Welcome Wednesday...

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Welcome Wednesday...

Postby grammynmaggie » Wed May 31, 2017 7:04 am

Wednesday is a nice day too welcome mid-week... taking the RT to Glen's Tire they do more than sell tires for a 29-point check in preparation for our travels this summer... they did the house inspection yesterday I never went through a house inspection it was eye-opening they looked in every nook and cranny took pictures of everything... that's all I'm saying about that I'm sure they did not find anything unless they're going to nitpick something it's a well-built solid house that's been kept in excellent repair all new windows you know all that kind of stuff that keeps a house in good condition... I'm going to have a few more things take to the storage nothing big just stuff that I'm going to squeeze in here and there .... basically the rest of it is just waiting and getting the RT ready organized figuring out what goes where and what I want to take what I would like to take and what I can't take... it's getting down to the nitty-gritty I'm excited and I'm scared... I can't even figure out a plan for the trip what roads to take which way to go... before when I went it was always point A to point B now I can take my time and see things and I don't know what to do or see...now how stupid is that... all for now...B safe donna

When I was in college, one of my profs used to say solemnly each Wednesday, "We have broken the back of the week." I always enjoyed his classes. :)

Donna, I feel the same way you do! Getting nervous about hitting the road!

NEWS FLASH!!!
I am going to give my 30 day notice where I live now and a 3 week notice at work! I decided that there is no reason to hang around here all summer. The camper is about ready to hit the road, my brother is doing great now, and the place I am living is not working out too well (major issues with older daughter). So I will be packing up and heading out around the first of July! If I need a little more time, I can park at a nearby campground for a week or two if needed.

Plan at this point is to head to the Black Hills and visit with Beth and Linda for a bit. Then head west and south...

Gorgeous sunny day here! (finally!). Will be taking my Jeep and Happy to the RV place this afternoon to drop her off for a day or so. Getting nervous about towing but it isn't too far away.

I am going to bring Lola out to the camper and see what she thinks. Will do that several times before we leave so she gets familiar and comfortable with it. May even spend a night or two out there with her.

Hope you all have a great day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good Morning to All - Well summer has come to Vegas - 103 yesterday, but cooler today only 98 and tomorrow when we'll be loading the RVit will be cool - only 95! Leaving early Friday morning, hopefully before it gets too hot. First stop Williams AZ - Well really first stop will be the Flying J in Kingman - gas is 30 cents cheaper a gallon in AZ then here in Vegas.
We will be on the road for about a month, hopefully to cooler climates and fun places.
Everyone else on road, drive safely.

WOW Barbie!! So happy for you. I think that is a great idea to spend a few days with Beth and Linda, heck if you like it maybe you could work there in the Black Hills for awhile. Also will be good to have experienced friends to help you get comfortable with your new home.

Congratulations on your decision, Barbie! No sense paying rent for a room when you have your own home on wheels. Might want to start getting kitty used to the place, however. Although, you have lived in so many places, she must be pretty flexible by now. Don't try to drive too many miles each day at first.

Called all over town and could not get a haircut appointment, so ended up at Walmart. And you know, that young woman really did an excellent job! And cheap, as well. My last hair cut was in early April so my short hair was getting really long!

Got two student online presentation events today and then got one more load of laundry and I'll be ready to move tomorrow. No reservations for tomorrow night, but I checked out several federal and state facilities and they all have lots of walk-ins because it is mid-week.

Barbie - sounds like you've made a great decision. Maybe spend a night or two in the TT to see if the bed is comfy.
Enjoy the Black Hills - it's such a great area. Will you get a chance to go through No. CA?

I brought Lola out to the camper today for about an hour. She wasn't happy at first but then she checked it all over and settled down on the bed next to the window. Will keep taking her out there and then overnight in there a couple times too.
I added a 1 1/2" memory foam pad to the bed and it seems pretty comfy so far. Will sleep on it and make sure it will work for the long haul!

I took the camper to the RV place this afternoon. Other than being very windy, I didn't have much of a problem towing. I have a "tow/haul" button on the jeep and that seemed to help especially with going downhill. The whole thing should be much better when I get the new WD hitch put on and the electric brake controller installed. I think I need at least two new tires on the camper as well.

Linda, I plan to go down along the coast of Oregon into California and see place, parks, etc along the way and visit whomever wants to meet up with me.

Oh what a fun trip that will be. Definitely let me know when you get to Oregon. Would love to meet you and do some camping. I work Monday - Friday so hopefully you'll land here around a weekend. I'm in Salem but only an hour or so from the central coast. Might be tough to find a spot in the summer without reservations but I know a couple of state parks that aren't usually full on the weekends.

The road that had the big land slide was Hwy 1. I would recommend everyone to stay off that road unless they have a small rig. However, right now it is closed anyway. This road is along the coast, right on the side of the hills. Very curved and narrow. Lyn
