Tuesday, May 30

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday, May 30

Good morning! I went to bed early last night and been up for quite awhile! Kinda enjoyed not getting awake to a fussy visiting dog! Poor baby was completely out of his routine. Sun is out so far this morning but the forecast is for rain later this morning and thoughout the day. That's okay, I really need to catch up on some things in the house! I need to get outside at some point to dig up some hundred year onions DH had planted that are growing all over the place for a friend. They do keep growing! And I don't even have to work at it! My kind of gardening!

Need to get upstairs and get dresed and get this day going. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the day whereever or whatever you're doing today!

Busy on Tuesday

Postby Colliemom » Tue May 30, 2017 7:11 am

Morning everybody. Quick hello before I get moving here. Things to do. Leave day is coming up pretty quick. Need to go to store and stock the house larder a bit, run a couple other errands and then head back home. Have a little empty cupboard at the bottom of my TV/Radio cabinet that I decided to turn into a storage cupboard. Need a couple pieces of lumber to frame side for adding shelves, so that will be today's project. Friend who has been camping at State Park near me is leaving tomorrow, so need to rake a couple ceiling fans she is taking from me over there.

So, off to the shower and get moving here. O'Sharon and Kelly, I sent you PM's :) Have a nice day all.

Good morning gals!

Looks like another cloudy day with rain possible again. Yesterday was the same as Sunday with scattered cloud bursts here and there all day.

Got a lot done inside the camper yesterday putting up hooks and lining shelves, etc. I put a bar on the screen door to make it easier to open and close. Much better! Getting the storage areas figured out. Need to just start putting stuff in there to know for sure what more I need for shelving and bins, etc.

Finally got the power on inside. Hooked it up to an outlet in the garage but nothing happened. Did see the clock on the microwave came on so I knew there was some juice coming in. A neighbor stopped over last night and saw that one of the breakers had tripped so he flipped that back and everything works now. I can hear a fan down below the sink by the hot water heater that keeps running. Anyone know what that is and is it OK for it to run like that?

My poor cat is being terrorized at night now by the roommate's cat looking in the window at her. I have to close the curtains to keep her from her perch now. She was hissing at my door this morning but I checked and there was nothing on the other side of the door, so I guess she is just getting paranoid now.

Will probably work on getting the Jeep cleaned up today if it doesn't rain.

Hope you all have a great day! :D

It seems to be a morning to worry, here.

Mick is in the hospital with spinal meningitis. He was responding well to antibiotics, and they were going to move him closer to home today, but what looks like a serious ear infection has broken out. Waiting for scan results now.

Emil has to have cataract surgery before he can renew his license, and he's freaking out.

The last dratted squirrel in my house is still avoiding the haveahart trap. At least this one isn't running up my leg! I have developed a truly magnificent startle response.

Sigh.

Edited -- They're draining Mick's mastoid at 1:00. That's a relief! I feel much better with this news. (The squirrel had better watch out! )

Cloudy day here, looks like rain. But rest of week looking good. Going to visit daughter and grand kids Thursday for a few days before my trip. Will miss them while I am gone. But looking forward to my trip, have a few things I want to get done around the house and in the trailer yet.

Sue have a great trip, look forward to hearing about it. Louise sorry to hear about your problems, hope all turns out well for everyone!

Safe travels everyone and enjoy your week.

I woke up to a tornado warning for a cell coming on shore not too far from us. They cancelled the tornado warning but the rain just hit. I hope all of this will hurry up and move off.

Barbie, another thing to look for besides tripped breakers are the ground fault outlets. The outlets are usually near the kitchen and bathroom. If I have something not working it's usually one of them that has tripped.

Liz and I are sitting in one of the pull off along the Blue Ridge taking advantage of four bars of service which we suspect will not be available when we get to the next campground. It is beautiful and sunny. If this weather holds those kayaks may get wet!

Any chance that noise might be the water pump? I have a switch inside to turn the pump on and off. If I leave it on, I can hear it cycling on and off which drives me nuts. So I always turn it off when it's not being used.

Shouldn't hear a water pump unless it is pumping water, I think. But if it hasn't been used in a while or isn't working properly you hear it running trying to get primed and pump water. JudyJB is the live and done it expert on water pumps. I have been very fortunate in that mine has pretty much always done its thing to prime then spits out water. I try to use mine when I am parked in a cg so it is happy and primed all the time.

Barbie,mi'd think you would need to know what was installed there. Water pump, hot water heater power converter, inverter, as they all make noise of fans blowing.

Late post but been busy this morning. Had visitors yesterday. Campground is much quieter after weekend and new neighbors came in. Doing laundry and did some cleaning. Boring life but very pleasant place here.

Added more details about storm to my blog if you are interested

Been a busy day again. My friend came over this morning to help dewinterize. We got most of the pink stuff out of the lines but my gray holding tank is full so will have to get that emptied out when I bring it in on Thursday and then finish flushing water thru to clear the antifreeze out completely. We checked to make sure everything else was in working order and so far so good! The fan I heard was behind the fuse and breaker box. My friend says that is to keep that area from overheating when charging up the batteries.

We also got my Jeep hitched up to the camper so will be ready to go tomorrow when I drop them off at the RV place. Will be using my little Jeep for the next couple days to get around.

Went out to Walmart, Menards and Camping World to return some things and pick up a few other things. I returned the side mirrors I got at CW because they kept falling off. Got better ones now (I hope!). I was going thru receipts to return stuff and discovered one for Menards that charged me $24.00 for a 12 pack of really cheap no-name toilet paper! Have to get that dealt with! Yikes! :o The whole thing should have been less than $2.00. Good thing I saw that! Gotta watch those receipts!

Another thing I can't figure out...I have a cable connection inside the camper for the TV, but can't find a cable connection outside the camper. Shouldn't there be one in case the campground has a cable hookup? Am I missing something?

The first time I hooked up to electric it was after dark and my friend and I had been down at the local bar. We were really tired and by the time we got inside and got quiet, we heard this funny noise like something running. It would come on, run for awhile and stop. We decided to go to sleep and figure it out in the morning.

My cable connection is in the place where you hook up your water hose. When things settle down around here I'm going to a campground and try everything out. Toby has been sick since Friday and the week before it was DH. The day I was going to meet up with people 75 miles away I had a dead battery.

Maybe that's it. I will look around tomorrow and see if I can find an outside connection somewhere. Or I could text the previous owners and ask them...

There should be a cable connection outside. They are small and can hide... Can be near other connections or by themselves.
