Saturday's Here!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday's Here!

Postby Colliemom » Sat May 20, 2017 6:44 am

Another Saturday, another week almost over and next weekend is Memorial Day weekend already. Seems like it was just Easter.

Donna, sounds like things are going well. Talking with the new owners isn't always a bad thing. Sometimes they want to find out about certain things in the house, how this or that works, about the neighborhood, etc. I live right next door to my old house with it's new owners and it's come in handy for them a few times. Hopefully you can get on the road before long.
Barbie, been thinking, thatcwhen you get your new tow vehicle and things in order, maybe I will wander over to MN and we can have a GTG and learn some of the ropes.

Nothing new here. Just spring yard projects and such. Still waiting to hear on my trailer repair. They are busy over there. Might stop by today and see what's up. But first it's shower, wash hair, run vac and make casserole for dinner. Friends coming for overnight stay.

So, what's everybody else doing? Have a nice day, wherever you are.

Saturday Morning Rain and Thunder

Postby Redetotry » Sat May 20, 2017 6:51 am

Good Morning all, It was really thundering and lightening when I took Mitzi out so she hurried, for once! Toby had woke me at four AM so he can wait till this is over. I've been walking them as the ticks are so bad in the back yard but I think they fall from the trees, as I have had three on my head so far  I'm now wearing a hat. The Farmers Market has really had a streak of bad weather since they opened the first Saturday of April. It has either been cold, damp and windy or heavy rain. They are hardy souls though and will be there, but I'm sure their sales have been down. The mosquitoes came this week in droves!!! We had very few last year so was rather surprised yesterday when Toby and I were swarmed by really big ones, they must have taken a year off to grow.
Nothing planned for the day other than I need to shop for DH's birthday, as usual I have absolutely no ideas. I'm so bad, year before last I totally forgot it.
Enjoy the day.

Yesterday one of the camping groups I belong to was having a rally about an hour from me. I had made reservations but had to cancel because of Harold. My son went to visit Harold and I went to the rally to visit and for the crawfish boil. I sure would have liked to be camping.

Harold was in rare form and had my son calling all his friends so he could talk to them. Wednesday and Thursday he was mostly sleeping when I was there and only woke up enough to eat supper. He even called me and said he needed to come home and complain about the food.

It looks like we had a little rain over night. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday we are suppose to have a lot of rain. Sure hope we don't have flooding again.

I slept in a bit this morning. Yay. But I should get going soon. I'm hoping to only put a half day in at the store. We shall see. Maybe take my laundry and kill two birds with one stone. First, it's time to get moving and Peaches walked.

After two-and-a-half days of rain, it has finally stopped. At least I have been in a nice place. Felt sorry for the folks who came in yesterday morning in one of those tiny popups that have a pointed roof--not much room inside on a rainy day. No one is within three sites of me, so it is nice and quiet, even on this weekend. I am at Bloomington East COE, and it is very nice with grass and well-spread out spots--like most COE spots. It's been a quiet place to relax for a few days. Tomorrow, I pack up and head further west in KS. On schedule to meet my Ohio son and family at Grand Canyon in mid-June.

I have to go out to do two loads of laundry before I leave tomorrow. I could get my bike out, but I have been suffering from a bad hemorrhoid, so I think I will walk instead. Supposed to be sorting stuff in a couple of my storage bins, but will see how today goes. When I had the slide fixed in Ohio, they emptied the two storage bins to search for wires and then stuffed things back in, so some stuff is in the wrong bin and the rest is a mess. At least everything is in boxes or sealed bags, so I hope nothing got dirty. I will have to put the slide in on that side to have room to work. I will also need to wipe the outsides of everything off.

Martha you probably already are aware of many of the issues facing Harold
but I notice some mental issues/deterioration ten years ago some of which were
probably related to being in hospitals, rehab places, etc. the environment effects them along with meds

Hurrah! My cell phone booster has arrived. (I'll post something in tech.) Very excited!

Martha, I'm so sorry that Harold is having difficulties with rehab. I think it's pretty common to be disoriented there. I'm thinking strong thoughts your way, anyway.

That Josef! A group placement at his age! He is really something. I hope he does as well today!

HurRay...softball most of the day. If there is a break from the games, I would like to go to Lowes. They have a container with the dementions I am looking for. Also need to go to the library. Two books are ready to be picked up.
I do like making lists and am working on those for my big trip this summer.
I also want to go to CampWorld...not because I like that store,d but, because my dd & sil gave me a certificate for Mothers Day. One thing I want is a new camping chair...need to sit in it before buying.
Beautiful day here. Lyn

Tina, Harold went through some of the same issues when he had both knees replaced and spent 2 weeks in rehab. Surgery is hard on someone his age. He was also anemic when he went into the hospital. They have been giving him a B-12 shot everyday. The symptoms of anemia are the same as what he has. This should probably be a warning to me since I have been somewhat anemic my whole adult life.

It has been raining here steady all day so far. Minor flooding all around here. It can stop anytime now... I think tomorrow it is supposed to let up for the afternoon and evening before starting again by Monday. So glad I decided to move my little Jeep to higher ground!

We are having our company picnic tomorrow evening so hopefully it will be dry, altho it is chilly out with highs barely hitting 50*.

Need to make another run to Walmart to return a few things and pick up a few things. Also need to go to Menards to buy a new cordless drill. The one I have now won't charge up at all. I should do that today but not feeling like going back outside with the rain.

We have to be careful here with the ticks this year. There is a new disease they are carrying and MN has the highest number of cases so far. No cure for it and it is 50% fatal and the rest have severe neurological problems. Not good! Also probably will be hit with a gazillion mosquitoes soon with all the rain we have had the past week or so.

Stay dry, warm and safe!!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
