lots of pictures and post them in the blog.
Safe travels to everyone.

Sheesh, Martha, I'm glad the lightning struck the tree and not the house! Yikes! Here's hoping the therapy picks up and does Harold a lot of good. Is tomorrow the day you have the ramp put in?

Drew had so much fun at agility class this week that he tried to herd me into the ring when it was not our turn. When I wouldn't go on his command, he kept smacking my arm as if I was a recalcitrant sheep. I had to put a stop to that, but it was pretty funny.

I'm at Pine Main campground at Navajo Lake. Interesting and very scenic drive here. I visited Ghost Ranch, which is where Georgia O'Keeffe spend several years. I am really getting tired from walking around at these high altitudes because I have spent the last year at almost sea level. Hope I can get a little used to it. Very hot here, also.

Got to defrost my freezer today. I just noticed that there is some ice on the bottom, and it is causing stuff to stick to it. Hate that job because there is no drain hole, but it is just one of the problems with living in an RV. Reminds me of the old days when I was young and my parents owned a refrigerator that needed defrosting. Which reminds me of the old wringer washer! DId anyone use one of those?? Dangerous and tricky sometimes, but they did get clothes clean and saved water.

Nice to see you are finally DONE with that house, Donna! If a bunch of us were in the area, we could have a celebration party for all the work you have done. I told my kids they should be very, very grateful because I am leaving them only 12 big plastic bins of stuff, besides what is in my motorhome!

Keep in touch on the road, Sue.

Louise, I happened to be looking out the door when the lightening hit. Gives me a new respect for lightening and I was afraid before. Yes, they are suppose to install the ramp tomorrow. Hope we don't have any problems with that. If companies could get workers that want to work as much a Border Collies they would be lucky.

Donna, glad you are almost through with the house and can get on the road. I know how aggravating the pain in your foot is. Mine is a little better, probably because most of my walking is on carpet now. I can sure tell the difference when I put on a pair of shoes without the Profoot insoles.

I like Georgia O'Keeffe's art. When I was working I always tried to get a calendar with her pictures. We had a wringer washer until I was in high school. I had my fingers go in a few times. One time when my dad was on a trip with the Air Force my mother bought an automatic washer from Sears and had it delivered. When my dad came home he made her stop using it and go back to the wringer because he said it used too much water. What an ass. That automatic sat unused for years until my mother got mad one day and drug it out on the back porch and started using it. She was having to wash clothes on the back porch with the wringer washer even in the winter.
