been there done that twice, and been single way too long and set in my ways now,
so I really feel I couldn't find one that would suit me as "husband" material. I have
way too much fun being platonic friends with the guys I know cause there is just no relationship threat hanging over my head.

Like Beth mentions about seeing something so wonderful that you cry for yourself that you are experiencing it alone, that's where I find myself many times. But, as she says also, having someone who actually sees beauty and appreciates it as much as I do seems to be an impossibility. Therefore, I just need to learn to be happy experiencing life by myself. But that won't keep me from hoping and praying that somewhere, someplace, there might be a person who would love sitting around a campfire listening to the sounds of the night and who would be as contented as I am.

As for my husband (we are still married but haven't lived together in about 15 years now) he has NEVER liked camping or the outdoors (beyond bird hunting and fishing) or canoeing or anything that I value the most in my life. How in hell we ever got together is anybody's guess! But we sure did make some super kids! Being alone is infinitely better that putting up with his impatience and un-appreciativeness. Although I did follow my desires to be outside all summer, despite his wanting to stay inside, I always felt guilty leaving him 'alone' in the house with his ciggies. No more guilt now, and THAT'S a biggie for me.

But the beauty of the world needs to be shared with someone----I can't help but feel that. I totally value my independence, however, and would never be able to sacrifice that for having another legal, demanding, controling spouse!

And besides the above, this old body ain't ready for Prime Time Viagra any more. I think I'd rather fall on my sword than let anyone see me naked anymore!

Who in the world invented Viagra anyway? Just when we thought it was safe to come out of the woods...

I have a friend who's husband uses Viagra and she HATES it. He takes it about 7.00pm, even though she pleads with him to wait to bedtime. Half an hour later he is ready, but she's not. Then she says she could take a book to read because he just goes on and on and on. Yuck! Gugs! Greugh!

And that's why this forum is so wonderful. We have a large group of friends who share our appreciation of that beauty and we share with each other.

Been married for 43 years with ups and downs as with most relationships. DH has never been trainable, so have had to enjoy what I got, usually on the positive side. If something happened, don't think I'd be looking (or them at me  ), but I never say never. One of my best friend's husband died unexpectedly 1 1/2 years ago. She was devastated as there was much going on in her life with a sister who has dementia, financial problems,a crazy BIL, etc. He was the only man she had ever been with. However, this guy who had been VERY interested, finally got her to go out for a cup of coffee a few months ago and WA LA, he has turned out to be, though totally different than her first, a wonderful person. Who knows where it will end up, but that's why I say, never say never. carold

The tv ad says to call your doctor if you experience an erection lasting more than 4 hours. Don't worry, if he doesn't call, she surely will!

Was married for 28 years. Three wonderful kids. Divorced (my decision). Ex and I are still friends. He's just an annoying person most of the time and my tolerance is nil at this point in my life. NOT looking for another mate, but would love to find a companion. I leave it to Higher Powers...everything happens for a reason.

You all are wild this morning! Sparkle your friend should find a vitamin or sleeping pill that looks like Viagra!
Had to be a man that made that stuff, and why for men and not women?!

That is so far off my radar that there isn't even a blip! I can put up with the loneliness and not having someone to share experiences because I realize that this is a totally different life I need to live. The old life is full of memories, but I will never have it back. I'm still finding my way in this new life. Besides, I firmly believe there isn't another male in the universe that would even begin to compare to the one I had.

No pun intended, Liz?
I told Beth yesterday that I'm never lonely because I have all these personalities that I just bring one of them up and talk to her. One of them is Violet, she is very shy, but she knows all the words to WW1 songs (I don't) One of them is a guy, Steve. Both DH and Geo, my ex-boss liked Steve. Then there is Margaret, she is the nice one and Beth says she'd like to meet her some time.

As to things that rise, I'll stick with the rocks that I've posted and more I'll probably post in the future. Lot less work that way.
